MUCKERS 2026 APRIL CHAMPIONSHIP RACE 4.

ROUTE AND RACE DETAILS:

RideCymru 2026 | Gospel Pass | 16.3 miles | 1,873 ft. climbing

ROUVY SAY: Wales’ highest road and one of its most formidable climbs, Gospel Pass winds through the Black Mountains between Hay Bluff and Twmpa, rising to 549 metres above sea level. This tough, exposed route rewards you with sweeping views over the Vale of Ewyas and the Wye Valley before you drop down to the historic market town of Abergavenny; often known as the Gateway to Wales.

WE SAY: Wales Highest road! Nice! Tough looking route for some of us heavier riders with the climb at the beginning which means we at least will be at full strength for it, but so will all those pesky lightweights. Hopefully we get them back on the “downhill” part after the climb. As if…..

Remember whoever wins the Categories below (apart from Elite) will get a promotion to the next category for next month! Simple!!

Not so simple however (but makes sense if you read it lol) is we will relegate each categories lowest scoring rider who has completed all 4 of this months races, but, only if 4 or more riders have also done all 4 races that month. Basically, we don’t want to relegate anyone who has also managed to finish top 3 in there category. It doesn’t sit well that if a rider gets award top 3 bonus points, but then still gets relegated down a category due to a lack of riders doing all 4 races in that particular category does it. So that’s why we only demote a rider if 4 or more riders in that category have done all 4 races in the month.

And lastly, we will also be running through the whole results for the month and seeing if we need to move anyone else up or down. Basically if anyone sticks out like a sore thumb! but we will only move them 1 category either way and re-assess next month.

WHATS NEXT TO COME:

Remember you are more than welcome to come and race with us on any of our races even if the championships are of no interest to you. The more the merrier!! These championships are just here as extra motivation and fun ways to train.

Sunday Hill Climb (aka the Sunday hill climb championship)

Pikes Peak Highway | Colorado | USA | 18.05 miles | 6,516 ft. climbing!

Yes! it’s time for a big one! We’ve had far too many double headers and easy climbs recently that we just felt it was time to do a “proper” climb. So although this isn’t a current challenge route, it’s one that a lot of the Muckers haven’t done yet so lets try and complete this one together. Get your strategy right, pace it as you are going to be on the bike for a while, keep your body fueled correctly and you will complete this epic climb. Good Luck

Search “Muckers Sunday” in the event search function on ROUVY to find all the scheduled climbs we have created so far. All start times included in the championship.

Tuesday Race Night (aka the w/kg training championship)

VIRGIN MARY TO SIRINCE Türkiye / turkey | 9.81 miles | 1,109 ft. climbing

Its 2.8 day!! I am trying to chose the routes that give us all the best chance to hit these 2.8 and 3.0 weeks, so i hope this one works. Yes its got a downhill at the beginning, but we have an uphill finish which lasts about 5 miles so plenty of time to get that average up to 2.8w/kg! Don’t ever say i am not good to you! lol

Search “Muckers Tuesday” in the event search function on ROUVY to find all the scheduled races we have created so far at the 5 different start times. All start times included in the championship

Thursday Race Night. HIIT NIGHT!!!!!

We have hit our 2nd month of the year with 5 Thursdays and that means its a spare night so we have arranged one of our now famous HIIT nights! But this time is the “Bad homburg” special!

If you are new to our HIIT night, its basically an hour filled up with 13 very short races. So you go flat out to the finish then recover as you make your way through the app to get to the next one, hoping you get there and you still have a minute to recover! Then you go again! Every race starts at a 5 minute interval. HIIT stands for “HIGH INTENSITY INTERVAL TRAINING” and that is exactly the training structure this format gives you!

So this one is called the Bad Homburg special as we are using the 1 lap of this epic loop 7 times! The 6 races in between are flat ones that we’ve never used before and hope they are good routes.

We will split the event into 3 different goals. 1: the overall winner over the 13 races. 2: the fastest to do all 7 bad homburg races and 3: the one who does all 6 flat sprints the fastest!

Little tips: download all 13 races and add them to your favorites. Just for this one night. We have started the title of each race with the race number so its “easy” to find, but once this thing gets going and you are navigating the app whilst trying to recover, you need to be able to find the next one quickly. And lastly, have fun!!

TO FINISH OFF:

Another Month done and what a race that was! I think everyone gave this a good go on a route that was pretty much a race of 2 halves. A horrible climb then a fun downhill! Or maybe the other way round for others……

Well done to the whole top 50! Well done if you won your category or at least got top 3 and get those lovely bonus points as well! And to those that have been relegated, you now get a much better chance to get top 3 in your new category, so next month is your month to shine!!

World championship blog will be updated some time before we kick off next months worlds so keep an eye out for that…

Thanks everyone again for racing with us, we really hope you are all enjoying this competitive way to get through the current challenges on ROUVY, we feel it’s great fun and always pushes you to try harder than riding them in “just ride” mode. We also have a great group of regular riders now that really help you gauge how well you are doing by who’s around you on the road which is all down to you guys, so again, thanks for being with us.

So, lets get this blog published and hopefully you can take the time to leave a comment on how the race was for yourselves as it’s now become my Saturday morning routine to read through them all whilst having my breakfast lol.

Thanks for taking the time to read the blog, especially those that read to the very end. Appreciate it.

Calculated the climb would be approx 30 minutes so my plan was to average 3.0/3.1w/kg to the top and let gravity do it’s work on my 99kg body on the way down.

Massive debt of gratitude to UncleE64 who definitely was helping pace me up the climb and stayed with me to the top, small panic as he pulled away slightly at the peak … noooooo, don’t leave me now … but he paused and waited. I was knackered now but felt obligated to assist and do some pulling on the way down as 4worldpeace and Sunniva were not giving up the chase. Very pleased with the result and grateful I wasn’t solo on the descent.

    • Eric H. (UncleE64) says:

And thanks to you Mr. Ludford! I really appreciated the efforts you made on the downhill, especially because I can imagine what it cost you to stay with me all the way up. Not that I’m any kind of a climber, but I’m about 23kg lighter than you! Too bad for me that Duckman2 went over the top with El Tractor, but more on that topic when I post below. We didn’t catch anyone on the way down, but we sure did try and at least no one caught us either. Cheers!

It’s interesting how you were optimistic looking at the riders ahead and I was pessimistic looking at the riders behind. In hindsight I wish I’d buried myself to get you across to Chak, I think it was possible but I was worried it would finish me and leave me vulnerable from behind. It’s a shame we don’t always know each other’s personal battles as I do enjoy changing race objectives ‘on the fly’ and your Category situation was closer than mine.

        • Eric H. (UncleE64) says:

Yeah – would’ve been great to talk. I’m still using phone for Rouvy app, so I don’t get a good overall view of the race and wasn’t really keeping tabs on who was behind. Even if we’d caught Chak though, I’d still have lost the month to Duckman2, since he and El_Tractor passed ValRdz before the end putting another place between us. Races within Races!

    • Neil Rushby says:

great teamwork guys and great read

  2. Neil Rushby says:

what a tough but fantastic race that was! Plan was pace the climb at 3.0 but that soon changed to “don’t drop below 2.7” and was crazy that after 30 mins, my average power was 260 watts and i was pretty much in the back group, riding in about 45th place! But i kept it up, and near the top we were a group of 3, and i think we all felt it was better to go over the crest together and see if we could help each other to the bottom.

We did exactly that! I felt PL1969 was well up for this and i just stuck to trying to slingshot with him the most and unfortunately, we dropped the 3rd rider of our trio on one of the kickers, but this was all out now! No backing off to let riders jump back on! caught a few and blew straight past them. We just kept catching riders!! We got to Fazzo who valiantly tried to stay in front of us for as long as he could but you just can’t stay in front of a duo who are working quite well together for too long before you are eaten up, but when we caught him, he jumped on and stayed with us to the end. Respect!

We caught another 2 riders a few miles from home and we were a strong 5 but way off catching the next group so now it was time to work out what to do to win this mini race I tested them all on a few of the kickers and i felt confident that on the last one, i could possibly gap them by surprise, but only if i was in the draft and launched from the back! I was well placed, the time came, i kicked, i gapped…. then i somehow came unclipped on my right foot!!!!! arrrggghhhh lol had to sit back down, keep the power on with my left leg as i tried in vain to get my right foot to clip in, but i was at such a fast cadence i lost so much time! somehow i was still in front and just at that 45-50 ft gap in front but i was knackered and they reeled me back in. If i’d have got over 100ft in front, i think i could have hung on but the gap wasn’t enough after my malfunction and i had no reply to the sprint off so i ended up last in the group! ah well, it was epic and i loved it anyway. well done everyone, hope you all enjoyed it too.

I’ve also moved up a category but more due to myself being the only rider in A6 to finish every race this month so i got the most points. I’m not an A5 rider at all but i’m very interested to see how erm.. badly i do lol. Lets see.

    • Paul Bernstein says:

Neil, sorry to bother you, but yesterday after I typed typed away, and pressed send, a message popped up and indicated that my message would only be posted after an administrator approved it, or somesuch. Hopefully you can find it as I had fun with it. 4x

      • Neil Rushby says:

hi Paul, yes it does that for certain comments or people and we have no idea why! We normally check everyday to see if we need to approve someones comments so when that happens, just bare with us and it will get approved.

    • Brian Westfall (4WorldPeace) says:

      Have fun in A5 Neil!!

      • Neil Rushby says:

lol…. I was speaking to Mr Ludford about this just yesterday and we liken it to a small local football team winning promotion to the Premier League! Yes you deserve the promotion down to getting the most points, but now get ready to loose every match and come straight back down…. but i am looking at it as a great month of training in store before the real world trip to Italy at the beginning of June!

        • Brian Westfall (4WorldPeace) says:

Love the half full glass attitude! It’s always showing up and the effort that truly counts. 😎

    • paul bernstein says:

Neil, sorry to bother you yet again. If you find my yesterdays effort, trash it. I did a slightly shorter offering this morning and was successful in downloading it to this site. cheers

    • Eric H. (UncleE64) says:

Hi Neil – great read and great job this month. My only real regret about being demoted to A6 is that I won’t be competing in same cat as you next month! Congrats on the promo! We’ll be pulling for you to stay up there a while. Maybe we should start a pool

  3. Mike Hagen says:

What a fun race this was, and Gospel Pass didn’t disappoint. No rocket start for me as the climb started right away. I planned a steady 4 all the way up and to hopefully have someone to work with on the descent. That someone turned out to be Jana.Sterbova, but it almost didn’t work that way because TonyOldGit came by about three quarters the way up and stole her away from me. Fortunately Jana didn’t stick with Tony and came back to me. Which made me very happy! Because we worked the two-up extremely well on the descent, caught Pablo (who didn’t respond) and then caught wolli.d (who grabbed our wheels), and the three of us then caught Dok_PS (who couldn’t stick). 500 m to go, downhill, I went then hoping to surprise the others and get a big enough gap to win the sprint. Of course that doesn’t work, it never has, and if I haven’t learned that by now, I never will. Sigh.
But it looks like I won A2 and am going to get promoted into A1. OMG. I’m sure I’ll be back in A2 in June!

    • Paul Bernstein says:

Mike, I know that in a few days you will achieve a new age group. you will know you are there when AI pops up and tells you that everything you are doing or will ever now do is IMPOSSIBLE …welcome to the club. cheers

    • Neil Rushby says:

Well done Mike and great read. Also, love how everyone has really taken the categories to heart and really seeing this as an extra challenge for the next month, or even the extra motivation and focus for the last race of the month. It’s awesome!

  4. Chris Timmerman says:

I really have enjoyed all the RideCymru routes so far, but this one was hard one with most of the climbing stuffed on the front end of the route.
I need to work harder, because I am only about a point ahead of EatMorCake and it seems like I should be able to distance myself from someone who eats more cake.

    • Neil Rushby says:

Hey Chris, nice to hear from you in the comments! Also, great battle between you and eatmorecake and you have won A9! good luck in A8 next month where you will have some tough competition, especially as you are pretty much riding yours solo in the 2LATE4ME slot.

  5. Brian Westfall (4WorldPeace) says:

Gotta love those big long climbs at the beginning of the race!! Simple plan, ride as hard as I can on the climb, hope to go over the top with another rider, and then ride hard down hill but, save just enough for a sprint at the finish. Simple!! Well, I knew I wouldn’t be able to stay with a faster group on the climb so i just settled in and tried to average 3.0. Road with StepanB and VilemStrakos the first 3rd of the climb but VilemStrakos was able to pull away. I knew Sunniva would be coming soon and sure enough she caught us about halfway up. Now my game plan was to just try and work with her, and StepanB (more like hang on actually) and get over the top together. We worked well together and were slowly cutting into the gap to VilemStrakos who I think was riding alone. StepanB fell of closer to the top and we caught VilemStrakos as we crested. I tried to kick over the top to get some momentum and Sunniva stayed with me. We both road hard together on the long decent to not get caught by the trio behind us but we had a pretty big gap. Unfortunately we weren’t gaining on the duo in front of us (Uncle64 and S.Ludford) so it looked like it would be the two of us sprinting to the finish. We were neck and neck and then Sunniva pulled slightly ahead so I gave it my all through the line an somehow finished .2 seconds in front. Great riding with you Sunniva! Hit my 3.0 up the climb, finished 48th for the race, 29th for the month, led cat 7, and heading to cat 6. I feel really good about my effort this month and looking forward to seeing what May will bring.

    • Sunniva says:

Hi Brian, you basically wrote everything about our race, and I can only agree with that 😀
I had a similar plan, but my biggest concerns were the descent, as I wouldn’t be able to stay on the descent behind the speeding big guys. Luckily, we managed to ride well together and maintain our positions. Thanks for the great teamwork.

    • Eric H. (UncleE64) says:

Congrats on the promo Brian! Well-deserved.

    • Neil Rushby says:

Great effort and read. Looks like so many riders had a plan for this last race which just shows how riders are working out what’s the best way to tackle a route rather than balls-out and hope for the best! (we reserve that kinda effort for the HIIT nights lol) I can’t climb with sunniva or Stepan so well done for holding onto those riders. Have a great A6!

  6. Dominique EddyDomino RODRIGUEZ says:

What a great route! Despite the many irregularities on the climb, it was really enjoyable to have this challenging ascent right from the start. I managed to warm up well with the tour of the Alps stage 4, maintaining a zone 2 effort, then a 15mn rest and go go go for the race.
In the first part I stayed with wolli.d & Jana.Sterbova, as usual we caught up with MatthiasHeil, and then with Grochang and I stayed with him until the top and the first part of the descent. However, he was to strong for me at each little bump, and I saw him flew away when we caught up with Pablo45. I would have liked to finish quietly but TonyOldGit was chipping away at my lead meter by meter or rather foot by foot 🥵, so I tried to maintain a quite strong pace keeping him at a fistful of seconds on the line.
Nice race, see you all in 2 weeks for the strange TT contest on the flanders circuit!
Thanks everyone, nice to see you each thursday.

  7. Stepan Busta (StepanB) says:

Hi Brian, to be honest, I need to lose a “few” pounds to keep up with you and Suniva on the hills. I prayed (probably not hard enough) that Suniva wouldn’t catch up to us too soon. If I could have kept up with you on the hills, I could have helped you maintain a pace in the second half of the race. But thanks for letting me stick with you and not fall too far behind VilemStrakos. (The situation in Group A8 was very interesting before the last race—and it would have been even more interesting if Fazzo34 had completed all the races.)

Since this is my last race of the extended “winter” season, I’d like to thank everyone involved. It’s very addictive, and I’m already looking forward to the continuation in October. 🙂

    • Neil Rushby says:

Great read and it’s been great having you racing with us. We will be here when you return, or whenever you feel like making a “surprise appearance” if you happen to not get out in the real world one night!

    • Brian Westfall (4WorldPeace) says:

lol! I was praying for the same thing but, Sunniva always seems to bridge the gaps on the hills. I don’t think I’ve ever had a big enough lead on longer steeper hills to crest without her catching me. Thankfully I’ve been able to grab her wheel lately. Great riding with you, it definitely helped. See you next October Stepan!

  8. Manuel Lamber SHARK says:

Start with reflection about the point in own cat, it’s correct that a rider who don’t ride one of the 4 take the bonus points? In cat 4 if one arrive second without one race and always in top 10, perhaps he is not for A4 🧐.
Came back to the race, very big effort for the long hill, but I’m very proud to hold 3.5/3.6 agv until the top… it was a pity that after all the hill where my friend Andy chupa all the wheels of the group, when we arrive near to the top, I lost 30 mt from they, and don’t wait me for try for work group in downhill… after my big effort often in front…. The next time I must improve a little more, but I understand the lesson…
Downhill always a good pace for catch someone and don’t be hunting from the back position.
I work with BTK_jiri70_cz but him not want to choose a 🌪️ tactic for take Matthiasheil, perhaps he was tired? Or was a tactic? 🤷‍♂️ also this time for less of 200 mt don’t catch him.
I won my personal sprint, but also with good data, in my new cat, I finished 4th without extra points… and the next month will be more difficult challenge with Big Riders, but we’ll see what’s happening. See you to the next 👋💪🦈

    • karel sousek says:

Hard climb right after the start. Feeling rocker solid, so could stay in front group, until four guys left. I followed Andrus and Stadler and it was also strong group. When we rolled over the horizon and started to chase Velobuch and Sylv, i noticed little cramps. We catched those two and there were only Baremi and Marecki ahead of us, but with big advantage.

I would love to push more in that long descent section and try to chase then, but i could feel cramps threatening all the time. I initiated sprint finish, but again got cramp in final 100m. No wonder with best 20min power this year, which is on the other hand below my standard, yet. It is as it is, let’s celebrate the effort. Thank you all who joined us!

    • Neil Rushby says:

Lets start with your reflection: Yes, it is fine that perswe got more bonus points than you, he scored more points overall. Is he in the wrong category? yes. But we don’t move riders mid month or for the final race, but he clearly needs moving up a category and is our only “non-automatic” mover that Ste and myself decided on from this months riders. So you now have no excuse next month not to get top 3 lol xx

Great effort for the month yet again Mucker and just look at the riders you are now mentioning in your comments! You have really settled into that group of really strong riders now and long may it continue.

  9. Hans says:

Followed the plan to stay with the front until the 1,2 km with 11-12% average and then ride a solo TT the rest of the way – except the downhill was way harder than expected trying to stay away solo from Morten and Stefan feeling like the fox must feel in a fox hunt – and alone it was completely impossible to bridge the gap to the five guys in front that unfortunately decided to stay together 🥵
Was stupid enough to race with an overstrained knee from a wrongly adjusted cleat combined with running far to low gears on wednesday, and pushed through even if it did hurt, so let’s see if I have to take some of mai off riding & racing – if that’s the case it’s probably the first time i’m not envious of your italian journey in june. Must say it looks like a very well planned trip from Squalo👌even though a sadistic part of me wished he would drag you all up Punta Veleno instead of ‘just’ up Stevio and down Umbrail 😂 Looking forward to see all the pictures and thanx for another fun race guys 👋

    • Manuel Lamber says:

Thanks a lot for your comment, I hope in a wonderful meeting 💪🫶🏻🤞

    • Neil Rushby says:

Great read, Its really hard not to race when you kinda know you should take it easy isn’t it! But look after yourself and we will always be here for when you are ready to turn up. Also you can )honestly you CAN) take it easy on a few races and come and give me a pull instead?? (purely for your benefit not mine lol)

      • Hans says:

Cheers Neil 👍 Rookie mistake. But at the moment I could definitely do with a chair lift just like the one Jarvis used ages ago in Pulp’s “Help the Aged” video 🥴

  10. paul bernstein says:

Paul Bernstein (Pablo) Apologies is advance but yesterday I typed away for a long time and then somehow screwed up the autofill function to load my report. So I will try again, altho noone should have to suffer through my verbal offerings twice.
Make a plan said the man. When I took a look at the four April race offerings I thought, yes, maybe this one.
No rocket start here. Just 20 minutes of channeling Chris Froome RPMs and full on intensity.
Relax the jaw, the shoulders, the neck, and the hands. Bernard Hinault, in his book recommended relaxing the hands as if you are playing the piano. What shall we play today. I do like Lark Ascending…soar, sweep, ascend.
Nearing the top there I was with perswe and Dok_PS. Over the top, top 10 territory. 4.2 Watts/kg for the climb.
Qiuckly checking back, there were Eddie D and Grochang about 30 seconds in arrears. Way back I could see Mike H and his crew…Ah Ha, could this be the day?
I had , before the race started, sent out my race plan to everyone via e mail. Did anyone bother to read it? Let Pablo hook on for the ride down the mountain.
Nope. Woosh went perswe and Dok_PS. Woosh went Eddie D and Grochang, and not a thumbs up from anyone. I am still about ! K in front Of the Mike H gang.
I am at this point going downhill and my heartrate is literally maxing out. Before my heart can leap from my body I need to back off just a bit. But as someone said, if you are paranoid, dont look back because someone may just be chasing you. And they were
The handwriting was on the wall. I slipped into my old Easter carrot kit, as I was indeed the carrot. WOOSH.. Glad to be of service.
We are finished. I am hung over the bars, exhausted. May need to text the wife to come down to the basement and help me off the bike. To paraphrase Lord Tennison, “is is better to have raced and lost than never to have raced at all ?.” At this moment the jury is still out.
    Cheers everyone

    • Dominique EddyDomino RODRIGUEZ says:

      Hi Paul,
Sorry, for the thumb up, consider it now 👍, I was too concentrated on the back wheel of Grochang… I am so impressed by your performances, bravo.

    • Eric H. (UncleE64) says:

Great read Paul. I can identify with the disappointment of not catching on when someone passes on the downhill. That 50′ of draft disappears in a blink at high speed, so if we’re not able to basically wind up a full-out sprint as the pursuers approach (or the pursuers don’t wait a bit) it’s all over in a second or two. Still, 4.2 W/kg for the climb is monster and you should be deservedly proud of that!

    • Manuel Lamber SHARK says:

Always a pleasure to read your story Paul, well done 👍

    • Neil Rushby says:

lol….. your comments are always a great read and i even got the pleasure to have read both versions! I think there’s something a little bit wrong with us riders that when we are in the hunting pack, we all feel the need to blast past solo riders and hope they don’t jump on lol! Mucker, it happens to you guys up front, and it’s also happening all the way down the field! People are thinking “points” and “categories” on a Thursday and any way to move up a place or 2 is fair game. Your downhill sounds like a proper beat up, but also…. quite funny to read x

  11. Eric H. (UncleE64) says:

Entered the race with slim hopes of not finishing last in A5 this month. I really had no business being in A5, but since I found myself at the party, I might as well try to stick around and enjoy it, right? ValRdz was 2 places ahead of me entering the race. She climbs like a fiend, so extremely unlikely I’d catch her. Duckman2, however, was just behind me in the monthly standings, be he also climbs pretty well (certainly better than I). Not looking promising, but if I could somehow manage to finish just behind him on this race, I’d be able to stay in A5 another month. Game on!
Like so many others the plan was to ride hard but steady up the climb and then hope to get lucky and have someone to descend with. I’m thinking that if I’m within a minute of my quarry – and have some help – we have a chance to chase him down. Plan goes great! I’m climbing steady, not overdoing it at the bottom and all 99kg of SLudford is hanging tough – even trading some pulls. Gosh, I wish I had virtual shifting though! Wife is asking, “what the heck is all that noise!” Anyway, we’re about halfway up and I can see Duckman2 is only 2 places ahead of us! He’s far enough ahead that there’s no way to close the gap on the climb even if I had the legs (which I don’t), but heck – as long as I can stay within 1 or 2 places – even if he finishes minutes ahead, I should be good (depending on other race results). I’m feeling strong and start to increase the watts as we near the top and my partner starts to falter. At about the same time I notice Duckman2 crested with El Tractor. Not good. If the 2 of them work together, they’ll be really hard to catch. I also see that they’ve passed Chak who is now riding all alone. Do I try to reach Chak (super painful with no guarantee of success riding solo downhill)? Do I wait for SLudford? I decide to wait, since I know Ludford is strong and will be a great help going down. My thinking being that we’ll gobble up Chak and then hopefully stay “next in line” behind the El Tractor + Duckman2 – or maybe even catch. And that’s basically where the story ends. SLudford and I worked very well together and worked hard, getting within 500′ of Chak at one point, but we weren’t making up ground on the other duo. Besides that Duckman2 and El Tractor passed a couple of riders, so now there were even more “places” between my quarry and us. Oh well – SLudford and I had a great time riding together and giving it our best. My overall power numbers were solid, so I’m mostly satisfied with the effort – just a little disappointed that I still felt strong and not winded at the end and that maybe I should have gone 5W harder on the climb. Woulda, Coulda, Shoulda. Looking forward to next month and what looks like a very tough TT. Really hoping more of the A6 contenders can manage all 4 races. Rouvy1Byron, Mick_Michel, Bates1980, and of course SLudford are all tough! Plus, we’ve got newly promoted 4WorldPeace (who scored more points while in A7 then anyone in A6) and maybe even the possible returns of LinV and Klinthomie? No rest for the weary – or the demoted. Cheers!

    • Duckman2 says:

Super tough climb pacing. El Tractor is aptly named, no escaping without giving him an opportunity. We swapped leads all the way up and down and could see UncleE64 and ValRdz breathing down our necks all the way. I figured Chak might give them a 3 2 draft advantage and catch us on the long downhill, but we had a great descend going and pulled hard to the end where El Tractor nipped me at the finish when I waited to long to catch the draft pass. Great fun and a nifty run through the Gorse shrubs.

      • Eric H. (UncleE64) says:

You guys were incredible – really smart of you to go over the top with El_Tractor. I thought SLudford and I were doing a great descent, and I was pushing as hard as I could on every little bump, but we couldn’t make a dent in your lead. I knew you’d crush me on the climb, but you really surprised me with that descent. Great job! Tip for staying in A5 next month: Just like running away from a bear – you only need to be faster than one other, and I’m pretty sure we know who that is . Cheers!

    • Manuel Lamber SHARK says:

Sometimes I miss Cat 5, it seems to be more collaborative and interesting than the ones above… I’ll wait for you in A4 for at least another month friends 💪😉🦈

    • Neil Rushby says:

Great read and, yes looks like everyone paced the climb whist looking around to see where there rivals where! It so great to read. i was shocked at the lack of riders doing 4 races this month in A6 but we are going into summer now so A6 might just be that weird category where if you do 4 races, you are more than likely going to get auto promotion. A5 was the one with the most riders doing all 4 this month so lets see if its the same in May.

you will smash A6 though, your points this month would have given you a massive win in A6 so i do feel you are an A5 rider (or maybe A5.5 lol) but like you say above, Ste and Brian are both strong and also its gotta be time for “sunniva” to win A7 and get up to A6 as well, but overall the categories do seem to be working and give it a few more months and everyone will be pretty much where they should be. Have a great May.

    • Brian Westfall (4WorldPeace) says:

Love the read Eric! I can’t match you stronger riders power so my only hope is consistency and points. Or maybe just train a little harder lol!
