    Nice article Kyle. I use clinchers on my training bike, race bike and TT bike and so does Karen. The training and race bikes use latex innertubes. The TT bike uses tubeless with sealant. The reasons are simple. The training and race bike need to finish their ride guaranteed as I may be in the middle of nowhere on one of my daft adventures to take my Muckers t-shirt worldwide and changing/patching tubes will always accomplish this. The race bike also goes on planes a lot and they insist your tyres are deflated which would cause problems with sealant leak and reinflating. The TT bike just needs to be as fast as possible. If I have to stop to change a tube then my TT is over so tubeless gives me the most chance of not stopping for a puncture. I have finished 3 events with a puncture and only noticed them when preparing the bike for my next event. I don’t run lower pressures for tubeless – this is a myth. I run the correct pressures for my weight and road surface. A tubeless tyre is still subject to sidewall damage from a pothole. In summary, GP 5000 S TR for training and race and Corsa Speed G2 TLR for TT in 25mm all round.

    I am still riding two older sets of Campagnolo Bora Ultra 50 / Hyperion carbon wheel sets on my Pinarelli Dogma and on my Firefly Titanium. So there is a 3rd version of tires ” the tublars”. I recommand Continental Competition and Vittoria Corsa in 25mm. Very little problems an not more then 1 puncture every 10’000km! And yes I know, I represent the elder generation of wheelset users.
