Muckers Holidays: Canaries Round 3 – Lanzarote for £800, Bike-Included Tenerife & a Gran Canaria Epic

Muckers Holidays – Winter 2026/27 Canaries Edition, Round Three

Right then, Muckers. The clocks have gone back, the bib tights are out and the drive is already full of leaves. So here’s Round Three of the Canaries hunt, and once again we’ve swerved every operator from our first two roundups. That means no Canary Biking, Club La Santa, Moloko, Cycle Gran Canaria, TenerifeVelo or Tenerife Bike Tours this time. Instead we’ve got a proper small-group Lanzarote week from a UK club-style operator, two very different ways to do Tenerife, a big Gran Canaria tour with a November discount, and some properly cheap hire bikes.

The usual rules apply. We lean towards quiet, bike-friendly roads and hidden gems, and every price below is exactly as the operator shows it, with a link straight to the offer.

Prices checked 1 November 2026 on the operators’ own pages. Prices and availability change, so check before you book.*

1. Hidden Gem of the Fortnight: Lanzarote Road Week – BikeXplore

Where: Lanzarote, based at a guesthouse near Mozaga in the middle of the island
When: Sunday 17 to Sunday 24 January 2027
Price as shown: £800 per person, land only. Single supplement £350. Final payment is due 17 November 2026, and the trip needs a minimum of 5 people.
Included (per the operator): accommodation, breakfasts and evening meals (except the last day), and entry to Cueva de los Verdes or Jameos del Agua. Not included: flights, transfers, bike hire and lunches.

Why it’s a hidden treasure: BikeXplore is a small UK operator, so this is a single, small-group week rather than a big resort camp. Being based inland near Mozaga rather than on a resort strip puts every corner of the island within a day’s ride. Why it’s safe: BikeXplore say the routes stick to paved roads and avoid the busy ones, and the grading is “Energetic” rather than full-gas training camp.

The ride, the views: There are five riding days averaging 73.2km and 1,138m each, with a rest day in the middle. The west loop (71km, 950m) runs through Tinajo, La Santa and the surf cliffs of Famara to the old capital, Teguise. The south day (84km, 1,200m) takes in Yaiza, the green lagoon at El Golfo, Las Breñas and Playa Blanca, then home through the black-ash vineyards of La Geria. The north day (78km, 1,500m) climbs to Haría’s “valley of 1,000 palms” and Mirador del Río, looking across to La Graciosa, before the week finishes with a big climb from Arrieta to the island’s high point (67km, 1,190m). It’s a great find because £800 covers a week of half board and fully planned routes, and that’s rare for a UK-run trip.

2. Best-Value Bike-Included Week: Explora Bikes Tenerife – Zentral Hotel

Where: Tenerife south, Zentral Hotel (Explora Bikes are based in Arona)
When: Sunday to Saturday weeks; the price below applies November to April
Price as shown: €950 per person (November–April). Single supplement €200.
Included (per the operator): 6 nights with breakfast at the Zentral Hotel, 5 days’ bike rental (BH SL1 with 105 Di2, or upgrade to an MMR Adrenaline for +€50 or a Colnago V4 Ultegra Di2 for +€140), 5 guided ride days with support and on-ride supplies. Not included: flights and transfers.

Why we like it: most Tenerife weeks quote the bike as an extra. Here a Di2 carbon bike and five guided days are already in the €950. Why it’s safe: every ride is guided and supported by a local outfit who ride these roads all year, so you’re not working out the island’s traffic on your own.

The ride, the views: Explora list roughly 400km and 8,550m of climbing for the week. It opens with a pancake run up to Vilaflor (61km, 1,600m), then heads to El Porís via the TF-28 coast road (100km, 1,850m). Day three is Masca or Garachico (85km and 1,750m, or 122km and 2,750m if you’re feeling brave), followed by an easier El Médano day (80km, 1,000m). The finale is the big one: El Teide, 105km and 2,500m, up through the pines and into the moonscape of the national park. It’s a great find because the bike, the guides and the hotel together cost less than some operators charge for the guiding alone.

3. The Full Island Tour: Tour of Tenerife – Sportive Breaks

Where: 5 nights at the Barceló Tenerife 5* (Golf del Sur, half board), then 2 nights at the AC Hotel Tenerife by Marriott 4* in Santa Cruz (B&B)
When: Saturday to Saturday. Bookable dates shown are 21 and 28 November 2026, 16 and 23 January 2027, and 6 and 13 February 2027 (7 November is shown as unavailable)
Price as shown: £1,649 per person twin/double. Single £1,949. Non-rider discount £490.
Included (per the operator): 7 nights, 6 guided rides with at least two guides, support vans with nutrition, a mechanic, private bike storage, transfers from Tenerife South including bike boxes, and a paella party. Not included: flights and bike hire (from £249 for 6 days for a BMC Teammachine SLR FIVE or Pinarello with Ultegra, up to £599 for a Factor O2 VAM).

Why we like it: it’s Manchester-based, ABTA and ATOL protected, and it covers the whole island rather than repeating the same Teide climb every day. Why it’s safe: every day has long, medium and short options with guides and a van, so mixed-ability groups can ride together. Sportive Breaks describe the island as having little to no traffic and smooth roads.

The ride, the views: You get two ascents of Teide: once from the west, a steady 5–6% climb on excellent tarmac (up to 110km and 2,600m), and once from the south via Vilaflor (up to 135km and 3,000m). Between them, a gentler east-coast ride ends at Tempus Bodega for local wine and a Canarian lunch. Then you move hotels, descend the famous Masca switchbacks and finish on the quiet Las Cruces climb from Garachico. The last ride climbs the Bailadero into Anaga’s laurel forests and sharp ridges, with Teide on the skyline. It’s a great find if you want the whole island in one week and someone else handling the bags.

4. The Big One (Now €200 Cheaper): Tour of Gran Canaria – Eat Sleep Cycle

Where: Gran Canaria, point to point: Puerto de Mogán, then the Parador at Cruz de Tejeda, then Agaete
When: 30 November 2026, 11 January 2027 and 8 February 2027 (7 days, 6 nights)
Price as shown: from €3,199 per person, or €2,999 on the 30 November 2026 departure. A 30% deposit secures it.
Included (per the operator): 4* hotels, breakfasts, lunches and 4 evening meals, full support from guides and a van, and group airport transfers. Not included: flights and bike hire (from €60 a day).

Why we like it: this is the premium pick, and it’s graded Advanced. You get 595km and 13,065m of climbing in a week. Why it’s safe: a full support vehicle and guides stay with the group, and the van will give you a lift to the top if a climb gets too much.

The ride, the views: Day two is the classic climb to Pico de las Nieves (117km, 2,800m), where on a clear day you can see Teide across the water. Day three is the one people talk about: the brutal climb up the Valley of the Tears (75km, 3,041m) to a night at the Parador at Cruz de Tejeda, a rural hotel in the clouds at 1,500m. After that come the colourful villages of Santa Lucía and San Bartolomé de Tirajana with Roque Nublo in view, a big drop to Agaete’s black beaches and natural rock pools, and a last day through the lush green north. It’s a great find for anyone after a bucket-list week, and the 30 November date takes €200 off.

Muckers Quick Tips for Round Three

  • Watch the deadlines. BikeXplore’s final payment is due 17 November and the trip needs 5 riders, so get your mates in early.
  • Check what “land only” means. BikeXplore and Eat Sleep Cycle don’t include a bike, so add hire or a bike box to your budget.
  • Teide is a day out, not a spin. Every Teide ride here climbs around 2,500m or more. Fuel early, carry a layer for the top, and don’t be shy about the van.
  • Book hire bikes early in high season. Cyclo Canaria only confirm advance bookings of 3+ days in peak months.
  • Get travel insurance that covers road cycling abroad, plus hire-bike damage if the shop asks for it.

That’s Round Three wrapped. If you book any of these, Lanzarote especially, we want the ride report. Shout in the group or write it up for the blog. See you on the quiet roads.
