Interesting Race route. Probably not a lot of you realized it was a 26 miler today, yes we had a long constant climb with a few little kickers just to push you over the limit, but the long downhill and the last section just seemed to fly-by, especially if you’d been lucky enough to have some helpful draft from the top to the finish! 68 starters so 18 were not going to get into that top 50, so it was a race to not be in those positions, rather than win for a lot of us tonight!

5 way sprint for the finish has the makings for a classic race for these 5 riders, but it was “Erlendsundstrom” who claims the glory tonight, “Tuden” 2nd and “BareRemi” in 3rd, with “barely” (see what i did there) a gap between these 3! Then in a blink of an eye comes “STADLER-TONI” in 4th with “karelsousek” in 5th. we then have a little break, lets say of around 42 seconds, then bam! a 3 way sprint which is won by “hinsbergen” for 6th, “nelsonsnyder” in 7th and “Stefan_Schmidt” for 8th. 9th is no-mans-land territory for “Karol-ESZ” with large gaps before and after, but just over 2 minutes later we have a 6 way sprint for 10th!!

Unfortunately this is where we get our first NEDs, and it applies to 3 of these 6. But rules are rules so the 3 mentions go to “Stefan793” for 10th, “lrollin” for 11th and “tranberg” in 12th. REMEMBER! this rule isn’t aimed at anyone in particular, its to try and stop the serial cheaters from spoiling the Muckers Races. Friendship and HR, its pretty easy and simple to do, just don’t take it as a personal attack if you decide its not for you.

okay, so where were we…. oh yes, 13th mention! This goes to “Dok_PS” who just outsprints “anatso” into 14th, with Birthday Boy “Andy_UP” getting 15th, leading home 4 more Muckers Worldwide team mates with “nielsbrynnum” in 16th, “m-forby” in 17th, Top Female “SillySilNL” in 18th then “Svard” in 19th, just in front of final mention for tonight…… “ludwigdb” showing you just never know if your gonna get bumped up 7 places to the mention spots, so always push push push!!!

Well done everyone that finished, and to those above, go get a special mention T-Shirt from the shop?? you know you want to!!

keep scrolling to see championship standings.

cheers everyone, Mucker1974

Neil Rushby

co-founder of muckersworldwide.com and race organizer! Been into cycling since a kid and spent most of the time on BMX and mountain bikes. Took me longer than most to get the road cycling bug but I was bitten around 5 years ago when I finally got a fully fledged road bike that fitted and I let the flat handled road bike go...

started fast and was with a very strong group that even in the draft, just pulled a little too strongly so i was eventually dropped, but luckily, so where a few others and we formed our own pack and did ok to the top of the climb. found myself around 43rd over the top and felt quite confident I’d be able to hold on to the end as the little kickers that were left aren’t that bad for me, unlike long continuous climbs. I was still around riders who are normally way out ahead and when it came time for the sprint i gave it everything and got 2nd out of about 6 of us to claim 40th overall.

Not really in any contention for this months championship as i missed the first one due to vacation and I’m going to miss the last one as that’s when I’ll be travelling out to our yearly Flanders get together, so 2 races out of the 4 for me this month. So just enjoying them.

Well done to Lyndon who was glitching like a good-un and kept clawing his way back to us, only to keep glitching back again! well done Mucker as that was some effort to keep coming back, and, win the sprint!!

    • Lyndon Wright says:

cheers for that Neil, I was quite sore this morning 😁. Top route

    • anatso says:

      Hello Neil,
Thanks for your highly professional support for the Mucker racing platform.

      A quick $64,000 question:
So, when are you introducing the 70+ Age group? Before or after Rouvy’s move?
      Sincerely, Olav

      • Neil Rushby says:

Hi Olav, thanks for reaching out! i think it will be Rouvy who will do that first! we’ve tried to put riders into there categories on the website but it didn’t really catch on and no one missed it when i stopped doing it. isn’t 70 the new 60 anyway 😁😉

        • Silvia says:

I did notice Neil, I do miss the women’s category. But it was snowed under by all the other categories 🤷‍♀️. So now I just try to get into the top 20 and get my mention there 😉

  2. Tranberg says:

What a race! I managed to punch above my weight and get with the first group from the start. And I really had to work hard on the minor slopes hitting 7 w/kg just to follow. At the bottom of the final ramp of the long climb, we were just 10 left with a big gap to the next group. However, I was done and had to wave goodbye to the group and unfortunately I was left alone with around 20 km to go. Despite having almost 2 km’s advantage after the climb, I was eaten by the next group with 6 km to go, and managed to hang on to what was a 13th place. Very tired afterwards, but what a race!

  3. Manuel Lamber says:

As always I get the starting times wrong, once the warmup was over, I connected and the countdown was at 6” 🤯. I’m not off to a great start but I’m trying to get busy. I can’t hold on to Silvia and at first I’m in a big group, until the climbs and pushes start. For a good part of the race I find myself with Regina, whom I thank for the uphill drafts, which I then tried to repay on the downhill and on the flat zone. Too bad for Loki72, when I see a muckers t-shirt, I always try to lend a hand but today perhaps he had other plans, Regina and I took turns and a few times he took the initiative, not even downhill and in fact they reached us and passed his friends Chak, yayarecki and coincidentally then Loki started pushing with them 🤷‍♂️.
On the last climb we caught up with MatthiasHeil and we all finished together with a final sprint that never started… where he prevailed.
    Greetings everyone 💪

  4. Kyle Goodram says:

I thought tonight’s race would suit me, and yes, it would, apart from the massive 6-mile downhill. But nope, as I said on Tuesday, I hoped it didn’t burn me out for tonight’s race. Well, yes, I was burnt out. I started off slow and then joined a small group with Phil_SCRT and grupedo. It was only on the last climb that I pulled away slightly. I could see Duckman2 and Mick_Michel ahead, so I tried to catch them. I passed Duckman2, but Mick_Michel pulled away from me. For the next 10 miles after the climb, my aim was to catch Mick_Michel. Guess what? I didn’t. Well done, Mick_Michel. You are a lot stronger than you think.

  5. Tom (tomlerieger) says:

what a nice route. started well and found a strong group at around place 25th. We cought the group before us just at the top of the hill, so fight far a mention was open. I attacked 2km before finish line because Andy_up was in the group an he has an unbeatable sprint tactics. So I surprosed everyone in the group with my long sprint and I could hold a gap of 40m until the finish!!! screen was frozen: no 16th but a dnf! not really nice of you rouvy:
    but I pedal on, Tom

    • Doc_PS says:

That was a good ride. And the finish freeze happened to me last Tuesday as well. In order to finally finish on Rouvy you have to re-join and finalise the last meter. Interestingly, Strava records a finish .. 🤷‍♂️

Nice move in the end.. I waited and speculated on the others to close the gap before the finish line but this didn’t work out. Everyone seemed to be tired.

  6. Mike Hagen says:

Finally feeling good. Primed and ready for a hammerfest, I wanted a rocket start and a fast group. I know my strengths: if I could hang with the young turks while they depleted their anaerobic power reserves on the gradual climb, the top of the hill would be easier ’cause I don’t slow down as much. Rocket start, top ten, and I start coughing. Coughing and coughing. Four minutes later, I’ve cleared the gunk from my lungs and I’m 40ish something. Sigh. Still with a fast group and making up ground (Hi, Matthias!), surprised when nielsbrynnum zooms by with some other Vikings, but grab his wheel. Then the screen goes blank. WTF? It flickers and there’s nothing there but the desktop. Laptop is still running, couldn’t see any avatars, couldn’t see any numbers, but the scenery is still rolling. Jump off trainer and toggle the show back to the big screen. We’re okay, 100 m back and losing ground; I get back to speed but I have no draft and can’t get back on. Sigh. Catch up to bikeanddogtrips and we ride to the finish together. Sometimes it is what it is.

  7. karel sousek says:

On way home i stopped at meetup to greet former mates. Wish i could stay longer, tough decision, but Rouvy race of the week will not wait and at the end your performance will improve by racing, not by drinking beer. Gladly enough time to warm up during race, as it was another flat race. Big group, step by step reduced. Main climb in the second half of the route. Tuden and Erlend went into early breakaway before that, but we could catch them, as our group was bigger and cooperating.

When the main climb came (not sure we can call it a climb at all), it was about short ~1min all out effort to stay with leaders. Luckily i had only 23C indoor, so could produce required power to stay in top5. Then long descent and flat section towards sprint finish where all boys were stronger. Very happy with result, as i still feel fatique from last week, so good to see recovery step by step. Thank you all who joined!

  8. michael guthinger g says:

    Looked
Like some big finishes. Nice work to the groups

  9. Lyndon Wright says:

What a race, lost connection right at the start and lost about 2mins or so. Now the chase begins. 66 position and wanted a top 50 if possible. started to gain ground and picked a few off just in front was Kyle and a small group so chased after then and got some draft, much needed. Up pops Neill aka muckers75. so as we hit the long climb I pushed on and bridged across for a very much need draft. Now the fun starts 6 or 7 of us going down the nice long hill and guess what glitch chased back glitch again and again it settled and a bloody good sprint by all and just managed to pip them. A very hard race but enjoyable.
