Muckers Deals: Mudguards from £36.95, MTBs from £475, Helmets from £19.99 & Smart Trainers from £239.99
Prices checked Monday 26 October 2026 *
Morning, Muckers! The clocks went back at the weekend, and the weather has wasted no time in making the point. Storm Boelo has only just blown through, another low is bringing heavy rain and gales this evening with a Met Office yellow wind warning for much of Scotland and parts of Northern Ireland and northern England on Tuesday, and then high pressure builds from midweek. That means fog on Thursday morning and the first cold nights with a touch of frost as we head into November. In other words: wet roads, wet trails, dark evenings and a turbo that’s earning its keep. So this week there’s a brand new Seasonal Picks section covering a budget MTB, mudguards, all-weather tyres, lights and layers, plus a short Europe (prices in €) block for our riders on the continent. As always, we’ve been through the sale pages so you don’t have to. Below are the cheapest, best-value deals we could actually verify this week, each with the price, the was-price and what you save, plus a clear Best Value Pick in every section.
Every link goes straight to the product page. Sale prices often apply to selected sizes and colours only, so check yours before you get too excited.
Road Bikes: Winter Hacks to Weekend Rockets
Last week’s pick is still the one to beat, and Tredz has now taken a full grand off a carbon race bike. Sale prices are often on selected sizes only, so we’ve flagged the catches.
- 🏆 Best Value Pick: Merida Scultura Endurance 200 (2026) (Tredz): £999, RRP £1,250, save £251 (20%). Yes, it’s back for a second week, because nothing cheaper got close. Light alloy endurance frame with a carbon fork, Shimano CUES 2×9 gearing, disc brakes and room for 35mm tyres. Sizes S, M, L and XL were in stock when we checked (XS and XXS have gone). Still the sensible way into proper road riding without remortgaging the shed.
- Lapierre Xelius DRS 6.0 (2026) (Tredz): £2,399, RRP £3,399, save £1,000 (29%). French carbon race bike with a four-figure saving, and every size from S to XL was in stock in both Beige and Sensation Red. The biggest pound saving in this section by a distance.
- Trek Domane SL 5 Gen 4 105 (Sigma Sports): £1,899, was £2,800, save £901 (32%). Carbon endurance bike with Shimano 105, built for long days and rough roads. The catch: only the 54cm in Dark Star to Bronze Age Fade was in stock.
- Merida Scultura Endurance 4000 (2026) (Tredz): £1,800, RRP £2,250, save £450 (20%). The carbon big brother of our pick. The £1,800 price applies to XXS (in the warehouse) and L (from the supplier) only.
Muckers verdict: the SE200 is still the best value going: a full spread of sizes, sorted gearing and room for winter tyres. If you’ve been saving up for something faster, £1,000 off the Xelius is the deal of the week.
Smart Turbo Trainers
Every trainer below is a proper smart trainer that sets its own resistance, controlled over Bluetooth and ANT+ FE-C, so it links straight up to Rouvy for races, route rides and structured workouts. No dumb mag trainers here.
- 🏆 Best Value Pick: Saris M2 Smart Wheel-on Trainer (Cycle King): £239.99, was £429.99, save £190 (44%). The cheapest genuine smart trainer we’ve found all autumn. It’s £109 less than it cost when it featured in our last two posts. Wheel-on, so your bike goes straight in with no cassette to fit, plus electromagnetic resistance, up to 1,500 watts, 15% grade simulation, ±5% power accuracy and dual-band ANT+ FE-C and Bluetooth. Cycle King names Rouvy on the product page. Heads-up: it was listed as pre-order when we checked.
- Wahoo KICKR CORE Smart Trainer (Pedal Power): £359.99, was £699.99, save £340 (49%). The original KICKR CORE at half price. It’s direct-drive, with ANT+ FE-C and Bluetooth, a 16% max grade and ±2% accuracy, and it was in stock. If you want direct-drive and you want it this week, this is the one.
- Tacx Flux S Smart Trainer (Leisure Lakes Bikes): £399.99, was £599.99, save £200 (33%). Last week’s pick, at the same price and still on pre-order. A solid direct-drive with ANT+ FE-C and Bluetooth, but the KICKR CORE now undercuts it and is in stock.
- Elite Suito-T Direct Drive (Pedal Power): £500, was £639.99, save £139.99 (22%). Direct-drive smart trainer with ANT+ FE-C and Bluetooth, in stock. A sound choice, but the KICKR CORE does the same job for £140 less.
Muckers verdict: for £239.99 the Saris M2 is the cheapest way to get proper Rouvy-controlled resistance this winter. If you’d rather go direct-drive and ride tonight, the half-price KICKR CORE is the one to grab.
Helmets
Proper road lids with rotational-impact protection. Sale prices apply to selected sizes and colours only.
- 🏆 Best Value Pick: Trek Starvos WaveCel Road Helmet (Sigma Sports): £68, was £99.99, save £31.99 (32%). A road helmet with Trek’s WaveCel liner, designed to help manage rotational forces in a crash. Unlike most clearance lids, sizes XS to XL were in stock in several colours. A properly protective helmet you can actually get in your size.
- Liv Relay MIPS Women’s Road Helmet (Tredz): £19.99, RRP £44.99, save £25 (56%). Still the cheapest MIPS road helmet we can find. Gloss Panther Black, S/M only. If that fits, buy it.
- Endura FS260-Pro II MIPS Helmet (Sigma Sports): from £46, was £100, save £54 (54%). Last week’s pick is still live. £46 is for Red in S/M; Black and White in S/M are £62.
- Giro Helios Spherical (Tredz): £64.99, RRP £239.99, save £175 (73%). A premium lid with MIPS Spherical at a big discount, but only in size S (51-55cm), in four colours.
Muckers verdict: the Starvos wins because it’s well protected, well priced and comes in a full size range. Small heads should look at the Helios and Liv, because the bargains are better there.
Gloves
The clocks have gone back, so it’s time for proper winter gloves: insulated, waterproof and easy to spot in the dark.
- 🏆 Best Value Pick: Altura Nightvision Insulated Waterproof Long Finger Gloves (Tredz): £29.99, RRP £45, save £15.01 (33%). Insulated and waterproof (8k/8k rated), with a silicone palm print for grip, reflective print for visibility and a longer cuff. Black in M to XXL and Yellow in M to XL were in stock, with other sizes on pre-order. Not the biggest discount on this page, but it’s the one that’s built for a wet November commute and comes in your size.
- Giro Xnetic H2O Long Finger Winter Gloves (Tredz): £18.99, RRP £54.99, save £36 (65%). Waterproof winter gloves at a third of the price. The catch: the £18.99 price is on Hi Viz Yellow in S and XL only.
- Chiba 2nd Skin Waterproof & Windprotect Gloves (Tredz): £12.99, RRP £34.99, save £22 (63%). The cheapest pair on the list, but only Black in XXL was in stock. Big hands win this week.
- Endura FS260 Pro Thermo Winter Gloves (Tredz): from £19.99, RRP £25, save up to £5.01 (20%). Warm, dependable gloves. £19.99 is for XL; M, XS and XXL are £22.50.
Muckers verdict: buy the Altura if you ride in the dark and the wet, which is everyone in Britain from now until March. If you happen to fit the Giro sizes, it’s a steal.
Shoes
Road shoes are on serious clearance, though some of the biggest discounts are on tiny or one-off sizes. Here’s what’s actually worth buying.
- 🏆 Best Value Pick: DMT KR4 PJ Men’s Road Cycling Shoes (Sigma Sports): £96, was £160, save £64 (40%). Last week’s pick, now £16 cheaper. Lace-up road shoes with that classic DMT look. White/Black was in stock in EU 39, 40, 41, 42, 43 and 45, plus Black/White in 39. Good-looking road shoes for under a ton.
- DMT KR4 Men’s Road Cycling Shoes (Sigma Sports): £111, was £199, save £88 (44%). The standard KR4, with every size from EU 39 to 45 in stock in Black (and White in 39). The bigger percentage saving, if you’d rather have black shoes for winter.
- Giro Imperial Road Cycling Shoes (Sigma Sports): £129, was £399, save £270 (68%). Giro’s top-level race shoe for less than a third of the price. £129 is for Black in EU 40 and 41; EU 42 is £162.
- Café du Cycliste Road Cycling Shoes (Sigma Sports): from £81, was £285, save up to £204 (72%). Stylish white road shoes. £81 is for EU 37 and 38; EU 39, 42 and 46 are £105.
Muckers verdict: the KR4 PJ gets the nod for the price and the size spread. If you’re an EU 40 or 41, the Giro Imperial is a pro-level shoe at a club-run price.
Seasonal Picks: Wet Roads, Dark Evenings and a Frosty Forecast
With Boelo behind us, more gales on the way and the first frosts not far off, this is the week to sort the kit that keeps you riding outside, or keeps the bike working when it’s been through a Scottish-grade puddle. Prices in pounds, from UK retailers.
Mountain Bikes
- 🏆 Best Value Pick: Giant Talon 4 (2025) Hardtail MTB (Tredz): £475, RRP £525, save £50 (10%). A proper 27.5″ hardtail from one of the biggest names in the business, and the cheapest decent-value mountain bike we could verify this week. Size warning: £475 applies to Black in XS and S, and to Radiant Orange in XS, S, L and XL (XXL is available on supplier stock). Black in M, L and XL and Orange in M were out of stock when we checked, and Black M and XXL are listed at £525 and out of stock. If you’re in the right size, this is a great way into winter trail riding without spending big.
Muckers verdict: a 10% saving won’t make your eyes water, but a quality hardtail at £475 is a fair price for a bike that’ll happily take a muddy lap in November. Check your size first, because the stock is patchy.
Mudguards
- 🏆 Best Value Pick: SKS Raceblade Pro XL Mudguard Set (Tredz): £36.95, RRP £54.99, save £18.04 (33%). Quick-fit road mudguards that suit disc-brake bikes and leave room for wider tyres, so they work on a lot of modern road and endurance bikes. In stock when we checked. If your bike has mudguard mounts, you’ll thank yourself every time you ride behind someone who hasn’t fitted any.
Muckers verdict: at £36.95 this is the cheapest way to keep a wet-weather ride, and your riding buddies, much cleaner. Always check the fit for your frame and tyre width before ordering.
Winter Tyres
- 🏆 Best Value Pick (road): Goodyear Vector 4Seasons Tubeless Complete Road Tyre, 700x25c (Tredz): £27, RRP £65, save £38 (58%). A four-season tubeless-ready road tyre at less than half price, and Tredz showed plenty in stock. This listing is for the 700x25c size; check your frame has room.
- 🏆 Best Value Pick (MTB): Schwalbe Nobby Nic Addix All-Rounder MTB Tyre, 27.5×2.25 (Tredz): £19.99, RRP £31.99, save £12 (38%). A well-known all-rounder knobbly for mixed, muddy trails, and cheap enough to fit a fresh pair. Size warning: this listing is the 27.5×2.25 only, so it won’t fit 29″ wheels.
Muckers verdict: fresh rubber is the cheapest upgrade you can make before winter. The Goodyear is the deal if you ride the road and the Nobby Nic is the one for the trails, as long as your wheels are 27.5″.
Lights and Layers
The clocks have gone back, so be seen, and stay warm and dry when the frost arrives.
- 🏆 Best Value Pick: Lezyne Zecto Drive 200+ Rear Light (Tredz): £24, RRP £40, save £16 (40%). A bright rear light from a respected brand for the commute home in the dark. The most useful £24 you’ll spend this autumn.
- Altura Progel Plus Men’s Thermal Bib Tights (Tredz): £49.99, RRP £80, save £30.01 (38%). Thermal bib tights for the first frosty mornings. Sizes S, M, L, XL and XXL were available (L is supplier stock).
- Altura Nightvision Waterproof Overshoes (Tredz): £26.99, RRP £30, save £3.01 (10%). Waterproof overshoes in sizes S to XL. A small saving, but wet feet are the quickest route to a miserable ride.
- Altura Night Vision Women’s Storm Jacket (Tredz): £64.99, RRP £100, save £35.01 (35%). A waterproof storm jacket, in UK sizes 8 to 18 in yellow and 10 to 16 in blue.
Muckers verdict: start with the £24 rear light, because being seen is the best bargain going. Then add the thermal tights and overshoes before the frosts arrive.
Europe (prices in €)
A short one for our riders on the continent. These are euro prices including VAT from Canyon and Rose Bikes (the Rose site is in German), and every one was in stock when we checked. Delivery costs and availability depend on your country, so check at the checkout. We haven’t converted anything from pounds, so these are the prices shown on the retailer sites.
- 🏆 Best Value Pick: Canyon Spectral 125 AL 5 (Outlet) (Canyon): €1,899, original price €2,599, save €700 (27%). A trail mountain bike with a big outlet saving. In stock in M, L and XL in Real Raw when we checked; size S was out of stock.
- SKS Raceblade Pro XL Mudguard Set (Rose Bikes): from €26.95, UVP €44.99, save €18.04 (40%). The same mudguards as our UK pick. The “from” price is the cheapest variant, so check yours.
- Continental Grand Prix 4-Season Road Tyre (Rose Bikes): from €44.95, UVP €78.95, save €34 (43%). A proper four-season road tyre. The price depends on size and variant, so check yours.
- GOREWEAR Swiftride Thermo Tights (Rose Bikes): €64.95, UVP €119.95, save €55 (46%). Men’s winter tights from a premium brand at almost half price.
- Shimano Dual Rain Shoe Cover (Rose Bikes): from €24.95, UVP €49.95, save €25 (50%). Half-price rain overshoes. Again, the “from” price is for the cheapest variant.
Muckers verdict: the Canyon outlet Spectral is the headline, if your size is still there. For everyone else, Rose has the cheapest winter-weather kit on the list.
Final Thoughts
If you’re only buying one thing this week, make it the Saris M2. For £239.99 it turns your existing bike into a Rouvy-ready indoor setup, and with gales and fog on the way that’s a lot of ride you can do without leaving the house. If you’re riding outside, the SKS mudguards at £36.95 and a £24 rear light are the cheapest ways to make winter riding properly pleasant, and the Altura gloves will keep the hands working when the frosts arrive. Ride safe, stay warm, and we’ll see you next Monday with another round of deals.
Prices and stock were checked on the date of posting (26 October 2026). They can change at any time, including sizes and colours. Sale prices often apply to selected variants only, so check the retailer page before buying. Euro prices include VAT and “from” prices are for the cheapest variant.
