Alright Muckers, grab a brew and pull up a chair. The summer heat is well and truly here, and the gravel scene is hitting a boiling point! From pro road champions proving their grit on the dirt to epic globetrotting series and the latest tech wizardry, we’ve got plenty to chat about this week.

Here is your weekly roundup of the stories that caught our eye!

Wiebes and Vandeputte Master the Mud in Luxembourg

First up, we have to talk about what went down at Eislek Gravel Luxembourg this past weekend (June 21st). If you thought Lorena Wiebes was only a road sprinter, think again. The SD Worx-Protime powerhouse showed she can handle the dirt just as well as the tarmac, taking a dominant victory in the elite women’s race.

Over in the men’s field, Niels Vandeputte proved that his cyclocross skills transfer perfectly to gravel, riding away with a brilliant solo win. The race was a relentless, technical grind, serving as a primary qualifier for the upcoming UCI Gravel World Championships in Australia this October. It’s safe to say the bar has been set sky-high, and the competition for those coveted rainbow jerseys is going to be fierce!

Gravel Earth Series: From Kenya to Belgium

Meanwhile, the Gravel Earth Series has been putting riders through the ultimate test of endurance. Following the grueling four-day epic at the Migration Gravel Race in Kenya, the series is now looking ahead to its final rounds.

This year’s calendar is the most international yet, featuring 11 events across six countries, all culminating in a brand-new finale in Belgium called “The River.” With a EUR 25,000 prize purse on the line for the top pros, the competition is getting fierce. But as always, it’s the sheer adventure, rugged landscapes, and community spirit that continues to define these independent races. That’s the real spirit of gravel!

Eurobike 2026: Tech Innovation

For the gearheads among us, Eurobike 2026 kicks off this week, and the buzz around gravel technology is deafening. Industry giants like Canyon are showcasing some mind-bending concepts designed to make off-road riding smoother, lighter, and faster.

Whether it’s integrated frame storage, next-generation compliance features, or aerodynamic gravel cockpits, the pace of innovation isn’t slowing down. We’ll be keeping a close eye on the halls of Frankfurt to see what shiny new kit we might be adding to our wishlists.
