*New Rules coming in from the start of October! From the start of October, I need to be able to see your stats. So Please make sure we are friends on Rouvy. I also need to be able to see your heart rate data when I look at them so please be using one by the beginning of October. Failure to do this will just result in disqualification for my Special mentions in the Muckers race result, or any finishing position in a Muckers Championship. Thank you.*
So to tonight’s nice and almost flat 22 miler from the very strange Tri Drill Hard challenge. (strange as it had 3 totally random routes as far as i could see!) 32 of us on the start and all looking to get into a draft asap!!
A notable lack of the usual big hitters tonight so a chance for some new names on the podium and also the top 10! “Stefan793” got the gold tonight with a very strong ride to first. “Risckys_GURE” claimed a strong 2nd with “pawiverse.com” getting the Bronze!
Then we have a gap to 4th with the Canadian “flatrider” just getting the better of Mexican rider “Rivers_Mofeta_15” in 5th. Then in a little bit of no-mans-land comes the regualr french rider “lrollin” in 6th and in 7th came the top Muckers Worldwide rider “DonJulio” in his usual solo effort place😉, closely followed by team mate “tomlerieger” in 8th.
A fight for 9th now and the French rider “pasjordi60” just got the better of 10th placed, and last special mention, “neminemlaedere” who managed to stay in front of a trio on Muckers!
Thanks everyone for taking part and i hope you enjoyed the race and at least got a bit of draft!!

1st place!!!!! well, ok, it was only for about 5 seconds until “Mick” caught me up but i had my 5 seconds! i blame the chat for allowing me to come up with the idea for a 30 second flat out start!! Anyway, once we all bunched up, i was feeling slightly out of my depth but tried to keep in the draft for as long as i could. That ended up being about 3 miles! then i dropped down the order until i was caught by 14th and 15th place. so we all ride together and we sprinted it out for the little victory, which i won and claimed a nice 13th place. enjoyed that!
I did this route as an easy Z2 last week and thought “If I’m ever going to get another Muckers Top10 in my lifetime, this is the route”. So I stated I would go hot from the start and try for the 2nd group, however, our usual Top 5 (1st group) were not on the starting line and I ended up in massive 10 rider 1st group. It was a bit glitchy tonight, I could not see or draft the first 4 riders so had to mingle with the riders 5th-10th. Just before half distance I began to lose the wheels, luckily, latest MuckersWorldwide signing “Chad Ritchie” spotted my predicament and stayed with me riding 8th and 9th (I’m now dreaming of that Top10). Behind I could see another Mucker “tomlerieger” in a battle for 10th, once Tom had gapped the rider in 11th position I asked Chad to go easy and let Tom reach us, assuming Tom was going to need a rest and the 3 of us would be stronger together. It turned out Tom was going super strong and we actually ended up enjoying his draft (until I suddenly lost all draft…grrr). The lack of draft took its toll and eventually I had to let them go as “pasjordi60” & “neminemlaedere” were approaching at a rate that suggested a catch. With a mile to go my 10th became 12th and Chad dropped to 11th in the last half mile. I apologise to Chad, with hindsight, if I’d known Tom didn’t need a rest we could have powered on and become 3up a mile further on, and that extra mile could have made the difference … Oh well, every race is a lesson.
Neil, I also held the first place for only a few seconds. But hey, no one will take away this first place from us! What a fantastic feeling. Even if it was very short and at the beginning of the race 🤪😄
After that, I gradually fell back place by place. As expected. At some point in the middle of the race, I teamed up with kjohannessen. We formed a good draft. Alternating we took the lead, maintained a good pace, and were able to catch up to and overtake fets1984. Almost even more important: we could secure the distance to the guys behind us. At the finish line, we crossed it side by side, no sprint. I believe both of us thought: let’s finish it as a team, not as competitors. It was fun once again! kjohannessen, thank you for the great collaboration. Cheers Mich_Michel
An easy hr zone 3, bit zone 4 ride for me. Looked like a fun route to race, but it wasn’t the smart thing to do yesterday. See you on the next one!
I started the race with 2min delay, and without warmup. Then I tried alone to catch for 10min with 4.5w/kg power whoever who will cooperate to save little bit power. Somewhere before the half of race I catched kjohannessen, some minutes we cooperated, but suddenly and unfortunately he lost a strength. So I rode farther to catch Ryanio-Bianchi. Again we cooperated for a few minutes, but my target was to draft myself and Ryanio-Bianchi to the next group with Mucker1974, mareckii and runner2003. They were 300meters ahead of us, but it was too far for us, because we rode with similar power and we did not cut even one meter on 5 kilometers between us. I left Ryanio-Bianchi, increased the power and tried alone to catch this group in the last 2km. I cut some meters and a minute to finish, but being a lone rider in this race does mean anything. Thanks guys!
Started with a full 30‘‘ sprint and reached 2nd place, but hr was much too hight. Tried to draft during the downhill as much as possible between place 8 and 15 but suddenly I was alone! 200m in front of me I saw Ste and Chad and 100m behind me. Was not shure what to do, but when I saw Neil glitching I decided to close the gap to The group of Ste. During the long downhill the gap became even bigger, was about 300m before the road started to climb. I head to work hard at about 4W/kg, but I reached Ste and Chad. I had the impression they were tired so I worked a lot in front. But then on a steeper section they attacked me and I had to close another’s gap. As soon as I recovered I started a counter attack and finally I got rid of the two, but also end of my energy. DonJulio was 500m in front and 4km to go. Now way to catch him, so I secured my 8th from attacks from behind. Conclusions: final sprint is much better then start sprint and my legs are still a bit tired from the Tuesday races, when I go deep. But was a nice and intensive race and I got a mention: mission accomplished! Tom
Apologies, definitely not an attack Tom, I always get dropped on sharp hills and attack them out of the saddle so I can still be in touch with my group when it catches me again at the ‘peak’. It is a shame we were unable to communicate that situation as really wanted to stay as a ‘3’ to keep the Muckers ahead of the guys who took 9th & 10th.
Ste, I thought you took my „let’s have a battle“ for serious. Maybe we should organise a team building event in a pub in Bolton for bether racing! Will ask our boss (Neil) for a suggestion. Next time we can heck out a team strategy and tactics! Have a good weekend Ste! Cheers Tom
Meeting in a pub in Bolton sounds like a great team strategy to me.
The Thursday race was more of a relaxed ride for me. My goal was to stay in Zone 2 to 4. I joined the Discord Voice chat with “Andy_UP” and had a chat with him throughout the race. I overtook a few racers and let a few pass me. Other than that, not much else happened. Looking forward to seeing you all next week.
