Muckers Revised Thursday Warm Up Race 09/02/23

Rouvy route used : Wainui – Land End Rd | 4.5 miles | 1801 ft climbing

Route 4 from the Continental Climbs | Hard challenge

20 registered | 15 finishers | 0 dnf | 5 dns

Revised?? Yes, I had to change the route the weekend before due to the amount of challenges on Rouvy at the moment, and this was the 2nd running of this route, so it had to go. The fact that Rouvy allowed me to change the route, and the title, while still having the same people registered to it, gave me a great idea to maybe in the future do a surprise race! The idea: So everyone registers for a route I put out there, then a few hours before its meant to start, I change the route! Just an idea… anyway, lets get to the race report.

Hopefully all of the 15 riders on the start line knew this was the in fact the route they registered for and were ready for a nice hill climb, that we all had a very achievable 45 minutes to complete before the main race. What I love about these short climbs is that you can really get into a zone and try and keep it going all the way to the top. a nice little test lets say.

First to the top and over the line was “Simon_Hahnenbruch” in a time of under 25 minutes! And there I was hoping 45 minutes was enough!🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️ 2nd was the ever consistent “PatrykS_Gdynia_PL” who was having bike issues aswell if his strava is anything to go on. hope hes got it sorted. 🤞. Bronze went to “duccioc” with the Italian crossing the line 2 minutes and 44 seconds behind first place. Well done to all the top 3, really strong riding.

4th went to “Tom-MWW” who seems to have added “MWW” to the end of his name…I wonder what this means🤔. 5th was “Francois_Prd” with Muckers worldwide rider and co-founder “Kylofski” coming over the line in 6th and completing the climb in just under 30 minutes as well! What a strong top 6!

7th came “rouvy1bryon“, 8th “Chak” ( the 2nd muckers worldwide rider in the top 10 ) , 9th “lyndonjw” and then rounding out the top 10, and the 3rd muckers worldwide rider in the top 10, came “tomlerieger” in a time of just under 36 minutes.

Everyone who started this, managed to finish this in under 40 minutes, so did those who took it a bit steadier than the top placed riders have enough in the tank to make a bigger impact in the main race? read the next blog to find out.

Yes… I finally got a mention. I give it all I had on this ride as this was my type of race. 4 miles felt like 15 miles. Well done everyone.

well done Kyle, everyone who gets in the top 10 gets a mention but you gave this one a really good go! I’d love to mention everyone as none of these races are easy but I’d still be writing the blog way into the early hours of the morning! Well done again.
