The Weekly Roundup

Muckers Weekly Round Up

It’s been another massive week in the world of cycling, with everything from grand tour transfers to epic gravel battles. We’ve sifted through the headlines to bring you the news that matters to our community of Muckers.

Gravel and Glory: Unbound and Beyond

The gravel scene continues to deliver incredible stories. Kiwi mountain biker Cam Jones, a wildcard entry, took a stunning victory at Unbound. The question on everyone’s lips is whether he can be the one to dethrone Keegan Swenson in the Life Time Grand Prix. We’ll be watching that battle closely!

In other off-road news, former mountain bike world champion Kate Courtney made her debut at the legendary Leadville 100. It’s great to see a rider of her caliber taking on such a grueling challenge. And for those who like to plan ahead, the popular SBT GRVL pro races will be returning to Steamboat Springs in 2026.

For the tech-heads, F1 driver Valtteri Bottas has a new signature Grail CFR VB 77 gravel bike from Canyon. It’s a beauty, and it’s always interesting to see what other sports stars are getting up to on two wheels.

Safety First: GPS Trackers and Rider Safety

In a move that will be welcomed by all, the UCI has announced that all riders will use GPS trackers at the 2025 World Championships. This comes after the tragic death of Muriel Furrer and is a significant step forward in rider safety.

Adventure and Adversity

The London-Edinburgh-London ultra-cycling event was hit by Storm Floris, with 100mph gusts forcing organizers to shorten the event. It’s a reminder of the brutal conditions we sometimes face as cyclists and the importance of respecting the power of nature.

Pro Tour Shake-ups

The pro-tour has been dominated by the news of Remco Evenepoel’s blockbuster transfer from Soudal Quick-Step to Red Bull-Bora-hansgrohe. This is a huge move that will reshape the peloton for years to come.

The Tour de France Femmes saw a historic victory for Pauline Ferrand-Prévot, who proved once again that she is one of the most complete riders in the world. And for those closer to home, the full route for the 2025 Tour of Britain Men has been announced, so you can start planning where you’ll be watching from.

That’s all for this week’s roundup. See you on the Trails, Road or Virtual Road.

Kyle Goodram

Kyle is a digital writer for MuckersWorldwide.com I've been out riding all over Greater Manchester, Lancashire and Cheshire for the last 12 years. It is mainly to keep fit as I love food and would be 16st if I didn't ride my bike at least 3 times a week. This leads me to Muckers Worldwide, as when the weather is un-rideable (fair weather cyclist) I move indoors to cycle on Rouvy. We have a large group of races that we race throughout winter in the UK. Hope you come and join us on a Tuesday & Thursday title of the races are "Muckers". Thanks, Kyle
