Rare night with no challenge routes left to schedule so lets get a crit in while we can! We weren’t sure how popular this was going to be with it being our first race night without a challenge route used, and as the day went on, the number stayed in the 30s which is more than enough, it’s just this race works so much better with as many riders on as possible. We got to the start line and we had 50 there! what a great surprise and the heat was now on for a top 20 mention!
Top 4 were in another league! but at least they all were having a great race all the way which ended with “Tuden” claiming 1st. Just in front of “Simon_Hahnenbruch” in 2nd and “adampel” in 3rd. “Karel_sousek” came over the line 4th, but just 3 seconds later!
A 2 minute gap and we have a trio of riders coming over the line with Muckers Worldwide team rider “nielsbrynnum” leading them over in 5th, then the French duo of “stephane-martin” in 6th and “pasjordi60” in 7th.
60 seconds later we have the next bunch of riders! 6 this time! The winner of this little bunch comes “Henri_81” in 8th, “transberg” in 9th, “Gazinho” in 10th, “Grochang” in 11th, “robbiedoo” in 12th then just off these guys “lrollin” in 13th.
Next a duo of Muckers Worldwide riders in what looks like a little bit of no mans land with “denny44” in 14th and “MikeHagen” in 15th. Sprint finish next for 16th which was won by “AntoninP3” who just piped Muckers team rider “Svard” into 17th, with team mate “Andy_UP” just a few seconds behind in 18th.
19th comes “chorus” with a strong rider to finish a good 40 seconds in front of the muckers worldwide sprint off for the last of the mentions, which goes to “Rens_Piccavet” with a great ride to 20th place.
Well done to all you guys for getting a mention tonight as that was a tough 20 lap race! Please have a little look at our store as we have created a special T-Shirt in as many different languages as possible to celebrate getting a mention! You deserve one after that race!!
And well done to everyone who completed this and we really hope you enjoyed it?? let us know in the comments if you did or not, and also how it went for you. Please also take the time to have a look at the Blog on the website about the new rules coming in at the start of October.
Sorry about the live stream crashing. we are looking into why this happened.
And finally, as I’ve not said this is a while, remember if you’ve completed a Muckers Race, you are now more than welcome to take the team name! And if you’ve found yourself joining our races for a while now, and fancy getting involved in the group chat and banter, then send me a message with your mobile number and we will add you to the WhatsApp group. If you don’t fancy that, we are on discord now and have our own group on Strava so seek us out there if you want to be a part of this.
Cheers everyone and see you on the Next Race on Thursday!

26th! And wow what a challenge. was doing quite well for the first 9 laps, then something felt odd in my left leg so had to just back off on the stood up, big effort, uphill section which sucked. But I’d have probably only lasted another 2 or 3 laps at that intensity anyway, but its such a good test and glad we did it. I was also 2 minutes faster over the whole 20 laps than the last time we did this so i really can’t complain about it all really can i, but, i know i could have done better and that never sits right does it!
Thanks for the great race 👍😁🙋♂️
Really enjoyed this crit, not sure how many times I was lapped by the leaders ( 4? ), but found myself chasing Mucker1974, and avoiding Slyfly catching me. Also improved my race time by 1min 50 secs, from my last outing,so pretty pleased as I was riding solo most of the time. Many thanks for organising these events.
Criterium race in Bad H(a-o)mburg, famous place with healing water and rich history! Top guns on startlist led by local celebrity Simon H. Then Tuden, Adam and my little, just pre-heated after late summer evening running. First laps were frenetic and chaotic, many attacks and it took almost half of the race, once it calmed down a bit. I wanted to try something, as on descent everyone was resting before next round, but got two little cramps. Big finale is coming, huge surge by Tuden, followed by others. With little boy 550w peak power you can’t win, so potato medal for tonigh’s super exciting race. Thank you all!
Now a crit race, and it’s gonna be fun! And it was! All our pre-race chatter of strategy and tactics out the window when the race started; just go – go – go. When things settled, it was the four top guns at the front, a group of three (four, actually, until Lee pulled up), and then the group of seven I was in. I felt pretty good. I felt confident and looking forward to the sprint for 8th place. I thought maybe one or two or thee might fall off the back due to the pace. But only one did, and Ack, it was me! Just ran out of gas and my lap times cratered by 10 seconds. Sigh. That was with 6 laps to go. After that, watched behind as denny44 suddenly surged away from Andy_UP, made up a couple hundred meters on me, sat on my wheel for a bit of a rest, and blasted off on the last lap. Good job everyone. We need to do that again.
The evening’s first race out of two, probably looked a bit boring at first glance. Fortunately, this was put to shame when we first got started. A long string of short laps with a small increase at the end of each round. The start was a hectic affair, and a number of laps had to pass before the front group was formed. This group came to consist of 4 riders. Karel š, Simon Hanebruch, Adam pel, and myself. The funny thing about this route is that at some point you start to overtake the slower riders. And at the end of the route, there are riders all over the place. Really fun as they also give a short term draft. Well, back to the race. There was movement to the right and left and there was movement on the hill. However, except for Adam who is really not interested in being ahead of anything at any time. No one was really put off, at least not more than they could get back relatively quickly. But on the second last hill I launched my attack. And I got a hole of about 50m quite easily when the other snorers were asleep. After that I just had to go to the last hill and drive to the finish line. Just before the hill I had 70m, I’m sure of it, and it looked like the three pursuers were stalking each other. So I let off the gas as there was plenty of distance to them to drive home safely. Don’t know if I had a technical issue because all of a sudden they were only 10m behind me with 150m to the line. So there was nothing else to do but to throw the chain all the way down on the rear wheel, and sprinted the best I’ve learned. Fortunately, it was enough to just grab the win. Super cool route and concept that we can easily drive again👍👍
This was a fun race. I knew I would be blown away by most but the fact that its laps meant I could draft faster riders as they lap me. I used that to my advantage.
I finally fell into a rhythm after the 10th lap and had a little battle with R3-Luca. We went back and forth for a couple laps until he was gassed up the hill and I kept pushing. The next target was mareckii. He was a third of a mile in front of me but I kept pushing and managed to get within 700 feet. We were stuck at that distance for a few laps but then I got passed by the leaders going up the hill. I jumped up on their wheels and pushed as hard as I could to get up in their draft going downhill. I managed to get in long enough to quickly make up 500 feet on mareckii. Although I was gassed, I couldn’t show it or he’d go. I think my ploy worked and I surprised him, passed him and kept going. I had two laps to go to try and keep him behind. I was watching his power numbers to make sure I’d stay ahead but I don’t think it would have mattered, I was on a mission. I was riding to the end super strong to show myself I could. There would be no way I’d let him catch me.
31st place and super happy. It was an incredible effort, matching my FTP.
First Muckers event for me. Enjoyed it! Was a tasty little lap with half uphill and half downhill. Look forward to giving some more events a go with you lot.
First time for me in a repeated circuit, I thought well come on it’ll pass quickly and even if I’m not a sprinter we’ll try to assert ourselves… Well first laps in full swing, then we found ourselves in a Muckers group of 4 all together with try to help out with Rens, Kyle, Neil and maybe Mat. At a certain point I no longer understood anything, riders everywhere, forward, backward, the first ones passed like missiles, riders nailed down due to internet problems 🤣. The only thing I understood was that I could no longer keep up with Rens and Kyle and therefore the possibility of a mention disappeared… but I had fun… 💪🤙
crit race, now I know this is going to be hard, not got to much fitness at the moment be here goes. all out from the start but the pace was hot slowed down a little lol and pushed on to the finish. top race thanks
First MUCKERS race for me and crit on Rouvy, I must say I absolutely loved it !! I’m certainly not the biggest fan of racing uphill and I think this time of race definitely adds a nice mix to the setup, certainly a lot more tactics were needed than a w/kg battle and that’s what made it more exciting. It’s so much better than RGT or zwift the real life footage is the biggest draw for me and at the same time it runs very smooth which certainly is a lot more realistic. Please add me to the what’s app group.
Funny type of race, – I thought viewing the starting grid and the layout of the circuit, that I most likely was going to by in a group with strong engines like Berty_Basset, Grochang, Tranberg, MikeH and Denny. As the gun went off, I made it too the top of the first hill section in the leading group, but coming into the 2 or 3 round I realised that my legs still lacking a lot of power in order to stay with the strong guys in front 💪. After being dropped by the front pack, a chasing group was gathered with myself, stephane-martin and pasjordi60. I was hoping that our group at least could have worked together and kept a leash in the front group and not just let them fly away. But out of 17 rounds pasjordi60 only saw the backside of my avatar and nearly the same can by said by stephane-martin. Felt like leading a French convoy 🚚 🚌🚌 💨 💨💨 So coming into the last round I was eager not to be out sprinted by my trailers 😉 At last 1 km I thought that the French guys most likely was aiming for a sprit finish at the hill section towards the finishline, so with 450 m to go I launched my sprint with the aim of creating a gap and maintain it to the finish line. Pleased to see all the Danes 💪and super strong ride by Tuden 🥇
First of two races tonight. The first one was a crit race, and I had never done one of these before. It consisted of 20 laps, each just under a mile long with 50 feet of climbing. So, by the end of it, it worked out to nearly 20 miles and 1000 feet of climbing. It’s not really my thing, but I wanted to give it a try.
Neil kept saying to give it everything on the first loop so that I could get into a good group. The countdown began, 3, 2, 1, GO… I gave it everything and got into a group with “Muckers1974,” “Rens,” and “Squalo_delle_Alpi.” The loop included a 700-foot uphill section followed by downhill and flat terrain. Each lap, I would pull away slightly on the uphill, but everyone would catch me on the flat and downhill portions.
“Mucker1974” dropped off after about 7 laps. Then, after 15 laps, “Squalo_delle_Alpi” did the same. That left just the two of us. With 5 laps to go, “Ren” was content sitting on my wheel the whole time. I tried to drop him on the hill, but he stuck with me. I had a feeling that on the last lap, he would unleash his power and drop me. And that’s exactly what happened.
If he wasn’t a Mucker, I would have been more disappointed that he took my 20th place and got a mention in the race report. But since he is, I’m happy for him. Now, he’ll have to buy one of the Mucker Mention T-Shirts though. 😉
it will be my next purchase as a reward for the first chance I get to be close to you 🤣. The second race went better, but since I haven’t seen the report… I’ll just mention 8th 🤣😜. See you next challenges 💪
Had a plan to follow Denny. He told us he was going to start fast, so I started between 5 & 6w/kg. Turns out it wasn’t enough, so I chased his group for 1.5 laps before I could settle in the draft. Denny never complains, or not actively to me, we both know he is far stronger than me. Went up the hill between 4 & 5 w/kg, down around 2w/kg. Could follow his wheel untill lap 14. I let him go and soon Svard and Antonin closed the gap to me. I stayed with them and I didn’t have a strong sprint anymore so ended behind them. Still very happy with the 50 starters so I got a mention!
My only game plan was to go hard for the first 30s and latch onto a group I really didn’t care what position I was in. After 40s I was still punching thinking I’m sure this will end soon, thankfully I found the 2nd group which worked at a good pace. Almost on the verge of being dropped I knew I couldn’t really lead from the front. As there was no realistic chase we just settled in at 300+w for the next 19 Laps. Holding 4.2wkg on the climbs and drafting on the descent to get enough strength to do the climb again. It is a wicked course and certainly does not favour the heavy watt monsters with an average on 315w I was struggling to keep up with our group.
Back to the Muckers races after a short break. Today it was an easy pace. I had agreed with my offline and real world training buddy “J.Oetting” that we would do the race together, side by side. And so we did, easy peasy. It was interesting to see the muckers top stars overtaking us all the time. Awesome speed! I would love to do a lap race like that again. It was really fun!
