MUCKERS 2026 AUGUST CHAMPIONSHIP RACE 1.
ROUTE AND RACE DETAILS:
Barcelona seafront to Sants Montjuïc | Spain | 12.24 miles | 650 ft. elevation
ROUVY SAY:A fast urban loop starting by the Barcelona seafront, following long, straight boulevards through the city before finishing with two climbs up to Montjuïc.
WE SAY: TT TIME!!!!!!!! We are really getting into this first round TT event! some study the earlier races to see how riders do, what bike the choose and most important, times they set. A race with 2 distinct differences always throws up the TT bike or normal bike debate so lets see how it went for everyone!

WHATS NEXT TO COME:
Remember you are more than welcome to come and race with us on any of our races even if the championships are of no interest to you. The more the merrier!! These championships are just here as extra motivation and fun ways to train.
Sunday Hill Climb (aka the Sunday hill climb championship)
Double header this weekend!
Climb 1: Tabayesco | Lanzarote | 6.72 miles | 1,909 ft,
Then 60 minutes later :
Climb 2: El Mojón to Peñas del Chache | Lanzarote | 8.89 miles | 1,765 ft. elevation.
Should be a nice couple of climbs and we also tick off 2 current challenge routes! Win-Win
Search “Muckers Sunday” in the event search function on ROUVY to find all the scheduled climbs we have created so far. All start times included in the championship.
Tuesday Race Night (aka the w/kg training championship)
UCI 2.2 Grand Tour Stage 1 | Pune Jan 2026 | 19.2 miles | 1,083 ft. elevation
The 2.3w/kg target night! What a shame we don’t do a 2.2 as that would have match the race title perfectly 😂😂😂 but the aim is definitely 2.3 so please remember that!
Search “Muckers Tuesday” in the event search function on ROUVY to find all the scheduled races we have created so far at the 6 different start times. All start times included in the championship
Thursday Race Night (aka the world championship)
Växjö to Hemmesjö and back again | Sweden | 17.78 miles | 594 ft. elevation
Round 2 of the August championship and those figures above look very “racey” indeed!! AND we are back to full on draft racing. Get over that first climb in the right group and you’ll smash this off rapidly, last thing you want is to be solo over that crest!
Search “Muckers championship” in the event search function on ROUVY to find all the scheduled races we have created so far at the 7 different start times. All start times included in the championship
TO FINISH OFF:
This is my last World championship Blog of the Month! I will be on my summer holiday from next Wednesday all the way to the 1st of September so although i know Ste will be keeping the scores all sorted and up to date for me, i believe Kyle and Ste are working out if the blog will carry on as well. But if not, That Monday the 31st of August (which is a bank holiday in the UK) might just be a busy day for me as i try my best to catch up. But that’s just in case….
I will update the TT championship and Sunday Hill Climb blogs this weekend and also Get the w/kg championship one done after the 2.3w/kg event next week, but after that, the pc is getting a much deserved shut down!
But rest assured, everything will still be being calculated in the background as each event finishes……..so no slacking!!
Thanks everyone, thanks for reading the blog and as always, thanks for reading to the very end. Appreciate it!
Mucker1974

Man i was so looking forward to this TT race! I watched a few of the other races, just to see if the TT bike was used and also just to try and gauge what those last 2 hills were going to be like. I’d decided the TT bike was the best option, but then watched how Berty bassett used the “normal” se up to win the noon race after being what looked like quite far behind the TT riders earlier on… but i was still leaning towards the TT bike, with the plan to go all out right at the start to get up to speed asap and then empty the tank at the end.
Also this was going to be the only championship race for me this month due to my holiday, so at least i was going to stay in the TT championship….. or so i thought.
Basically a family emergency happened just after lunch time and i was sat in the local hospitals accident and emergency department with my mum and dad when the main race kicked off! One of my brothers came to take over from me at 9pm to stay with my dad so i could bring my mum home as she’s in her late eighties now and couldn’t sit there in those waiting rooms any longer! So she’s at home now resting, I’m getting this blog done whilst having some dinner, then I’m back off to the hospital later to take over from my brother.
But i am glad i was able to get this blog done tonight though in this spare couple of hours, especially as its my last one of the month. Just looks like August wasn’t meant to be for me was it, but at least i get to stay in my Category for September. 😏……
Well done on the TT everyone, have a great August and see you in September.

Answer every question. Straight after running to the first installment of August Muckers races. Time trial with long flat section after the start. I knew i will be suffering in the flat, so my motivation was stay close to Niels and lrollin. It worked initially, but then Niels went ahead and i lost about 70m to lrollin.
When we finally reached hilly ending, i erased gap to lrollin, but we were all cooked already, so i did not feel having any advantage as 64kg climber. Potato medal in tropical conditions is my limit im fully aware of. With that congratulations to podium players and to everyone who joined us.
Well a long flat course with a couple of climbs at the end and no drafting, what to do? I didn’t even check the rouvyanalyzer, definitely the TT bike. Keep the pedals moving. I was happy with the output. I figured that if I could average 2.8 I would have a good time. Sunniva and Slyfly made for good carrots until the climbs. I had lost contact by the time we hit the first climb but that was ok since I just needed to get over the first climb and hope to recover on the downhill so that I could attack the finish. I have never averaged 2.8 so I wouldn’t really call it a plan, more of a hope. I had emptied the tank and averaged 2.7 so I’m pretty happy. I was surprised that I had not set a new ftp?
It was a great race 😉👍🏻
I don’t know if my personal performance result good or not. Of sure did 3.4 w/kg and 37.1 km/h agv for me is nice, I work another time near Wolli where I lost a few time in the last hill. I don’t program nothing and this time I chose a TT bike, at the end also this mount I find many strong athletes in my A4… another mount of hard work I think 😂🤷♂️😎🦈
My plan was to finish sub 35 min and see if I could average 3.0w/kg. Push on the flats but, save just a little for the two climbs towards the finish. I had a good start and managed to not let the little bumps slow me down to much. Thanks Slyfly for the pace for awhile. Closing in on the climbs sunniva was close behind and Slyfly and VilemStrakos were close ahead. I didn’t think I could match sunniva on the hills and sure enough she passed me about half way up the first hill. I just kept grinding on the second hill and was able to pass VilemStrakos a little before the crest. Couldn’t catch Slyfly but, felt good that I was so close to him. Finished at 34:36 and 2.94w/kg. Couldn’t stop to wonder if my usual Trek ride would have been faster. Better performance than last month’s TT so I’ll take it.
