MUCKERS 2026 FEBRUARY CHAMPIONSHIP RACE 4.
ROUTE AND RACE DETAILS:
GF Georgia route 2 – Wikle Store | USA | 30.36 miles | 2,743 ft. of elevation
ROUVY SAY: Set off from the historic Wikle Store for a 49km test of endurance through north Georgia. This course balances rolling hills with sharper pitches, totalling 836m of ascent. The constant changes in gradient require smart gear selection and steady pacing, mirroring the rhythm of a true race day.
WE SAY: last race and another biggie!
Also Should have been the last one via NITEOR who was meant to close in 2 days time but they decided to close it on our race night instead and pretty much screw us over. We’ve done nothing but support NITEOR, even writing to the CEO of ROUVY to try and persuade them to reconsider there stance, but today ROUVY released a statement confirming it’s position with NITEOR which meant NITEOR felt it was in its best interest to spit its dummy out and throw its toys out of the pram and close 2 days early????? Right now it’s still very raw and fresh so lets leave it at that and move on!
So our good friend Ste Ludford has been working away at the Spread sheets we were going to introduce for Next month to see if we could get the last race results out tonight and here they are! Brilliant work and i am blown away Ste!! i honestly wish i could move you up into the top 50!! 😏

TO FINISH OFF:
Well as much as NITEOR tried to sabotage us tonight, We showed True Muckers spirit! Thank you so much to Ste Ludford for jumping straight onto the spreadsheets to get them updated whilst i got ready, had my tea and tried to calm down.
We hope the scores above are correct, we are 99.9% happy with them but if you see anything wrong, we can sort it so just let us know. We can still check for HR data and w/kg breaches as well but we will need to just watch others in the race for the weight dopers. pretty much like we use to.
We really want to keep the categories going as well and those with a tbc will eventually be allocated but as none of the tbc’s were in the top 50 places in the GC, they wouldn’t have gotten any bonus points anyway this month so we don’t need to worry about those right now. But we will start to work through them and give them a category, based on average w/kg and where they finished.
But this has been a really tough month. 4 extremely long challenge routes ticked off
And that’s it. I will update the world championship blog this weekend with this months results.
Thanks everyone for taking part, reading the blog, especially those that read to the end and throw a comment in. Appreciate it!
Mucker1974

what a horrible race this was for me. So tired when i got on the bike, the app crashed twice on the warm up so had to switch to the mobile instead of the ipad and just got going with about 30 seconds to spare. But i was tired! legs, knees, arse… everything was just aching and i tried for as long as i could until i just cracked and bonked. Just kept the legs spinning at about 1.9w/kg as riders passed and i considered stopping… but i would only have to do the route again to get the challenge credit so i might as well carry on. did so and started to feel some kind of form come back, bit then i’d push a touch harder and boom, i’m back down to 1.8s and struggling. Jendor.net was with me for my struggles and was constantly giving me the thumbs up but how do you reply, “no mate!” anymore?? so i am sorry i didn’t thumbs up back to you at first, but i really wasn’t ok but did start to feel a bit more normal on that last climb and to the finish. Really appreciate the support though!
i then get off the bike only to see NITEOR has shut down 2 days early! FFS!!! definitely feel the virtual cycling gods are testing me tonight!
But we persevere, and I’m Surprised to see I’m top 50 overall though this month, and also getting the category bonus as well! Really glad to see category A8 in the top 50 GC as well this month, just showing you that consistency, especially when the races are this long, means you have a great chance to get in there.
Well done to the while top 50 as this was a tough month indeed
Lost track of time, jumped on the bike at the last second. I thought I was going to be isolated early, but a group of 5 or 6 formed, I was able to stick with them until the second major climb, or was it the third climb, not sure. By the last climb the legs were just gone, sorry 4worldpeace I just didn’t have anything to pull through. I’m still happy with the result, I left nothing in the tank and that always feels good.
Wow – tough races this month. Came in rested this time and was excited for the possibilities (FWIW – I’m liking the Rouvy Companion app for tracking how “trained” and “rested” I am). Had a powerful start (for me) – too powerful as it turned out because I woke up my wife! Sadly, she has a debilitating condition and was trying to nap when all my shifting woke her up. A conversation ensued while I dropped places and I tried mightily to minimize shifting for the remainder of the race. Ouch. Suffice it to say that a trainer that supports virtual shifting may be in my future 😉
Anyway, enjoyed seeing everyone, just wish I could have maybe stuck with some of you who passed me. Had a scare at the end, when it looked like Ludford, Sunniva, and 4WorldPeace might catch up, but the finish line came soon enough to hold them off. Quite happy I got to complete all 4 races this month and get into the top 50. Thank you Mr. Ludford and Neil for pulling the results together (and doing ti so fast!). Cheers.
Eric, I bought a two keys-keysboard on Amazon, put some rubber bands around it and my handlebars and then set it the keys to , and . and turned on virtual shifting in Rouvy. It’s a janky setup, but it actually works – try it? It’s a cheap fix at least!
Good one on making top 50, chapeau!
Thanks for the advice, however, I think I need a new trainer ’cause my Saris H3 doesn’t have support for virtual shifting. Working now to figure out what’s the “quietest smart trainer or smart bike that has support from the Rouvy platform for virtual shifting”
Thanks greatly for the update. Power to you and S. Ludford.
Thank you for all your hard work! I had the pleasure because of the bad weather to do all Muckers races this Feb. and my usual Tuesday sessions with you. I definitely like the longer routes with more climbing. This one was a bit strange though. I found myself I think for the very first time after my new starting experiences on Tuesday in the first group at the start; so it seems that I finally found out how to do this without blowing up and the speed was OK, even though I saw an average of 4 w/kg in the first 8 km which is still Ok for me. Then suddenly the group break off and I was sitting in the back of the second part settling in and fuelling that time. But that’s Ok as I didn’t want to go this high speed for the whole time on a Thursday evening. I was in a nice group working well together with a good speed further distancing the third group and it was clear that the last climb will decide and the front group will further reduce over time. So close to the Top 10 was a good sign of my training set up for this year and my goals in May and August. The last climb was Ok. I lost a bit of contact to three riders at the beginning of the climb to safe some energy of this longer climb and was faster than the rest of the group. The 25 – 30 meters gap to the three ahead was steady and I tried to close it at the top of the climb but realised that the needed 5 w/kg was too much today. So I was all by myself for the last 8 km and tried to keep the others behind me in good distance during the downhill sections to settle their speed and to control it. This was a much better month for me with overall pl. 15. This is much better even though I lost a lot of points in not using a TT set up for the first race. I learned a lot about the modern Muckers race styles with sooo many strong riders and go full speed in all races! Everyone is really in a strong shape compared to the beginning of these series. It’s so good that you do these races which mean a lot of interval kind of training for me – as I hate pure intervals! Thank you very much again.
Another tough Thursday route, but I’m liking it! Good start and had contact with the front for a few seconds (but no MatthiasHeil?) then they drifted away. But I was in a good group of a dozen or so over the first climb and onto the second. That broke us up, about half the group getting away. I spent the rest of the race with PJB55 and Boulenger, neither who have HR data so they aren’t on the Mucker results. Could see simonjp, ludwigdb, and Bizio75 gaining on over rollers after the second climb, which was fine with me as two of them are Mucker mates. They caught us at the base of the third climb, and were promptly dropped as Tarsoul came from somewhere and pulled us away. Onto the fourth climb and Boulenger got a 20 m gap. I bridged up, that’s where we lost PJB55, and we were neck and neck to the finish, where I messed up. I mistook the end of the last segment for the finish, did a sprint, but we still had 400 m to go! So I got pipped by Boulenger. Sigh. Kudos to all that finished!
I was very disappointed that NITEOR shutdown earlier but, I’m very grateful for the hard work that was put in to update the results here so quickly. It was a tough ride. I felt rested and ended up starting out hard and riding with a few groups that where much stronger than me. I hung in there until the hills started but, was dropped pretty quick so I just locked in and rode my ride. Stelviobound and a group he was riding with caught me and I jumped in until both of us got dropped. We worked with each other for a while, thanks Stelviobound! Then Ludford, Sunniva, and Nottofast caught me and fortunately I was able to jump in and hang on. I thought for sure they were going to drop me on the last two hills but somehow I hung on. Thanks for the pull up those hills!! Somehow I still had a little left to push hard up and over the last little hill. Hard but fun race.
Maaan, I wish I was in A5 so I could’ve gotten that sweet, sweet C.B.! A6 is difficult company especially with all these mountany stages. Anyhoo… I am proud of my result for February, also when you factor in how sick I have been. Hopefully I can do even better in March and recoup some more points for the WC.
Yesterday I was recovering from a cold and I had to do the 10.30 race. Luckily, 10 other people had signed up, most of them somebody who could keep me company and push me, and I would find myself in a group of four with a familiar name in Paul Bateman. That helped me set an OK time, all things considered.
Not much to say about the race it self, but just wanted to say thank you Steven and thank you Neil!
Great job this month! Agree that A6 is tough these days. Will be interesting to see what happens with the classifications in light of the Niteor situation. Ugh. Hoping I can get my act together and “keep you company” on Thursdays next month 😉 Cheers -e
We really want to keep the categories going and with Ste’s help, from the end of March we will start to do the promotion and relegation of a few riders. our plan is to promote everyone who wins there cat up 1 category. The relegation will be applied to the rider who scored the least points from all the riders who completed all 4 races that month.
i really want riders to see relegation as a better chance to win a category rather than a negative against them, and if they win, they will come back up anyway. Its a way to stop being stuck in say 9th or 10th every month and just not getting the chance to get category bonus points. It might work, it might not. But i really want to try it and we couldn’t try it when we had to stick to NITEORS rules.
Two lots of adversity to overcome tonight.
The Race. Thrown completely out of Rouvy during the 10 second count down (even though I had done the 8gb download). Quickly reloaded but everyone was now 40 seconds up the road, Sunniva had the same scenario so we joined forces to see if we could make progress from 70th position. It went very well, we were going too strong to take any rest from the back markers until we reached Neil, luckily he was able to offer some assistance but it wasn’t his night and he dropped off. We finally got inside the top50 and reached 4worldpeace and Stelviobound at the final tough climb. Sunniva paced the climb while I bit my handlebars and prayed not to be dropped. I think we ended up close to our expected race positions so I think we recovered the situation well.
Niteor. Very disappointed (polite) about Niteor deliberately pulling the plug early, creating collateral damage for your customers seems an unfair way to demonstrate your anger at your departing supplier. Integrity?
The spreadsheets were not quite ready, I had planned to finish them Friday morning and stress check the Thursday results at leisure. I saw Niteor was down and just thought this needs doing right now, Neil did the HR checks for me and it was go, go, go. Hopefully I hand over the package to Neil before I fly to Lanzarote on Monday and hope everyone can be patient for the results while Neil gets familiar with the process.
Hi Steven – we can’t thank you enough for stepping into the Niteor void to help out the Mucker family – but we’ll try – THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
I still feel the remnants of fatigue from the weekend, but I’m close to normal. At the beginning I didn’t even try to be in a strong leading group. I was glad that I wasn’t alone and even though we were in a small group, we rode in pretty good cooperation. From the first hill I saw the group of Muckers (Andy, Sharky, Slyfly) behind me and I wondered if it was worth keeping my distance or gradually letting myself be caught up and joining them. We gradually caught up with the stragglers from the front, someone dropped out, but we were still working well. OK, if they catch up us before the last hill, they’ll at least be more tired and maybe we’ll drop them again. It seemed that riders in the back was also running out of strength and we arrived at the bottom of the hill with a lead. I felt my energy running out so I stuffed myself with some sugar and felt pretty good and didn’t want to drop out and ride the subsequent descent alone. On the hill Wolli started to take over and I held on with a howl, but others dropped out. At the top, Simon let himself be caught and so we could at least cooperate a little. At the bottom, Wolli left us and I didn’t try to pass Simon. Then it was clear that we had jumped even more from the group behind us and were going to the finish. There I no longer had the strength to react to Simon’s attack. A tough but nice race.
Thanks for continuing the evaluation even without Niteor.
I have sent Neil all the GC data for this month, as well as the data for this stage, so that he can double-check his records. Sorry for any inconvenience.
I’m so sad of the ending of Niteor 😭 It was an incredible website…
Oh what a race. I knew I had to do well to get into the top 50 this month, but I didn’t expect Rouvy to knock me out right before the start.
Luckily for me, the same thing happened to Mr. Ludford. He waited for me, and we were able to go and work together. A good effort, and the mission was a success.
seemed to happen to a few. for me it was twice in the warm up and i switched to the mobile thinking it was my usual ipad issue. glad it didn’t mess up too many people. weridly i always get a good start when i use the iphone, so i was way too high when you guys caught me and i really tried to hang on and help but it really felt like i was riding it sand, or my brakes were stuck on, especially when we hit the uphills. you guys did really well considering the late start!
First a big shoutout to Steven and Neil for being able to gather and present the data without the help of Niteor 👍🏻 Hopefully it will work more smoothly in the following races.
The race was another long one full of constant kickers and 3-4 longer climbs. Keep them coming since they make for excellent racing (… and of course fit my own riding 🤣) Stayed with the front group of 12 untill the first really steep 1 km climb around 22 km where first Laurent and then Mads and myself were distanced from the rest. Stayed with Mads for the rest of the way working excellent together. And nice that the gentleman agreement between Mads and myself struck on the last long climb was kept despite the treacherous suggestions of a two-man sprint from our directeur sportif Niels (‘doing a Bjarne’) guiding us all on discord FROM AN AIRPORT LOUNGE waiting for a delayed departure – hilarious – what must the other passengers in the lounge have been thinking👌🏻😂 I really must have been on the limit since I could not see any fun in the situation at the time and also completely ignored the sneaky pro-norwegian football comments.
Finally a big shoutout to Morten who had to start 30 seconds late due to being thrown off Rouvy a minute before the start. Something I myself experienced 1 1/2 minutes earlier but luckily managed to come back just in time for the start. And now I can se this also happened to Sunniva and Steven …
I’m very happy, first goal weight 82 kg, next and last 79 kg 🤞. Second goal to get into the top 5 in A5 with 3 races and whaoo best in Cat last night and 2nd place overall 🤩. Let’s go to the race, calm start given its length and complexity, I found a good work group with my friends Duckman2, UncleE64, jnovak74 and others. Great work for a good stretch of the road, and then we broke away, and we started at a good pace with my now running partner Slyfly and the little Belgian Goblin Amdy, also with ogee and ValRdz, we found a good compromise, with everyone helping and even on the descents excellent regroups to join up, I like this and so I gave it my all for everyone and in the end my little energy allowed me to overtake ValRdz by a few meters, happy, very tired and with weak legs 💪.
Thanks to everyone and see you in the battle in March.
👋💪🦈
Super impressive Sharky! When I saw I was in the same group as you in first few miles I knew I was in the wrong group – you’re out of my league now (quite literally) and pulling further away every week. I do hope more A6 riders will get bumped to A5 soon — did you see that the top 4 in A6 this month all had enough points for top 2 in A5!? The fact that you only road 3 races and still finished 2nd in category is tremendous – well done!
This again is a reason we will be all over the categories, but at least they won’t be changing mid month. We will be re learning, relegating and promoting, and assessing at the end of the month!
Kudos on the weight, Sharky!
Are you ready for a nice battle in March??? 💪🫶🏻
Happy Birthday young man. I love watching how fully you are living life. Caio, and cheers
Grazie mille 🫶🏻
Non stop in the mix. Unfiltered. Full throttle. Brake. Full throttle. Brake. I dont like this kind of races, so my first goal was roll over first serious kicker in the middle. Passed, eight riders left. Final climb, deliberately stepping out as i could feel little cramps. Luckily Nelson waited, we rejoined with Andrus and could finish together. Very hard, but that’s why do we do that. Thank you everyone.
Pablo here. Let me get down to it. I was DNF. Halfway through the race I was in a comfortable 30th place, and ready to move up with the hills to come. Suddenly my heart rate stopped being recorded. This has never happened to me on Rouvy before. I knew that was over for me, but I decided to keep going because I was having a really nice time riding with ValRdz (more on this later). But a few minutes down the road I no longer had watts or cadence. My avitar stopped and that was that. I still have no idea why this all happened, but possible brief wi-fi break? My wife said wild winds with branches breaking etc. Anyway, this totally screws up not only my February results, but the whole year to date. Kudos to Neil, however, for programing in “s***t happens in the virtual world, as well as in IRL.and “well, that’s bike racing” It happens.
Addendum #1: At the time my ride was messed with, I was having a most delightful ride with ValRdz…The sunlight was filtering through the autumn colored tree leaves along the road, and Val, you are the smoothest person I have ridden with on Rouvy. We had a seamless two person rotating paceline/tt going. We were only about 30 seconds down on the large group between # 20-30 when I crashed. I believe we could have gotten Val up to that group for when the last serious climbing began. Anyhow, later when I was done processing what I had happened, I made a request to Val to be a friend, and right away she replied yes. Thank you.
Addendum #2: I did this race on my kickrcore#1, which was just past the warranty date. I have switched over to a new Kickrcore #2, which is supposed to be a spiffy update. So far, nothing but problems, so it may be messing with me for a while, and not a machine I want to race on.
Addendum #3: The last 2 months have been a really exciting peak to six months hard training, this last race result not withstanding. But the season has changed. I am now planning to get out on the gravel and my cx bike at least half of my rides every week. Reasons, 1) I just love it, and I don’t know how much more time I will be able to do this IRL, and 2) I have a young teammate who is now devoting herself to doing the Point to Point marathon mountainbike race in September. She will be needing to train to do an 8 hour mostly singletrack race in September. I will hope to join her for many hours of her rides, company and the ability I bring to tell an endless stream of stories while at zone 2 pace.
Addendum #4: I expect to gadfly around Muckers land, a bit here and there ongoing, as we shift to the great outdoors…cheers.
As mentioned, February races were really long & tough races. This route was specially strange, no flat, a lots of small bumps and then a steep and short climb at the end. As always, I miss the leading group because of my tractor start… OK, this is the second group with some well known wheels. Bump after bump we caught some riders who were dropped out of the leading group. We had the chance to be caught by m-forby who had software problems at the start, and in the middle climb he imposed a very fast pace which considerably reduced our group. The ending of this race was special because of its length, some riders were exhausted and not able to follow after being caught even in the last flat-downhill parts. I was happy to finish at the 15th rank.
This is my best Muckers month ever: 10th and for the first time I’ll have some ballast! Hope to see all of you next month.
Many, many thanks to the golden Muckers team for the hard ranking work.
