MUCKERS 2025 SUNDAY HILL CLIMB EVENT.
Here’s the what, why and how about the 2025 Muckers Sunday Hill Climbs:
History.
Since we started organizing races on ROUVY, we always scheduled something on a Sunday morning just in case we never got out in the real world due to Bolton usually only having 3 Sundays a year when its not actually raining!! So we’d arrange a longish ride, weeks in advance so the numbers might get over 10 riders and we can at least do something with a bit of a crowd rather than go out and get drenched.
We’d call them Sunday Socials or Muckers hill climbs depending on what they were, but like everything else that you create on a regular basis, others start to trust they will be there no matter what, and over time they got more and more popular.
We soon got into using the bigger challenge routes on Sundays so we could leave the “shorter” ones for the weekday slots and as most of you know, ROUVY do like to throw in some big hill climbs into there challenges don’t they!! So it feels like most of 2024 we created hill climbs rather than socials but its just a feeling…
Personally, even though i am not the fastest, these are the events i started to look forward to the most in 2024. The feeling on a Saturday night, knowing i had a 6000ft climb to tackle the next morning was so much better than when I’m lining up for a race. Again, this is just my personal feelings. I love racing and have had some amazing battles in race events, but you always know you are going to finish them. a 6000 footer, well, you just “hope” you do.
The Event itself
The principle is still that these “races” are set up in case you can’t get out in the real world. So we expect the numbers to drop in the Summer but we will still keep them scheduled even if we aren’t expecting to do them all. But please don’t get all stressed or anxious about them. Its only a training app and we are just trying to make it a bit more interesting. Coming in 1st place at the end of the year just means you didn’t get out as much as you should have 😂, if you get what we mean?
We have teamed up with the amazing people at NITEOR and asked them to create a GC based on elevation only and they have done so!
Why just elevation? here are the main reasons:
- The most important aspect to us for the Muckers Sunday Hill Climb is to complete it! Not how fast. But cyclist turn everything into a “who’s fastest” don’t they, so you can still look at that on ROUVYs leaderboard, but on our NITEOR event, its all about whos climbed the highest over the year.
- It’s just a great way to keep a Sunday record of how high you’ve climbed over the whole year on ROUVY
- Blatant Cheaters don’t ruin the event! as again, you are working towards the elevation total, not time. Yes they will possibly still be there on the race itself but just use them for motivation and at least you know that they won’t be included in the NITEOR standings. We can’t ban anyone from racing on ROUVY. It is not an option. But we can at least blacklist riders on NITEOR which is what we need.
Rules:
- This NITEOR event is smart trainer only
- Its important you pick the right version of the climb as we will have 2 Sunday hill climbs running when its a Muckers challenge route event. So first up we have an “all trainer” option, but starts earlier on a Sunday as we still want to offer the chance to those on dumb trainers to do the challenge route BUT it will NOT be included in the NITEOR event. So if you are on a dumb trainer, or you just want to get the climb started an hour earlier and not bothered about your elevation going to your total, then you can start an hour earlier! The one at 9:15/9:30 will be the NITEOR one. If you are unsure you are on the version that gets its elevation added up, the best way to be 100% sure is to go through NITEOR itself as all the links to the correct race will be there.
- If you pick the wrong one, we can’t/won’t do anything about it. You have been warned (brutal but this really isn’t something we want to be messing about with for hours afterwards because you made a silly mistake, it really isn’t that important!
- Its labeled as a “Race” in name only. If we could get challenge credit on group rides then we’d call it that, but you can’t, so it has to be created as a “Race”
- We reserve the right to remove anyone from this NITEOR event who’s completed this in an unrealistic time. You are probably wondering why as we’ve already said it’s all about the elevation, and it is, but if a rider decides they want to smash up a 3 hour climb in an hour and still be compared to the rest of us, then they are in the wrong event. There’s some dodgy riders and even dodgier trainers out there and we will be watching.
- We will look into any blatant cheaters and remove such riders from the whole event. But if you have an issue with another rider just because they’ve just beat you up the climb, then that’s your issue to take up with the rider or ROUVY as we are only interested in the elevation aspect and trying to encourage and help each other complete the route. Muckers Sundays are not about racing, so if YOU choose to treat it as such, then that’s on you and not a stick to beat us with. Don’t join in if you can’t accept that is our position, there’s plenty other races out there in ROUVY land that you can take part in.
- No prizes for this event. Its just a way to add a “leaderboard” to the Sunday hill climbs.

https://www.niteor.com/events/MUCKERS%20SUNDAY%20HILL%20CLIMBS
You will see from the link that the first 2 Sundays are set up as you’d think, using challenge routes and at the usual 9:15 time slot, but the 3 after are from the OMG World Tour event which are all hill climbs but not challenge routes and are at 9:30am instead. We might find ourselves using someone else’s events again in the future, especially if it meets our criteria as we can do one big event rather than 2 different ones at around the same time.
Any and all changes or updates will be here on muckersworldwide.com
So that’s how the Sunday Hill climb races/event for 2025 will work. This is totally different to the Muckers 2025 Championship, but as that doesn’t start till February, keep an eye out for the blog explaining how that’s going to work and differ from the 2024 version.
Thanks in advance. Mucker1974.
STANDINGS AFTER THE FIRST 5 HILL CLIMBS!
5 Sundays have been and gone since we started this and we thought It’d be nice to do a quick update.
We’ve had 5 really nice climbs, 2 Challenge routes to start with then 3 that were part of the OMG event so were classic climbs picked by that race organizer but fitted in perfectly for us.
Most riders have joined this NITEOR version so they were included in the leaderboard, but we have also had a few turn up for the early version which isn’t included here but it will still get you the challenge credit ticked off.
So after 5 climbs, we’ve had 182 riders finish at least one climb and get themselves on the leaderboard. Remember, if you quit the route, you don’t get added, so even if you managed 2000ft before you quit, if you don’t cross the line, its a 0 on here.
12 riders in equal first after 5 rides is more than we expected. Statistically, right now, all these riders will win this is they do every Sunday Hill climb for the rest of the year lol. But this can’t happen can it? This really is going to get more and more interesting the further we go, especially when people miss certain ones but can turn up for others that might not be as high as the one they missed. stage 6 is the massive col du telegraph which will give you an even more massive 6864ft to you score, unlike last week which was “only” 3545ft. As we go into summer, it’ll definitely get more strategic on which you complete as you try to stay in this top 50 on the blog (you never know, we might even award some discount vouchers for the Muckers shop to the top 50 at the end of the year if this goes well…. might) For example, if you look at places 22nd to 25th, they’ve all completed 3 out of the 5, but they’ve done 3 different combinations of climbs to get totally different elevation scores.
we are already excited to see what this leaderboard looks like after the next 5 hill climbs, which are all from the Haute challenge on ROUVY!

UPDATE TO STANDINGS AFTER 10 CLIMBS/WEEKS!
Wow time really does fly! I can’t believe its been another 5 weeks since our last update!
The Haute challenge really helped to keep the routes chosen as challenge routes so we’ve not had to throw any non-challenge ones in yet. But we are looking a little light on the challenge front right now and only have next weeks sorted and we have fingers crossed for a tough challenge to get released soon. Any route that goes over 3000ft and it’ll be in, like next weeks that’s from one of the Mallorca challenges.
We do have some favorites up out sleeves so please don’t think we won’t put anything on, they just might get arranged last minute as we try to give ROUVY as much time as possible to release a challenge that might have a route or two we can use.
So last time we reported 182 riders had at least done 1 climb after 5 events. Now after 10 events we have had 271 finish at least 1 climb.
Last time we had 12 riders in joint first place. Now this is down to 6!
Top placed rider for 9 completed climbs is 7th, 8 completed climbs is 9th, 7 completed climbs is 10th, 6 completed climbs is 14th, 5 completed climbs is 15th, 4 completed climbs is 23rd, 3 completed climbs is 29th, 2 completed climbs is 45th and the highest place rider having only completed 1 climb is 98th! That means we have 173 riders who have just 1 climb on the board and they can jump up so much by just doing a few more!
Well done and thank you to all who are having a go at this. I really wasn’t expecting 6 riders to have done all the climbs so far so lets see how this looks in another 5 weeks…..
UPDATE AFTER 15 SUNDAY HILL CLIMBS:
15 weeks completed (although if you look at NITEOR it will say 19 have been run. This because on weekend 12 we gave everyone 5 options of different elevations to chose from (but we had to load them up as stages 12 to 16) We chose routes that were all 1000ft difference, and ones that had the best ratings/least number of friends completed so at least it turned into a route you’d be doing for the first time as-well just to give it that extra pull. It proved to be a great success, especially on the chat on Facebook and the WhatsApp chat as riders were trying to figure out who was going to do which climb, then everyone picked an elevation they thought they could do and jumped on that event. We had 2 riders do option 1 which was the lowest elevation at 3031ft of climbing and 4 rider completed option 2 which was 4091ft of climbing. Weirdly option 3, which was 5023ft of climbing had no one complete for that one, but option 4 which was 6053ft had 10 finishers! So what of option 5? 7195ft of climbing all in?? Well, we had the biggest amount of finishers here with 11! That was one tough climb but what a figure to add to your total!! none of these numbers include all those that didn’t finish either so it just shows there’s an audience out there for these Big climbs, and for the most, the bigger the better!!
We will do this again in the future, and we will make sure none of the routes are repeated…. apart from option 3 seeing as no one completed that one the first time around, we might throw that one in again as its meant to be a great route!
1 Rider has now completed all 15 climbs, it was 3 before the latest event, but 2 of those (including myself) weren’t able to join.
last time we reported 271 riders had completed at least 1 climb of the 10, we now have 368!
As you can see from the top 50 table below, its now getting really varied and not many on the same elevation totals as everyone starts doing different elevations depending on which weekend they can join us.
But the more you do the easier it is to start climbing. We have 256 riders who have all only completed 1 climb. So if any of those guys jump on another, and there combined total is over 6,912ft (112 placed rider “primolo”) then they’ll jump up so many place!
But this also means that this top 50 below is now going to take “some” dedication to get into. But all you’ve gotta do is string a few weekends together and you’ll soon be in it! 32nd place to 80th is so close with a mix of 3 and 4 climbs completed (remember we have had 15 climbs so far) that you can soon get yourself in the mix.
See you in 5 weeks for the week 20 update!
UPDATE AFTER 20 SUNDAYS THIS YEAR:
20 weekends have been and gone already this year! This is now getting really interesting (to me anyway lol) as we now start to see less and less riders on-line and at the events now. So we can have 30 turn up, but 5 might be new to the event, and the others are scattered all over the 444 places on the leaderboard!
No one has completed all 20 weekends, but 3 riders are still in the top 3 places having missed only 1 weekend each, all be it a different weekend so that’s why their totals are all different. So as i like to compare with 5 weeks ago, lets run down the stats:
we had 368 different riders last time having completed at least 1 climb, we now have 444.
highest placed rider with just 1 climb? 128th. | highest placed rider with 2 climbs? 74th. | highest place with 3 climbs? 39th (they must have done the 3 with the most elevation!) | highest place rider with 4 climbs? 35th | highest with 5 climbs? 25th | highest place for 6 climbs? 18th | highest place for 7 climbs? 17th | highest place for 8 climbs? 16th | highest place for 9 climbs? 12th | highest place for 10 climbs? is into the top 10! So the rest are all in the top 10, which just shows that if you get a decent run together, you will soon be featured in the top 100 Run down we will do every 5 weeks!
See you in 5 weeks for week 25 report!
WEEK 25 REPORT:
We had 444 riders complete at least 1 climb at our last report, as of week 25 we’ve had 475.
332 of these have only done 1 climb so if any of these jump on another 1 or 2 in the next 5 weeks, they could see a massive change in position! The average of the top rider is 4292ft per event finished, so even if someone came in right now, did the next 5 and they added up as per the average figure of 21,460, that would be enough to easy get into the top 50! This is still wide open for the top 50 places!
Decided to add a movement tab today…. that took ages 😂 but glad I’ve added it now as i can clearly see who’s made the best gains over the last 5 weeks and whos dropping! Those with a “+” means they weren’t even in the top 100 last time so i can’t go back and see how low they actually were, but well done to 50th place “NikHall” who’s moved up a minimum of 50 places in the last 5 weeks.
Nice work by Mucker1974, sunniva, Grochang and Southafro for getting an increase in position in a very tough top 10 and then for the top 50 we have some big jumps for the likes of Chrisuan, HelmSyerforest and Manuche!
51st to 100th see’s big jumps for the following: SwissChris69, PJB55, JollyJoey, IRONSAN73, AndyH-ICC, advo and J_Pedro!!
Some big names are ready to drop out of the top 100 but if you are one of those who have dropped, all it takes is 1 or 2 climbs and you are back into safety!
See you in 5 weeks for week 30 report!
WEEK 30 (27TH JULY) REPORT AND TOP 50 LEADERBOARD:
We will now just concentrate on the Top 50 as we are now well past half way through the year, But even after 30 weeks, you could still be in this leaderboard having done only 4 climbs with us, such is the number of riders out there who have only done 1 or 2 so far!
161 riders have done 2 or more climbs, So its still very easy to get into the top 1/3 of the table with 2 or 3 climbs still.
506 different riders have joined us for at least one Sunday Hill climb this year. 4 riders have now smashed through the 100,000 feet barrier since the last report. Massive increase in places for albepigo and Frank.y which just shows, if you string together 4 or 5 of these Hill Climbs, you will jump up quite alot. It just gets harder as you get closer or actually into the Top 10 as most of these riders are here every week or just miss 1 or 2, So we have to give special mentions to Southafro, simonjp, Linv and S.Ludford for increasing there positions in the top 20!
My personal hope is we have a top 50 with 50th place having to have done at least 10 climbs to be there by the end of the year.🤞🤞🤞 lets see…..
WEEK 36 (7TH SEPTEMBER) REPORT. SORRY, A WEEK LATE BUT WAS ON HOLIDAY
539 different riders have joined us now for a Sunday Hill Climb! That’s an increase of 33 new riders since the last update.
We are still hoping we end the year with 50th place having done at least 10 climbs but as of this report, its 4 (last report we had a 3 climbs completed rider still in the top 50 ) and now the 50th place ft climbed is 18,979.66 which is up 688.98ft.
Top 10 threshold has now increased to 61765 (up 5964ft) and the top 25 threshold is now 34963 (up 4028ft)
Top 4 had already smashed through 100.000 feet, we now have 6 riders that have done that!!
The leader of the GC in the last report (Me) missed 3 climbs whilst on Vacation so he/me is now in 3rd place 😓. bikeanddogtrips has taken over top spot now (mustn’t be many bike or dog trips happening on Sunday mornings 😉) and sunniva 2nd.
Only other movement in the top 10 is simonjp who gets into 10th, the biggest jump up mentions go to El_Tractor and frank.y who both have moved up 7 spots each, then we have 2 new entries into the top 50 for madein1971 and SoLa Ma
well done everyone and lets see how things look at week 40!
WEEK 40 REPORT! (ONLY 12 WEEKS LEFT!)
614 riders now have an elevation on the GC leaderboard which is a massive increase of 75 new riders joining in compared to the last report. This will have a lot to do with the new PM time slot we’ve added in the last few weeks which was requested by a lot of riders out there. Seems to be a hit even though its been added quite late into the year, but, it will be included fully for next year.
We will do our next report when we hit climb 50. Will we actually get 50th place having done over 10 stages?? I really hope so, but it also shows that you could still join now, do the next 12 and possibly still get into the to 50!!
Well done to “sunniva” for taking up the head of the GC! having only missed 4 rides so far this year, its now hers to loose! Is she free for the next 12 weekends? If not, “bikeanddogtrips” is ready to pounce!
Lets do our usual stats checks shall we:
50th place ft climbed is now 21286.09ft (an increase of 2306.43ft) and the lowest number of completed stages in the top 50 is 5 (it was 4 at the last report)
Top 10 threshold is now 69038.71ft (an increase of 7273.62ft) and the top 25 threshold is now 38139.76ft (an increase of 3175.85ft)
We now have 7 riders that have cracked the 100,000ft barrier!
And we now have 7 new entries into this top 50 part of the GC.
See you after hill climb 50!
RESULTS AFTER HILL CLIMB 50 COMPLETED (9/11/25)
Wow, that crept up on us but those double headers soon rack up the climbs so lets do a quick review after climb 50 is completed.
“sunniva” stays up top and has now pulled out a very nice gap that she could have a week off and still be in the lead! I’ve moved up to 2nd (just) and the only other movement in the top 10 is “Grochang” getting past “Southafro” for 6th. But just look at all the movement from 20th and below!! Those Guys who love the “PM” slot are already starting to make some inroads now, so it’s getting busy down there!
special mentions to “stfmgr_65” for climbing up 29 places since last check in, “Alex79WestFR” for jumping up 17 places and last special mention to “MikeHagen” for a new entry into the top 50 at 35th place!
ok, stats check:
822 different riders have at least completed 1 Muckers Sunday Hill climb this year and are on the leaderboard!
half way (so 411th places is only @ 4347.11 feet )
To get into the top 25% of the GC you only needed to have climbed 7201.44 feet so far this year!
50th place climbed total is now 24,471 (increase of 3185 feet)
lowest number of completed climbs in the top 50 is still only 5! (only 1 rider so he must have only done the 5 tallest… must have!!)
Top 10 cut off is now 86197.51 (a massive increase of 17,158.8 feet since last check in)
top 25 cut off is now 41,292.65 (gone up about the same as last check in with an increase of 3152.89 ft.
So i am still left wondering if: 1: can we get everyone in the top 50 over 10 climbs? and 2: Will everyone in the top 10 get over 100k ft climbed?? Luckily we have a few double headers coming up so it won’t be too long till i do another check in when we’ve finished climb 55.
See you soon!
RESULTS AFTER HILL CLIMB 55 COMPLETED. (LAST REPORT BEFORE THE FINAL ONE!)
A couple of double headers means stage 55 has now been and gone and its time for another re-cap, the last one before we do the very final one after Sunday the 28th of December.
Its great to see so much movement in the top 50, especially worthy to note is EddyDomino getting into a podium place and also barttt moving up 1 place in the top 10 as well. MikeHagen jumps up an impressive 11 places, with Noobnumberone moving up an impressive 14 places! Well done you you all, and all those that have moved UP or are NEW into the top 50. the question is can you keep that position or keep that momentum going for a few more weeks?
So stats check:
Just 1 more rider left in the top 10 to get over 100k ft climbed! We can do this!!
12 riders left in the top 10 in single digit climbs completed! can we get everyone into double digits???
1069 riders have completed at least 1 climb with us so far this year! (UP 247 since the last report)
50th place rider is now at 28444 (UP 3973ft since last report)
Lowest number of completed climbs in the top 50 is 7 (UP 2 since last report)
Top 25 cut off is now 44881ft (UP 3589ft since last report)
Top 10 cut off is now 99022 (UP 12825ft since last report)
Good Luck with the remaining climbs of the year, especially the very last one!!!!
FINAL RESULTS FOR 2025!
Well, its finally over for this year. Every Sunday we climbed, using a challenge route as often as possible, some Muckers created routes and then some interesting Norwegian climbs as well. One week 12 we gave everyone 5 options on what to climb, (with most picking the tallest) and recently we have been doing a few double headers just so we got that fix of over 3000ft in our legs.
The concept was simple and seemed to have worked really well. Just counting elevations rather than time, just saw people focus on getting to the top and not how fast. Yes, some went for it, but most just set off, hit as many Kudos thumbs up as possible then settled into the task ahead.
And then we ended the event by using the Muckers End of Year Big Race route which was the 111 mile and nearly 5000ft Finland TT route! All in, if you’d have done all the climbs you’d have won. 56 opportunities to get the elevation up. So, how did you do?
The Winner of the event is Sunniva! completing an amazing 53 climbs and getting an elevation total over 200,000ft (62,400m) this determined rider wasn’t the fastest up the climbs but very strong and very consistent. She had the title in the bag before the last 111 miler and could have sat it out and still won, but this just proves her character that she turned up for this one as our Sunday Hill Climb wouldn’t have been the same if she wasn’t there. Well done and our friends at ROUVY have offered to unlock any virtual item from the garage for you, and also grant you 1500XP. let us know at info@muckersworldwide.com which item you’d like unlocking for free and we will let them know.
2nd was me. So no need to type about that. lol. it was an event i loved and i do love climbing, so i had to do well!
3rd was EddyDomino with 51 completed stages! Consistent rider who was always there or there about as the year went along and finally got into the top 3 at the last report and stayed there to the end. ROUVY would also like to award you with unlocking anything you like from the virtual garage and also award you 500XP

We weren’t expecting anything at all from ROUVY for this championship so it’s great they also want to say well done as well.
The whole leaderboard is available on NITEOR at the following link:

We start afresh on Sunday the 4th of January and this year we have both AM and PM start times running all year so competition will be tighter as the PM version has prooven to be really popular since we introduced it in the 3rd quarter of this year. GC based on elevation again and hopefully we can smash through the taller challenge routes together for another year.
Top 100 table below and you will see you don’t need to do many climbs throughout the year to included here, but 1250 riders did do at least 1 climb with us which is pretty decent for a climbing event so all you guys below were in front of 1150 other riders!
We here at Muckersworldwide would like to offer the riders from 11th to 50th a 10% discount on purchases from the Merch shop. Please get in touch at info@muckersworldwide.com letting us know your rider name, event you took part in and your email address and we will send you the code

Sunday social became my favourite serie. I don’t need to fight with myself to do quickiest time and I can ride in my own pace, or try whatever I want. Now it looks That I’ll stop at 14 and the 15th one I’ll miss out.
I know that it would be an extra work, but.. Neil didn’t you think about second slot in the evening time? For the Northamericans and for possibility do the event when someone is out of home for weekend? Just a little question. 🤫
hi, i am thinking of a saturday slot, as Sunday afternoons are quite busy as it is and don’t want to tread on any other organizers toes. But Saturday seems to be quiet so might do an early and late Saturday one next year.
decided on Sunday lol! spoke to GRC and we are gonna go for an hour after there Sunday Short Race to try and Make Sunday afternoons the prime time for the Autumn and Winter!
good news for me
Because from spring to autumn I need to work in my cottage. so I won’t need to take my trainer there. 🤦
Hello Neil,
Do you plan to create special events for the two 100 miles challenges (Nice & Kona)? Perhaps use the sunday hill climb place to integrate them? I would be great to spend 6 to 8 hours with all mucker friends 🙂
Hi Dominigue, thank you for the question. I am agonizing over this! lol I’ve already scheduled the Marbella one as i think that one is ok, but the other 2 i feel are just too long. I’ve already set up the very last race of the year to be a big IronMan race (Finland) so i also feel it would take some of the shine away from that event as that one should be the pinacol-end of year-big ride!
I also don’t feel they are strictly Sunday Hill climb rides, too long for a lot of people. I kinda want to set them up as a just ride and let everyone know the time we want to set off so at least everyone can load up 50 VPs and also have there 10 ghosts along for the ride as well. I for one would hate to do this solo at the back all the way after setting it up as a race and only 5 riders turn up. it’d be horrendous.
But as you can see from above, i am still agonizing over what to do…….
I think Dominique is kind of hoping that these long routes will help him climb higher in the Sunday rankings. Did I guess right, Dominique? :)))
But don’t worry, guys, my family plans will mean I’ll miss a few Sundays (maybe even 2 in this month) and I’ll soon give you back your top 3 spots.
For now, let me enjoy this a bit 🙂
I’m weaker than you, and we all know it 🙂
You didn’t guess right, because you are a tenacious opponent! Moreover, the classification of this event is really nice: just finish the route and you have the points, the elapsed time doesn’t matter, this is a really nice concept. You *really* deserve your second place.
Actually, I don’t want to ride alone these long long routes…
However you’re right, indeed that would have discouraged some riders 😉
See you Sunday morning!
Hey Dominigue, Sunniva is indeed a tenacious opponent! I wasn’t even sure this format for the classification would work but i am really happy with it as it really does bring everyone together rather than trying to out sprint or break your rivals. To Be at the start line and only have ” i just need to cross the finish line” in your head makes a nice change.
As for riding alone, this is where doing the really long ironman routes with 50 Virtual Partners would actually work better than a scheduled race. This is how i am going to tackle them. I will work out what is a good time for me, so lets say for example 6 hours, then i will load up 50 VPs with finish times ranging from 5 hours 30 to 5 hours 59! then i know i have to try and stick with those guys to beat my estimate. 50 is the max it allows but if you take your time and pick the right ones, it really does make it fun! Never pick VPs based on w/kg!!! It seems like a good idea but the variations are extreme. you can have someone whos done “2.5w/kg” and they can be 30 mins faster than someone else with the exact same w/kg. This is because the faster guy might have drafted the whole way and the other guy TT’d it with no draft whatsoever. But time is time…
so at the moment the “NICE” one only has 41 finishers so you could load them all up and you are racing against the top 41! so i am going to leave that one till last so more riders can finish it and i can refine my VP selection.
The KONA one has 548 finishers on it and “luckily” for me, i have already done it a few years back. i’m 268th with a time of 5:48 so my plan would be to load up my PB and then the next 49 fastest riders, but i will go pick one, miss one, pick one, miss one, so i am actually loading up a spread of the next 98 faster riders on the leaderboard. This will really make it fun and will push me to better my previous time.
I hope i’ve not bored you with the above, but the above is why i won’t be scheduling these 2 big ones as races as i don’t fancy riding this all on my own at the back for nearly 6 hours.
Thanks for adding the afternoon climbing option. It might bring us more riders, and I hope it does.
Regarding the long Ironman challenges, I like Neil’s idea of doing it so that each of us starts at the same time with our VPs. Even if I don’t finish the long ones (and I probably won’t), I’ll still be able to ride with you for company for about 2-3 hours.
yep, just gotta figure out when i am free to do the 2 big rides now….. then let everyone know that im planning to go at a certain time and hopefully others can go at that time as well.
I won’t be there this Sunday morning, so maybe I’ll have time to try the afternoon date. It’s going to be a tough climb, good luck.
I Think sunniva has this in the bag now! What an amazingly consistent year she’s had so far to get a gap that big! well done!
Thanks, Neil, but until the year is over, we’re all in the game, and anything can happen.
I’m glad so many people are taking part in these Sunday climbs now. I recently saw 99 people on our first climb, even though it wasn’t the challenge of Rouvy.
Congratulation to all metal medalist from the holder of the potato one. Great work 👍. Next year will be even more tough, I hope that I could do more due the PM slot, but mainly we will have Mike Hagen on the line for the whole year.
I really enjoyed this year and I’m ready for 2026.
Looking forward to a whole year of PM climbs! LOL, what am I saying? OMG!
Congratulations Gosia, that took incredible commitment.
I enjoy the Sunday morning rides, generally to keep fit and focus on at least one short endurance ride per week. It feels much more sociable when you recognise familiar names to share draft, pacing or a simple ‘thumbs up’.
A great series, see you next year.
We’ll done all – great series and thanks to the Muckers crew for organising
This year, I gained over 62000m during Sunday climbs. It seems like a lot, but in all 2025 climbs, I’ve climbed over 155000m so far, and it’s a truly incredible effort for me.
Sunday’s series was the first one in which I joined the Muckers team. Then I tried riding on Tuesdays and Thursdays, but I enjoy climbing the most. I received a lot of kind words from the Muckers, and that motivated me to work and put in the effort.
My personal Sunday rankings are: EddyDomino – he climbed the fastest, RaTim – he definitely gained the most elevation gain in a year on Rouvy (I admire the additional climbing after our event), and Neil – he struggled with the climbs just as much as I did 😀 and on top of that he was incredibly motivating and encouraging.
Bikeanddogtrips climbed the most interval climbs, and Steven Ludford at a steady pace. That’s what I envy him and what I need to learn next year: a steady pace, a calm heart rate, and endurance.
Thank you so much to all the Muckers who have supported me along the way, I’m glad we have more and more ladies in the events, all the best to all of you for the next year 🙂
