WHATS NEXT TO COME:

Remember you are more than welcome to come and race with us on any of our races even if the championships are of no interest to you. The more the merrier!! These championships are just here as extra motivation and fun ways to train.

Sunday Hill Climb (aka the Sunday hill climb championship)

Perth Hills Aveley-Gidgegannup [PTM12] |WA| Australia | 38 miles | 3,967 ft. elevation

Search “Muckers Sunday” in the event search function on ROUVY to find all the scheduled climbs we have created so far. All start times included in the championship.

Tuesday Race Night (aka the w/kg training championship)

The 2.8w/kg target!! We use:

Bowser | Vancouver Island | 14.88 miles | 440 ft. elevation

We also have a warm up race before the main race @ 18:30 and we use:

Douar Agdour | Morocco | 8.57 miles | 623 ft. elevation

Search “Muckers Tuesday” in the event search function on ROUVY to find all the scheduled races we have created so far at the 6 different start times. All start times included in the championship

Thursday Race Night

Because we have a 5th Thursday this month and the world championship month is 4 races only, Its time for the last HIIT race event of the year. We run a mini sprint event with 16 different race routes, from 16 different countries, in just over an hour. So you start the first one at 18:30 and the next race starts every 4 minutes. The faster you finish, the longer you get to recover as you make your won way to the start line of the next race! Its great fun so if you are free, come and have a go. The points system is based on your actual riding time over the 16 routes, so even if you think you are safe in a certain place, push push push over the line as those few seconds faster might mean all the difference at the very end!

Just Search “Muckers HIIT” and all 16 races will be there. Our tip is download them all well in advance, register AND save them to your favorites just for the night. Trust us that when you’ve just completed another all out sprint, you need all the help you can give yourself to make sure you load up the correct next race. This is why we start the race “title” with the race number so you see it on the tile straight away.

TO FINISH OFF:

So another Month is done. How did you do?? it’s getting busy now so good luck with the last 2 months as it’s gonna be a tough run in.

Well done to the top places. Nice to see 2 riders get top 10 for the first time this month, so, welcome to the Ballast club! It’s a rare club indeed! For those who miss the “mentions” from blogs of old, all the “top 3 in this race” riders are pretty much the “new” mentions. (wow, lots of speech marks in that last sentence!!)

The 2EARLY4ME race just isn’t working in 2026. so for the last 2 months of the year we have set it up to start 2 hours earlier. If this gets regular riders it will stay but if it’s still getting 0 to 2 riders a week, then it will be dropped for next year.

As my last test to see if anyone actually reads this all the way to the end, I’d like to propose a question. We are toying with the idea to make next years worlds a 2 month event rather than every single month. We’d stick to 8 races (4 each month) with Category promotion/relegation applied to riders with 7 and/or 8 races completed. We would then use 5 out of your best 6 duo-months for the worlds. I think it will address some issues that have cropped up this year, but i will really miss the promotion/relegation at the end of every month like we have now. I have grown to love the “re-set” every month. I really wanted to put this 2 month stage idea into this year, but NITEOR just couldn’t find a way to make it work, but with our in house way we do things, we can pretty much do anything (within reason). But now we’ve had nearly a full year of monthly cat changes, should we try it in 2027? If you do have any thoughts, just add them to the end of your normal comments as i know i might be over looking something and would rather get the obvious pointed out to me now, or general gut feelings from you all, because as you all know, once we set something up for the year, we really try and keep it going for the whole year. Nothing is set in stone yet so any and all thoughts would be welcome.

That is it me thinks… Thanks again to all that make this thing work and thanks for reading the blog, especially those who read to the very end. Appreciate it.

What a tough race. Really went full rocket at the start and thought I’d just got onto the main group but then i just run out of momentum and i’m dropped! Oh Crap! Not Sure the Pink Bike is fast anymore. Another smaller pack of 3 or 4 fly past and i can’t jump onto them, But then the next group catch me and i am full rocket again not to let them drop me!!

I honestly really struggled for the next 10 mins, constantly ending up in 46th (and last place) in our pack and really having to dig deep to stay on and get back into the middle of the pack> Then we hit a strange part with 2 yellow sections and the pack fractures but i am able to go with the 1st group and weirdly, now it’s getting easier. I don’t think I’ve suddenly got stronger, i just feel everyone’s calmed down a bit as its quite a long green stretch now to the “main” climb section that hits you about 3/4 of the way along.

I also notice after a while of dropping to the back of our pack (which is now 43rd) that we’ve actually dropped some of my normal rivals. How’s that for extra motivation to get as much draft as possible as I’m thinking once we hit that hill, i am doing the last 5 miles or so solo, so i need to get a gap!!

Got to the hill and i am trying to stay in close contact for as long as i can, but inevitably they are all pulling away…. but 1 isn’t so i do everything to stay with them so i’d have at least 1 rider to help get me hone! Thats when fellow Mucker Chorus ends up with us! I am really sorry but i can’t remember if you backed off to join/help us or you came from behind? I was head down using everything to stay with the rider up front (who’s name totally escapes me sorry).

We crest as a 3 and we soon catch others! WHAT!!?? We are now back to being a large group in no time and i can now see we have the potential for 36th down to 42nd so lets enjoy the run to the end as we ride the F1 track! I think i went a few seconds too early for the sprint but i was fine with anything as 42nd was gonna be an amazing result anyway, but i dig deep and come over the line in 39th place which ends up 41st after all the finish times have all been blended together.

felt dizzy, sick and very spent as i cooled down… but this was one of my best races of the year, so i will take that! Smashed A7 so another crack at A6 next month it is. 4world is coming down and i am so happy to say Uncle Eric is taking his place in A5 as i really don’t want him in my category at all lol. But when i go up, it always seems Sunniva comes back down so maybe we join each other in the same category in December? who knows, but no matter what category we are in, she and a very strong group of rivals are now forming to at least have some competitive races as we run up to the end of the year.

That was a fantastic race for you Neil! Crazy how easy it was to get dropped on those little yellows. Way too much solo riding for me to put up a good score in this race. We’ll see what happens in A6 next month, some great competition. I desperately need some bonus points. 3 months in A5 definitely didn’t help me in the championship standings.lol!

Crazy race. I set a goal to try and average 27 mph but, It’s a major stretch and the only way I knew I would even have a chance would be to stay in a draft the whole race. Well that didn’t happen. I managed to hang with the second group until that little yellow at around the 7-mile mark. I was having to work way too hard to just stay with them and my lungs were tighter than normal. Turned out to be a bad place to get dropped because the next group was about .3 miles behind. It was a good-sized group with some strong riders so I knew they would catch me, but I didn’t want to lose too much speed so I put on my TT hat and just kept pushing. I managed to hook up with Smolda which got us to the base of the climb before the group behind caught us. The group splintered on the climb but I managed to stay with the back group which had rouvy1bryon, Gunnera, and 5 other riders I think. I stayed close to the front since the finish was downhill and decided to lead out on the sprint with about .25 miles left. Pretty far from the line but I thought maybe it could work since it was downhill. Well, I finished 5th out of the 7 in the group but there was only a gap of 1 tenth between myself and the 3 riders ahead of me. I finished 55th with an average of 26.4 mph in the main race and 61st in the final standings. Not my best, but I gave it everything I had. Thanks to all that I rode with and see you in Nov!! As for the change of the championship you mentioned I’m game for anything new. It will make it harder to gain those bonus points if you get stuck in a category that is outside of your ability to be in the top 3. Maybe spread the bonus points over the top 4 positions.
