Another Record-Breaking Rouvy Race

Record Breaking Race

Hold onto your helmets, folks! Muckers Worldwide just hosted another epic race night on Rouvy, and the numbers are in – we shattered our previous record with a staggering 210 registered riders and 134 finishers! This is officially one of the biggest races Rouvy has seen all year, and the energy was absolutely off the charts.

Conquering Iceland:

This week’s battleground was Stage 4 of the GWA Iceland route, the Höfn. This 18.02-mile course offered a virtual tour of Iceland’s breathtaking scenery, with a mix of flat sections and challenging climbs. With 472ft of elevation gain and a max grade of 5%, it was the perfect test of strength and strategy.

A Massive Thanks!

A huge shout-out to everyone who joined us, whether you were sprinting for the finish line, pushing your limits in the peloton, or simply enjoying the ride with fellow cycling enthusiasts. The camaraderie and sportsmanship on display were truly inspiring.

And a special thanks to the Farnham Road Club for making our Tuesday night races their off-season battleground. We’re stoked to have you as part of the Muckers community!

To keep this awesome community thriving, we’ve got some sweet Muckers kit available (https://www.owayo.co.uk/store/muckers-worldwide) so you can look the part while you ride! And for those who want to rep the Mucker spirit off the bike, we’ve got a bunch of cool merch in our shop (https://www.muckersworldwide.com/shop/). Of course, if you just want to fuel our passion with a virtual coffee, we appreciate that too! Kyle Goodram

Kyle is a digital writer for MuckersWorldwide.com I've been out riding all over Greater Manchester, Lancashire and Cheshire for the last 12 years. It is mainly to keep fit as I love food and would be 16st if I didn't ride my bike at least 3 times a week. This leads me to Muckers Worldwide, as when the weather is un-rideable (fair weather cyclist) I move indoors to cycle on Rouvy. We have a large group of races that we race throughout winter in the UK. Hope you come and join us on a Tuesday & Thursday title of the races are "Muckers". Thanks, Kyle

Coming from RGT these are seriously big numbers and considering the indoor season is just starting in the northern hemisphere they will only get bigger. Well done to Kyle and Neil for creating such a community. Being an organiser is often a thankless task as I know from the real world races me and Karen organise but you both have our thanks.

cheers Roy, we really do appreciate it when people take the time out to drop us a message like this as yes, it can sometimes start to feel a bit thankless can’t it! It is crazy to think that what started out as just a way to schedule challenge routes so a few of us could do them together has turned into the place where some of the strongest riders on ROUVY now come to race! take care and thanks again!

Thanks for all your efforts in putting on these events.. Work commitments / timings mean that I can’t join in the Tuesday and Thursday races.. If it works for others as well as myself could you consider putting on a 6:30am start time on these days? Best regards and see you on the Colombier this Sunday.. Nigel

    Farnham Road Club

After a few years racing on the free version of RGT our club had a dilemma when it was closed down. Everyone had found their preferred cycling platform and agreeing to align to a single platform was tricky.

The Group Subscription option was the ‘carrot’ to attract a majority over to Rouvy. We raced every Tuesday at 7pm over winter … a perfect coincidence with Muckers race calendar. Previously, we raced on our own FRC created events, often in a long line of solo riders. Riding our race within the Muckers race, enabling all of us to find draft and feel the excitement from start to end has been a terrific success for us and everyone enjoys the experience.

The Club appreciate that you actively consider us in your route selections for Tuesdays and hopefully we can join the Muckers through to the end of our Winter League in March.

Many thanks from the 18 FRC riders.
