S.Ludfrod (Steven)
Meet S. Ludford, also known as Steven Ludford on Strava. A resident of Hampshire, UK, and currently 56 years old, Steven’s journey into cycling began at the age of 42. After a sedentary lifestyle, he decided to make a change while on vacation in Turkey, suffering from chest pains that spurred a weight loss journey. Starting on an old flat bar steel bike, he progressed to a 40-mile round-trip commute and eventually embraced road cycling. Inspired by conquering Ditchling Beacon, he became a ‘Roadie’ and embraced Farnham Road Club, where he learned the nuances of group riding and time trials. Despite weight fluctuations, his commitment to cycling never waned. Joining Rouvy in 2022, he found a new training avenue and subsequently became part of the MuckersWorldwide community, which elevated his experience through camaraderie and competition. Despite life’s challenges, including his “weight problem,” Steven’s cycling highlights include notable achievements like Alpe d’Huez, TTs, international rides, and even conquering The Koppenberg. His passion and determination are evident both on the road and on virtual platforms, embodying the essence of a dedicated cyclist.
berty-bassett6 (Lee)
A cycling enthusiast from a small town, I’ve always had a bike, evolving from a Raleigh Chopper to a Giant OCR road bike. After years away from cycling, witnessing my dad’s biking adventure at 60 reignited my passion. Determined to conquer challenges, I gradually increased distances, shifting from group rides to solitary journeys. Battling setbacks like an accident and health issues, including a DVT, I found solace and exhilaration in mountain climbs. Despite my unconventional struggle with weight, my dedication to cycling never wavered. Through smart trainers, camaraderie with fellow cyclists, and sheer determination, I overcame hurdles, pushing my limits and embracing the highs and lows of this thrilling journey.
