66 on the start line for tonight’s double race event! really feel this Championship and the loyalty shown is something else. Thank you. Anyway, horrible beginning with an more horrible climb in the middle, then a nice finish! That about sums this one up but what a route to race on!!

Over 50 on the Start line so who made the top 20 mentions………………

“karel_sousek” got top spot here, but only just as the top 3 were only separated by 1.9 seconds. “Tuden” got the sliver and “nelsonsnyder” the bronze! Still within a minute of the leader came the next 4 riders with “orthostice” in 4th, 7 seconds later “JoseCostaRonda” in 5th, 8 seconds gap to “adampel” in 6th, then just 2 seconds later “stephane-martin” in a superb 7th.

8th, and making it 8 different nationalities in a row came the German rider “Stefan793” , then quite a big gap back to “hj2010” in 9th and then rounding out the top 10 and just 2 minutes behind the winner came “AndiiR”

A trio of Muckers Worldwide riders next with “Berty_Bassett6” just leading “MikeHagen” over the line with “denny44” 30 seconds behind in 13th. “Bling87” just behind in 14th place, the another 2 Muckers next with “rmadden1” claiming 16th and “Tom-MWW” getting 16th. “robbiedoo” was just a whisker behind in 17th, then a duo sprint off which saw “ChadRitchie” just finish in front of 19th place “lrollin”.

20th, and the last mention goes to “yayarecki” who deserves a mention as he was only just beaten by 19th, but well in front of 21st.

Well done to everyone tonight and please remember, you all beat the 7 who didn’t finish! Hope you got the points you wanted!

league table will be published tomorrow once i have the results in for the 2LATE4ME Races.

cheers everyone.

Pretty tough race this evening, after the great tour I did yesterday of 152km and 3070 D+, my legs were a bit stiff but the double appointment couldn’t be missed. I struggled a lot to hold on to a group of riders who usually have similar performances… I wanted to catch my breath to have a good finish, but then I waited a bit too much. Too bad I reached you late, maybe next time we’ll help each other 😜. (Neil, Jeff65, S. Ludford and Rens) 💪

  2. Steven Ludford says:

59 finishers, fantastic … and an average power over 300w still had me down at 37th position. Battling from start to finish, a big turnout really improves the racing experience. I hoped to do a little better on a flat..ish route that should suit me, put down double power at the start to put me in a fast bunch, the nearby list showed me hit 2nd position…then bang, big glitch…and I am instantly in 45th position and everyone is in the distance. I ‘blew the doors off’ to get back up to about 20th but couldn’t maintain the effort, dropping back into a really good group with teammates Mick, Ryan, Jeff, Neil, Rens plus Lamber Manuel which worked well together. As we got to the last mile we were down to 4 riders and I didn’t feel I had a sprint in me today so I went for the element of surprise and hit a 7w/kg effort, Mick was quick to react so I knew he had me beaten, then Ryan dug deep and came from further back impressively without any draft assistance to fly past me… it was just a case of holding what I had to the line. Tough race but exactly what I was looking for when I joined Rouvy.

What a shame about the glitch!!!!! i deffo still recommend map mode for the first mile or so while everything settles down as i think too much is going on at some points that the programme just can’t help glitching. But its just a guess….. You did amazing considering what happened then.

Watched the top 10 or so pull away after the start and looked around for a group to ride with. Settled in with Berty-Bassett6, rmadden1, and Tom-MWW (I think, sometimes hard to remember who was where) and thought we’d be a good group for the rest of the race. But then JoseCostaRonda came smoking by, and I was the only one able to grab his wheel. Hung on there until the Litchfield Hill; by then we’d caught hj2010 and AndiiiR (well, Jose had, I can’t take credit). Those three dropped me on the climb even though my HR was beyond maximum. adampel zipped by then as well. All very humbling. After the hill, I could see that Berty-Bassett6 was by himself and gaining, so I waited for him. It’s always easier to catch riders ahead or stay ahead of riders behind if you have someone to work with, and I knew we worked well together. Besides, he would have caught me anyway. Coming into the last km, I just knew Berty-Bassett6 would attack and gap me, but I also thought he’d not be able to keep it up and maybe I could reel him in again. Almost did! The finish banner came up just a little bit too soon.

Always see Jose blast through like a rocket, knowing he’s a strong rider, was hoping for a small team to work together but then when I saw Mike jump on Jose wheel it changed the dynamic and I feel Berty fall away too. Not sure why I dropped off the wheel at that point as felt reasonable throughout.
I didn’t make a large effort off the start line and tried not to overdo the climbs.
Lost three places in the last mile as a group sped through that had been behind the same gap the place in front had been for most of the route for me so a mainly solo effort again.

Great fun tonight, felt strong having recovered from a recent heavy cold, after a frantic start found myself riding with the cervelo boys ( Neil and Kyle),was pretty much on my limit cycling with better riders than myself. Thought I would be dropped midway after the climb, but managed to keep in a group with Steve,Mick, and Ryan, where we all shared the work up front( I did try). Steve put a massive effort with a mile to go, and I got spat out the back, still pleased with my efforts coming in front of Neil and Lamber

  6. Andy_UP says:

Started a bit too fast. I blame the number of riders. When you see you are not even top 20 and you usually end between 10 and 15, you think you have to go faster. After the hill I couldn’t hold the wheels on the flat and blew up. Lost a lot of positions, still, if you see who is behind me, those are names I have battled with in the past so I think I can’t be dissapointed too much. I didn’t have my day, as I felt I had nothing left for race 2. So the championship is gone 🙁

  7. Kyle Goodram says:

“OMG, nearly 60 finishers! Wow, what an amazing race, Muckers. I started off sitting in a large bunch at about 3.5W/KG and noticed that I was in 43rd position. Wait, 43rd with this power? Slowly, and I mean very slowly, the number became smaller until I found myself riding in a group with “Ghostkiller,” “rouvy1bryon,” and “runeholtzmann.” We must have ridden 11 miles together. To be honest, I was pushing as hard as I could. I didn’t really see how long we stayed together; I just wanted this race to end. “Another race after this… oh no!” I thought. I could see that we were catching up to “Andy_UP,” but at the last minute, he put in big numbers to stay ahead of us. Well done, everyone. This has to be one of the toughest races I’ve done on Rouvy. But now, I can pull 4.4W/KG on climbs where I couldn’t do that earlier in the year. Thanks for the fitness boost, Muckers.”

  8. Roy Madden says:

Went hard from the start trying to stay with the fastest guys but didn’t last very long probably shot a few bullets just doing that Mike hagen Bertty basset Tom _mww and probably a few others came up to me and it was OK for a while until a few surges that iwasn’t able for and dropped away I got into another group which in the end ended up denny44 and bling87 we worked to the finish happy to get in top 15 in the end great racing

I now know what you lot are up to ! Let the new boy do well in a couple of races then tear him apart ! I am broken . Strava has me doing 110% effort ( not sustainable or recommended ) try to help pull in any group I can but just not possible to do much more . Was in a small group of us for a fair while and me and Mike found ourselves riding together near the end , didn’t want it to come to a sprint and knowing I hadn’t pulled my weight , I upped it near the end thinking if I had broken etiquette that Mike would have time to fly by and punish me but as the line grew nearer I was still slightly infront and although gap was closing the end came just quick enough , I knew if he had got in the draft that was the end – trouble is , this was only half way , 10 mins rest then do it again -ha! Not a chance
