Short version: some links on Muckers Worldwide are affiliate links. If you click one and buy or book something, we may earn a small commission. It costs you nothing extra, and it never decides what we write. Here’s the longer version, in plain English.
What’s an affiliate link?
An affiliate link is a tracked web address that tells a retailer or travel company that you came from our site. If you then buy or book, they may pay us a commission. The price you pay is the same as if you’d gone to them directly.
Who we work with
We work with cycling retailers and travel brands through Awin, an affiliate network. In particular, Muckers Worldwide is an affiliate partner of Viator (a Tripadvisor company) via Awin, so links to Viator tours and experiences may earn us a commission. The individual programmes we’re part of change over time, so we don’t list them all here.
We also earn a small commission from Owayo on orders that come through our links.
How we mark them
- On the site: posts with affiliate links carry a small asterisk (*) and a short disclosure in small text at the bottom of the post: “* Some links in this post are affiliate links: if you buy through them Muckers may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. We only feature deals we’d happily tell a clubmate about.”
- In the page code: affiliate links are tagged
rel="sponsored", so search engines know they’re commercial links. - On social media: captions that contain an affiliate link or promote something we may earn from start with “Ad:”.
Some older posts were written before this page existed and may not carry the note. Treat any link to a shop or booking site as a possible affiliate link unless we say otherwise.
Picked on value, never on commission
- We choose deals, holidays and products on value: would we tell a clubmate about it? If not, it doesn’t go in. Commission never decides what we pick.
- Nobody can pay to be featured or to change what we say. We also feature plenty of things with no affiliate link at all.
- We’ll always tell you in the post if we were given a product or trip for free. Nothing is free unless we say so.
Prices and bookings
We check prices and details on the retailer’s or operator’s own page on the date given in the post, but they change quickly, so always check the final price and terms before you buy or book. Muckers Worldwide is an independent community blog: any purchase or booking is between you and the company.
Cookies
Awin, Owayo and the retailers or travel brands we link to may set cookies when you click an affiliate link, so they can credit the referral. More in our Privacy Policy.
Our own shop
Our Shop sells Muckers-branded merchandise. That’s us selling our own products, so those aren’t affiliate links.
