Rouvy Route Used | Stage 1 (Einsiedeln) – Tour de Suisse 2023 | 5.75 miles | 269ft climbing

Route 1 from the Tour De Suisse challenge and also the 2nd race of the night!

21 Registered | 15 finishers | 1 DNF | 5 DNS

So, whos up for a 2nd race! quite a few, but also some fresh legs in here as well. Nice little 6 miler to end the night with a uphill finish just to kill the legs off!

“Simon_Hahnenbruch” made it 2 for 2 with a bit more of a gap to the others than the first race, with a 2.9 second gap to “Risckys_GURE” in 2nd, who at least bettered his first race position but moving up 1 step on the podium! “nielsbrynnum” got a well deserved third place followed by Top Muckers Worldwide rider “denny44” closely behind in 4th!

5th came “transberg” who was closely followed by the dueling pair of “Andy_UP” (6th) and “Robbiedoo” (7th)

bit of a gap and then 5 riders came in the 16 minute bracket. “Mucker1974” claimed 8th just in front of “Ryanio-Bianchi” in 9th, with the American rider “e.b.ward8” getting that all important last mention in 10th place.

Thank you all for taking part, especially those who had a go at both races tonight. Thank you.

co-founder of muckersworldwide.com and race organizer! Been into cycling since a kid and spent most of the time on BMX and mountain bikes. Took me longer than most to get the road cycling bug but I was bitten around 5 years ago when I finally got a fully fledged road bike that fitted and I let the flat handled road bike go...

finally a top 10! fair enough it wasn’t the biggest field but I was made to work for it. Weird race by all accounts, thought I was well spent after the first ride, so did a sprint start on this as fast as i could for as long as i could, just to empty the tank then the idea was to just ride it home nicely. But, as riders started to overtake me, I felt I could hang onto them a little bit longer than I was expecting. Next minute I’m in 9th and actually feeling ok! so i tested the waters and felt ok to carry on which I did and on a climb where everyone else seemed to be taking it easy, i upped the gears, stood up and went all in! got a brilliant gap which i then just focused on keeping and somehow i did, to then finish a nice 8th place. No idea what i did here apart from that start but that can’t be reason why i was ok here can it???

second race for me too, to tell the truth I had little petrol still available but we tried. I was hoping for some tougher climbs to be able to recover something and instead nothing… but we take it philosophically to improve. See you next challenge guys 💪🤙

Started but my gear cable snapped in side the leaver so had a lovely hour trying to sort that out🙄

A little recovery between the races, after a relative short race, so I still had some juice in me. Went full after the start with riders that had the same idea (Neil and Denny) Soon Simon overtook us with the fast riders and I tried to hang on. Couldn’t for long and waited for Robbie and Tranberg. Both ended before me previous race so I stayed in the draft. On the climb to the finish, I overtook Robbie with 20m to go. This could be the first time I finish before him. It’s wasn’t pretty, it wasn’t fair, but it sure was bike racing.

Oh just see I was a victim of a Shark attack finally.. (my 1/10seconds…!!!) Squalo_delle_Alpi congratulations!
I’ll go to your country anyway this summer, to ride those italian mountains, there we might fight this again :)))

Anyway I felt myself a hero just to sit back to bike after ten minutes of the Vietnam race. Let’s see what is left in anybody. In me no too much so decided to keep my HRM under 160 (didn’t managed to, the avg became 166!!) Okay today I’ll take a rest.

we arrived at the photo finish, well done, let’s say my legs were screaming for mercy. In the last 300 meters there was some connection jump… in fact, a moment before I was in front of Enea and I was behind the final line 🤣.
See you next challenges Robert 💪👍

Got to late back from work and missed the start of the first race. Did a good warm up and prepared myself for the 2nd race. Went all in at the beginning and had a good start. Cost a lot of energy but it worked. It was me with Simon and Niels. Both are much stronger than me. I know that and I wanted to stay as long as possible with them. But another strong rider Risckys closed the gap and we were four. Had to push hard not getting dropped and was happy to reach the final climb in this group. I already reached my max. heart rate and couldn’t compete at the final sprint. But I am happy to finished 4th and only a few seconds behind the winner.
