Muckers Weekly: Vollering’s Femmes Triumph, Remco’s San Sebastián Record & Leadville 100 Trail Heat
Week of August 10, 2026
Right then, Muckers. Grab a brew, turn up the cooling fans, and settle in! August is serving up absolute fireworks across the pro peloton, high-altitude dirt trails, and our own Rouvy virtual racing calendar.
Here is your weekly roundup of the big stories, high-octane racing action, and tech buzz catching our eye this week!
Vollering Reigns Supreme at Tour de France Femmes 👑🚴♀️
What a finish to the 2026 Tour de France Femmes! The ninth and final stage into Nice delivered pure tension as Demi Vollering (FDJ-Suez) sealed her second overall GC crown after a week of relentless mountain warfare.
Kasial Niewiadoma-Phinney put up an inspirational fight on the slopes of Mont Ventoux earlier in the week to take a famous stage win, pushing Vollering all the way. But Vollering proved unstoppable in the final alpine stages, taking victory on the closing day in Nice to secure the yellow jersey by 1:18. SD Worx-Protime’s Lorena Wiebes locked up the green jersey, while Puck Pieterse took home the polka-dot mountain jersey. Huge respect to all the riders who made this year’s edition an absolute masterpiece of bike racing!
Remco Makes History in San Sebastián 🇪🇸⚡
Over in the Basque Country, Remco Evenepoel (Red Bull–BORA–hansgrohe) carved his name deeper into cycling folklore by winning his fourth Clásica de San Sebastián.
Evenepoel overcame a mid-race mechanical and bike change before unleashing a savage acceleration on the brutal Murgil-Tontorra climb. He out-sprinted Richard Carapaz (EF Education-EasyPost) in a thrilling two-up finish to break the all-time victory record for the race. Four titles in San Sebastián at just 26 years old—simply extraordinary leg power.
Leadville 100 MTB Course Shakeup 🏔️🚵
For the endurance dirt diggers among us, organizers of the legendary Leadville Trail 100 MTB have announced a modified 102.1-mile route for this weekend’s 32nd edition on August 15th.
Due to recent wildfire recovery efforts, the iconic “Powerline” section has been temporarily bypassed, replacing it with fresh backcountry fire roads and high-altitude climbs through Colorado’s Sawatch Range. Keegan Swenson enters as the odds-on men’s favorite, while the women’s field is wide open following Kate Courtney’s transition to European road racing. Get ready for a battle at 10,000 feet!
Virtual Pelotons: Muckers Rouvy Racing Lineup 💻🔥
Back on the virtual tarmac, the Muckers community is gearing up for an incredible slate of Rouvy events this week!
We’re kicking off with fast Grand Tour rolling drags through Pune, India, moving to Sweden on Thursday for August Championship Race 2 through the scenic Småland pine forests, and tackling a brutal double-header hill climb on Sunday up Montana’s Bison Range and Big Sky passes. Whether you’re chasing championship points or just joining for the banter, hop in our draft!
