MUCKERS SEPTEMBER CHAMPIONSHIP R3. 19/09/24

ROUVY ROUTE USED:

La Vuelta 2024 | Stage 10 – Alto da Groba | 21.53 mi | 2,510 ft

EXTRA TIME SLOTS REPORT:

Will this profile put riders off?? Sometimes as soon as riders see over 2000ft plus, its a good enough reason to give it a miss, especially if you are the only one on the start line. 3 starters on the 2LATE4ME version last night but only 1 finisher meaning another week on the bounce for Muckers Worldwide team rider “cdtchris” to get a mention! Well done Mucker!

The 2EARLY4ME race had 2 riders cross the line, with “Dave_Stallan” getting the win and the special mention. 4 finishers on the RISE&RIDE means a top 3 mentions with “Hans.Holm.Moeller” getting the win, with a due of Muckers Worldwide team riders of “Southafro” and “SwissChris69” getting 2nd and 3rd!

The EARLY-ON version got 4 finishers as well, with one of the main race big hitters (and Muckers Worldwide team rider) “Tuden” winning this, “Kossmann” getting 2nd and “cwelford” getting the 3rd place Bronze. The LATER-ON Version had 2 finishers tonight with the win going to the American rider “Hackman”

Well done to you all but please remember these are your extra time slots so you need to push these to get them popular. I will always create them, blend the results into the main race and they should always be at the time slots you see them at now! Get more on them, the more chance of drafting and better points come hand in hand. I don’t send invites to any of these extra time slots so its all up to you guys to get these filling up.

MAIN RACE REPORT:

120 Registered riders for the main race! and for a 2500ft route! Respect!! This translated into 70 finishers (or 69 if we are to discount the “winner” Carlo) which is amazing!

So we all know about the guy who came first ( or if you don’t, we basically don’t feel his adapted for Paralympics bike set up is on the same level as the rest of the rider. Its amazing what he does and i will never say otherwise, its just not fair to the other riders) He will still be given the points but he won’t be added to the world championships if he ends up top 50 at the end of the month.

So our Muckers Worldwide Race winner tonight is “przemokrk” but it was a very tight and brilliant 5 way race for the win! If you weren’t watching Colin’s live stream as it was happening then give it watch via the link below to see this superb race! “BareRemi” gets awarded 2nd, “Stefan_Schmidt” keeps his world championship on track with 3rd with a duo if Spanish riders right behind them with “luis73” in 4th and “JavierTC_GURE” in 5th.

We award 6th to “TijsV” , 7th to “karel_sousek”, 8th to “ErlendSundstrom” , 9th to “NikolajBugge” and last mention tonight goes to “lrollin” for 10th place in our eyes! What a group of big hitters!!

This was a very tough route and it looks like we are now attracting the best riders on ROUVY for these races but for all of you, please remember, the only way to get faster, is to rider with the fast riders! or if you’re like me, just hang on for dear life then see what happens later lol

We are still in the early stages of our NITEOR journey and sometimes the link or flow of data between it and ROUVY can glitch or be delayed, so please let us know if you see something odd in the results and we will put it right for you. It looks good again to me though!

Thanks to all those that race and support us, thanks for finding and reading the blog, especially to those that read to the very end. Thank you Mucker1974

Another hard race for the championship, this time I start a little more fast for take a good position when the field will be red for long time.
I find a new mate to work well and together jnovak 74, we worked always with a good pace, when we ride the long downhill, behind of us was a trio that give me fear, Big L, Michael and Andy. In fact the distance in a few times it was getting shorter, I try and try to push my little group but nothing to do, they catch us. In the final great sprint on the line for me and jnovak.
    Thanks for everybody 👋🦈

Race of the week, so i could not miss it. Feeling way better day by day, i was looking forward to this event. Flat intro with bunch of 27 riders, before we reached main climb. Quick selection started and this time i focused on my effort, knowing i still cant follow attacks of the best riders. With that i got into second group, but we were not far behind leaders. We joined with Erlend and were 40-80m behind. Then at one point i missed push by Javier Gure, which got him into leading group. What a shame, but i was pushing in front before and did not expect such big move.

We continued with Erlend as we dropped Nikolaj on the horizon. Long descending section followed, where mostly Erlend tried to close gap to the leaders, but no chance as we were duo against seven riders. I got little cramps there, but on final flat section i could consolidate effort and without any attack or so distance Erlend a bit. 8th place is very good results, few more watts for short period of time and should be there back in front group. Thank you all who joined this exciting race!

Hi, another nice race. I didn’t want to exhaust after start, so I started to climb around 40th place. Short time with Thomas ended when he speed up to 4,0 or little more. Most of the climbing I rode with Grep (thanks to him that he waited for me sometimes and forced me to let there all I had). Downhill in group of 3, but only me and Grep tried to fast up. Few hundrets meters before finish Grep glitched. He was more than 150 m behind, so I slowed (little, cos we were still 2 there) and after Greps amazing finish he overtook us. I’m looking forward to next race

Not in great shape for this race. I’ve been feeling under the weather for 2 or 3 days and I knew the climb would be tough. I tried to stick with the lead group as much as possible, but Invictus’ attacks wore me down, and I dropped from the first group, ending up with karel_sousek in a second group, then quickly on my own. Once alone, the gap with the lead group grew very quickly. On the less steep section, I eased off, losing all hope of catching the guys ahead, and waited for Dok_PS and alfiocrist75. We took good turns until the finish. alfiocrist75 tried to break away in the last 3 kilometers, I made the effort to catch up and launched the sprint in the last 300 meters. The goal tonight was to stay in the top 10.
It’s been several weeks since I lost so much time to the leaders. But it’s hard to be at your best when you’re not feeling well. Pretty disappointed with the gap to Stefan, but more and more strong riders are getting into the mix.

My 2nd and final Muckers September GP race, so made the effort to make it count 😂
Did a comfortable 20min warm-up in Z1 on the short Canadian Challenge route and joined the start-pen 4min before go-time. Water bottle with carbs on hand, ready to!

Wanted to improve my pacing so didnt start all-out but hard enough to stay in with the larger group, but not too hard to cause problems on the long climb ahead. Towards the end of the climb I was in company with Chorus and we rode together taking turns pulling and keeping our pace up! Tranberg joined and we were a group of three coming head to head together for the finish line….

Slowly I am getting used to the high intensities of the rouvy races again after a long outdoor season. As a warm-up, I completed the Gaen stage of the Vuelta in good 35 minutes and was warm and ready for the 4-3-2-1-start. The gameplan was not a rocket launch but then 4W/kg hold in the first steep climb and see how it stands. I started well and was in the third group at the bottom of the climb, around 30th place. I was able to hold the 4W and won place after place. On the last meters of climb I was able to catch up with Mike Hagen and together we went into the downhill, we teamworked perfectly and were able to catch up with Klaus Kinski and bkrAP. Together we reached the last climb, where our competitors both attacked. I managed to overtake Klaus Kinski, but I couldn’t bring the gap to bkrAP below 29m to the finish. Hard and difficult race, but thanks to Mike a great teamwork among the muckers, a lot of fun and both top20!
    Pedal on, Tom

With a little bit of a climb coming soon enough, nobody was doing anything crazy off the start, we had a pack of 20 or so bombing along at 50 kph.  That was fun.  Then we turned off the highway and started up the hill–600 m to climb in 10 km.  Sounds like fun, no?  But it was, kinda.  Riding at first with Grochang and chorus, but left them behind when tomlereiger came by.  The two of us had a crazy climb, catching and dropping folk including Muckers nielsbrynnum and Guthinger_Mike.  Hard to believe!  I don’t know if Tom was thinking the same as me, but one last big effort to catch and gap a group but be together for the downhill.  Crazy downhill also.  After all the TTT work we’ve done, we know what we’re doing!  Taking turns slingshotting past each other and sprinting hard to keep speed at 72 kph when we had to, we increased the gap on the riders behind and caught the pair ahead.  Into the flat finish 5 km, we’d separated and I was chasing KlausKinski.  40 – 60 m behind and I simply could not get any closer!  Try again next week!

Mike, I had the same in mind: go hard untill the top of the hill, but find a fast guy or group for the descent. I’m asking myself if we stood together on the last bump, and could had worked together on the final 5km, better results?

  8. Steven Ludford says:

I consider tonight to probably be my best Rouvy performance to date. Worked with Mick for the entire route and we were never more than a few metres apart as we continually switched turns at a perfect constant 3w/kg pace. Mick towed me to the line on the final flat section on the seafront so I was happy to roll in behind my teammate.

First Thursday race for quite some time. I was either travelling or riding outside. I felt quite good today, even though I need relax in September and October after my challenging Gran Fondos in the Alpes in the Summer. I’m still doing fine uphill and was able to get close to the top 10 after a slow start at position 50+. I thought the climb is closer to the starting line. I lost some in the first kms but saved energy. In the end, I competed against strong riders Irollin and alfiocrist75 who I passed on the top of the long climb. This was fun today. I will likely not be able to do any of the next three Thursday races. But maybe I see you on a Tuesday or a rainy Sunday. Best P
