MUCKERS AUGUST CHAMPIONSHIP. FINAL RACE. 29/08/24

ROUVY ROUTE USED:

La Vuelta 2024 | Stage 13 – Balboa | 22.96 mi | 2,530 ft

RACE RESULT FROM ALL START TIMES:

Tough route for our final Race of this months championship and with the thanks to NITEOR we can now see the blended results from all the start times in one table, (and without my many scraps of paper and head scratching!!) The full run down of stats are at Niteor.com, below are just some we’ve selected for this blog.

The first race, 2EARLY4ME, had 4 finishers with “bismo” getting the win with a time that was good enough for an overall 20th place! That is a very strong result from one of these extra races.

We had no finishers for the EALRY-ON or the LATER-ON versions, so it was left to the 2LATE4ME version to give us another 4 finishers to blend into the results table, with “ciclistacarlo” getting the win which was a good enough time to be positioned 41st in the table below.

But it was left to the big hitters to claim the top 5 mentions tonight. “BareRemi” just in front of “prezmokrk” with both somehow smashing this route off in under an hour! Great to see “Simon_Hahnenbruch” back and getting a podium finish for his troubles, with world championship contenders “lrollin” getting 4th to keep the pressure on the current leader “Stefan_Schmidt” who claims 5th but with an identical time!

Please pop a comment down below to let us know how the race went for yourselves and also please pop over to the store as any purchase really helps keep this whole thing going!

Thanks, Mucker1974.

FULL TABLE FOR RACE 5.

  • We are testing NITEOR for the first time tonight, and NITEOR places “lrollin” in front of Stefan_schmidt” even though the official ROUVY standings have them the other way round. I have always used ROUVYS official finishing order for my points (which is opposite to NITEORS loadings) so i have to swap these guys places and points to keep it in line with the way this championship has been run all year. We might experience a few more of these little bugs along the way while using this new software and if this has to be the way it is, then from next year we will have worked out why this is happening and might have to award the same points. But i hope you understand that we won’t put that into place in the middle of a championship year so it needs a re calculation to stay the way it’s been all year. Thank you, Mucker1974

AUGUST CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL TABLE:

“przemokrk” gets his first win of this years championship with a very dominant showing this month! 50 points into his world championship kitty is great but he will now be running with an extra 1.5% winners ballast! After a mess up and re-calculation as explained above, “Stefam_Schmidt” gets 2nd place and an extra 1% ballast, and “lrollin” gets 3rd and will now gain another 0.5% of ballast.

If you want to see how that’s affected the world championship, please visit the separate blog on the website!

Neil Rushby

co-founder of muckersworldwide.com and race organizer! Been into cycling since a kid and spent most of the time on BMX and mountain bikes. Took me longer than most to get the road cycling bug but I was bitten around 5 years ago when I finally got a fully fledged road bike that fitted and I let the flat handled road bike go...

  1. Neil Rushby says:

That was a tough route and competition. rode as hard on the flat first section, then paced the climb with S.Ludford for company but we were chased down all the way up!! Got a nice 25th place in the monthly championship but it now feels like hitter after hitter are returning so its only gonna get tougher from her to keep in that top 50!

  2. Kyle Goodram says:

Why am I not on the Race 5 results? 🤔 I must have been so quick that the data didn’t pick me up! 💨 I’m sure I finished 2 or 3 places behind Mucker1974. Please add me in, Neil! 🏁 #RaceResults #Running #Glitch #SpeedyMe

  3. lrollin says:

@Davide Good initiative. Are the data scraped from Rouvy? Did you get an agreement for that?
Great idea to add a category system that can be defined by the organizers.

@Neil Are you going to include all the previous rounds of the annual championship?

    • Neil Rushby says:

hi, still experimenting with it. had our first hiccup tonight and really want to get it right for next years championship so its all automated to try and save me some time.

So not looking to use it for the previous rounds at all. thanks for asking though.

  4. Chris says:

Yes, that was a tough route, but the long downhill after the long uphill, made for a nice finish. What a quick August. Thanks Neil.

  5. Mike Hagen says:

Looking at the August Champ standings after 4 races; I’m not catching Mads (Grochang), and RaTim is not catching me (sorry, Tim!). Good time to take it easy, right? Not on your life. We had a good group going over the rollers in the first 20 km, then the climb started and broke us up. I was hanging with alfiocrist75, getting away from Mads, when nelsonsnyder smoked us. Hardly saw him coming, it was very impressive. He took alfiocrist with him a little bit, and I fell back. Mads caught me again and dropped me. Payback, I guess, for when I did it to him earlier this month. But I couldn’t give it to him: was 400 m behind once at speed on the downhill, but only 200 m behind before the finish. Did you feel a twinge of apprehension, Mads?

  6. Neil Rushby says:

We are having a few teething issues getting NITEOR up to where we want it but rest assured i will be doing everything in my power to make sure at least this years rules and regs and the way we’ve done things stays as true to what we’ve done so far this year.

But i am only human, so if you see anything you think i might have missed or got wrong, please let me know. I want it perfect for when we go full NITEOR next year! but for now, lets get it working for us. (there really is a lot of potential to using it so it’s worth trying to get there)
