So, to this first race of the night. A nice 15 miler with only 564 ft of climbing awaited us with a very reasonable 50 minutes to complete before race 2. 32 riders on the line and at ten past seven (UK Time) the race started and we had a nice first 2 miles but then the next 4 miles is when all the climbing happened leaving a long (approx. 9 mile) gradual downhill to the finish. An Interesting Route.
A New Winner for us tonight was the Portuguese rider “JoseCostaRonda” with a superb time of just over 34 minutes, with “Simon_Hahnenbruch” coming home in 2nd just 30 seconds behind. Seems we had a sprint for 3rd with the next 5 riders finishing within a few seconds of each other but it was “robertkmita21” who got the better of them all and claimed the bronze medal place.
4th came “transberg“, 5th ” karel_sousek” , 6th “PatrykS_Gdynia_PL” and 7th was “stijn1” but this could have been in any order on any other day, it was that close. 8th was “duccioc” , 9th “feelslikemonday” and in the final top 10 position was “Pol_Florens” , just 2 minutes and 20 seconds behind the winner.
Best placed Muckers Worldwide rider was “shrek-1970-Challenger” in 15th, showing what a competitive field we had out there today as we normally get easily into the top 10. Better luck in the next race team!.
Thank you everyone for joining the race, I hope you enjoyed it and if you get the chance, please leave a comment on how the race went from your perspective.
cheers

22nd and a nice 243watts average for me on this one. I was doing well until the long climb and i just got dropped from the pack and as I hit the long gradual downhill, I was 0.3 behind the pack and 0.3 in front of the chasing pack!! The dreaded no-mans-land! Decisions Decisions??? drop back or head down?? I decided to keep my head down and see if I could at least keep the gap and finish in my position and although the pressure was strong from tomek and marcin, I held on. Glad I’ve now got the Wattbike back from the factory and had a set up I could trust as well!
Thanks again for organizing this great race. Indeed another very competitive race. I was able to break away at the peak of the hill and caught Shrek 1970. Two of us were riding nicely together and keep a small margin from the chasing group. Pan Rorisi were riding strong and caught us at the last 800m. I can’t sprint, yet Shrek1970 has good legs and was able to beat Pan at the finish line. Kudos to shrek1970!!!
