ROUVY Route Used: Cime de la Bonette from Lans | France | 8.75 miles | 3176ft climbing
Introduction:
Sorry again for the delay, was away when this happened so just catching up with this now I’m back. Also, I had a bit of a brain fart when sorting this race out a month ago as I’ve also scheduled this same route for the Sunday hill climb on the 11th of this month as well.🤦♂️ Noticed before I went away but we already have riders registered for the Sunday one so I thought I’d be able to message them and let them know but unfortunately that option has now been removed from ROUVY so I can’t. I would have messaged everyone who did this ride today to let you know that Sunday the 11th is a free pass to use as you wish, but I can’t do that either so I just hope you get to read this and see the mistake. 🤞🤞🤞
I’m having so many issues with server errors and not being able to sort things out as we also have another error I need to fix asap that I can’t due to the new system and my current server issue error, that it’s all just a bit bonkers at the moment. All the results are “kinda” in for this race day , as even this has an issue with the LATER-ON rider being shown as a completed time but at the bottom of the final standings table (rather than at the top) under the DNF and DNS. The time it self looks fine, and its not been given a disqualified classification, so I’m leaving it as its just another glitch and including it.
Also this is the 2nd month in a row where the first race, that I always set up as smart trainer only events, seems to have changed back to “all trainers”?? no idea why this is happening, and ROUVY are looking into it. It might be that the results screen indicated “all trainers” even though to have entered it, it had to be smart trainers, or somethings chaning it when it gets made an official race? The issue right now is I can’t get into the “Details” tab on any of my events to even re check or edit anything due to the “server issue” screen that just comes up, again, ROUVY are looking into this as well and I just can’t wait for it to be all settled.
Luckily none of this is ruining the racing, just my brain 😆, so lets get on with the results shall we…..
co-founder of muckersworldwide.com and race organizer! Been into cycling since a kid and spent most of the time on BMX and mountain bikes. Took me longer than most to get the road cycling bug but I was bitten around 5 years ago when I finally got a fully fledged road bike that fitted and I let the flat handled road bike go...
This was a fun climb for me. I was rested, felt strong, and holding 3.7/W/kg was not over-ambitious for a change. I was 12th/13th after a relatively easy start (because the climb started right away) then reeled folk in. Wasn’t until I caught Mads (Grochang) that I realized, hey, having a good day, and pushed on to catch FJX29. We were together for awhile, then I surged into the 4s on the last steep km and got ahead. Pleased with that!
Looking forward to join in on the Thursday fun this wall/winter when able – I am following a training plan (Kinteic Cycling Coach / Bulletproof Cycling Club) and when “Muckers” fit nicely into my TrainingPeaksweek I’ll certainly try to make the effort to challenge myself against you lot 😀
Sunday Social fit nicely though, as weekends are predominantly Z2
