24 Hours, 502km, and 21 Races—The RaTim 50@500 Challenge
Date: February 21, 2026 Start Time: 08:00 AM GMT The Goal: 502km | 10,130m Elevation | 21 Races
Imagine the mental and physical fortitude required to ride 502 kilometers indoors in a single day. Now, imagine doing it while climbing over 10,000 meters—more than the height of Mount Everest. On February 21, Mucker Tomáš (RaTim) is undertaking this massive feat.
But this isn’t just about the numbers. It’s a celebration of a “perfect storm” of milestones: reaching Level 100 on Rouvy, celebrating his third anniversary on the platform, and approaching his personal 50th birthday.
While Tomáš admits he always wanted to try a 24-hour ride, he doesn’t like riding in the dark. His solution? A curated series of 21 back-to-back races that turns a grueling solo effort into a community-wide celebration.
Here is why you should clear your calendar and hop in the saddle with him.
1. It’s Not a Solo Ride—It’s an Open Invitation
Most people attempting a 500km challenge would pick one long route. Tomáš chose the opposite. He broke the challenge into 21 separate races specifically to make it easier for the community to join.
As Tomáš explains:
“I preferred multiple races over one 500km long race to allow as many friends as possible to join in. I know not everyone is crazy as me to sit on a trainer for 100, 250 or even 500km.”
Whether you join for one race, two, or the whole haul, the goal is companionship. He is asking for help to finish the races, offering a draft, or simply just being there.
2. A Journey Through Friendship
This isn’t a random collection of routes. Tomáš decided that ranking routes by difficulty or favorites wasn’t the point; instead, he chose routes that allowed him to mention and honor his closest friends.
The schedule acts as a rolling tribute to the Muckers community:
- Challenge Almere (Netherlands): Dedicated to Silvia (SillySilNL), whom Tomáš credits with getting him fully involved in the Muckers group—”the best thing that has happened to me in the world of virtual cycling”.
- IRONMAN 70.3 Bolton: A clear and simple dedication to Neil & Kyle (Mucker1974 & Kylofski), thanking them for everything they do for all of us.
- Vancouver (Canada): Honoring his frequent training partner Mike Hagen, who proved that age is just a number and even flew to the Black Forest to meet the group in person.
- L’Etape Czech Republic: Dedicated to Pepa Lojza (B109), the friend who first confirmed Rouvy was the right place for virtual cycling.
- Virtual TotA (Italy): Dedicated to Manuel (Sharky), thanking him for the rides past and future.
3. Riding Through Personal History
The event is also a window into Tomáš’s life. He has included routes he created himself, sharing landscapes that hold deep personal meaning.
- Říp | Czechia: A flat route under a legendary mountain associated with his childhood and grandparents.
- Doupno to Rakovník | The Finale: The final race of the challenge is the most poignant. It follows a circuit from his teenage years, passing meadows he has helped maintain for over 20 years. In a powerful finish, the route ends right in front of his birthplace.
4. How to Join (And What to Expect)
Tomáš has calculated the timing carefully. The pace is set at 2.0 W/kg, with 20% draft settings, allowing for a steady rhythm that maximizes the chance of finishing.
This event captures the true spirit of the Muckers. Tomáš recalls his first race on the difficult Grossglockner route: he wasn’t the fastest, but he wasn’t last, and he realized that “everyone does races, not just the best”.
That is the energy for February 21st.
“Whatever it all turns out to be, I’m glad I decided to give it a try. And to you who are joining us for one, two or twenty-one races: take it easy and enjoy the races where winning is not the most important thing.”
