Big turn out this morning for this Sunday race and 42 riders set off to see how they’d get on on this route.
We have an issue though and I’m in a bit of a dilemma about the winner. I flagged this rider to Rouvy last week when he won my Sunday race then as-well. His figures just seemed to good to be true. I actually asked him to check his set up as I feel its just a mistake on his part, and Rouvy came back saying he has a classic/dumb trainer and they will report this to the technical team so they can solve the issue. So I have no idea how long that takes and I really don’t want to have to select smart trainers only when I organize a race as I don’t want to exclude those on these trainers who have them set up properly.
You might think its not that important and you are half right, he’s only cheating himself at the end of the day, but if i organize a race you guys take the time to be a part of it, I think those of you who want to treat it as a race, hope its all on a level playing field. Its not in any way jealousy on my part as 29th to 28th place change isn’t exactly going to turn me into the next best rider out there is it.
So I’ve decided to exclude him from the results. If Rouvy can’t sort this out then unfortunately I will have to select “”smart trainers only” going forward, but I hope it doesn’t come to that (I actually should have done this “dilemma” as a separate blog shouldn’t I!)
With all that of my chest, who actually won!?? In my eyes (and hopefully the rest of you agree) “bismo” gets the win with a superb time of 1:01:19.8. He had a small gap back to the next three who looked to have had a sprint to decide the finishing order! “PatrykS_Gdynia_PL” won the sprint for 2nd, just in front of “teamojo” in 3rd and “stijn1” in 4th.
The next pack of riders came over the line in the 1 hour and 4 minutes bracket with “tigostar” claiming 5th, “mh122” 6th and “PRuivo” in 7th.
Seven riders came next in the 1 hour and 6 minutes bracket but as most of you know, i only mention the top 10 so well done to the following 3 riders! “czechangel” claimed 8th, “yayarecki” got 9th and “Massimo_Vighi” home in my 10th position!
lots of new names so thank you for joining the race today and any thoughts or comments please post them as i’d love to read them.
cheers

Finished 29th ( changed to 28th with the disqualification of the winner) and it was a tough race to even stay in the top 30! But what a nice route! I am really having issues with this loan Wattbike, but I plod on while I wait for my V2 to get fixed so I can select a proper/realist group set/gear ratio rather than this Wattbike standard set up that just doesn’t work!
Wow 27th now, great to see so many new riders, great fun as always, thanks for organising, hope you get your trainer fixed soon !
shouldn’t be too long now…
First off all, I want to thank you Neil, for organizing. As always it was great fun although this time it was super hard. As I am not the best sprinter I needed to attack early One hell of a ride as for quite a long time I couldn’t create a gap larger than 30-50 meters to Patryk, Teamojo and Stijn. Strong ride by all of them. Thanks you all. see you next time. Bismo.
Thanks for the comments and the very strong ride, again! Patryk has become a very welcome addition to the races and his reports on his Strava posts are brilliant, I just wish he would add them on here as well 😆 I’m not sure that Teamojo and Stijn have done that many races of mine,(sorry if they have, i just don’t recognize those names) but its great when you have competition in a race isn’t it! Thanks again for racing with us!
Although I was sawing zzzz while this race was going on, I enjoyed reading the results. I’m glad you got all that off your chest, Neil. We don’t want a grouchy, cynical reporter. We want you to keep up the good work. Hope you get your bike back soon.
Good job Bismo.
Thanks Chris, I’m definitely not grouchy or cynical in my writing ( or I hope not) , but the sarcasm definitely rears its ugly head sometimes! Its my natural defense mechanism 🙄 Shame your time zone doesn’t allow you to jump on these Sunday rides, can you not just stay up really really late??😀
I Do really enjoy the races and carrying out the reports so I can’t see that stopping pal but thanks for the kind words.
Bike is coming back end of this week so i can feel an improvement from 27th to 23rd coming very soon!!!
It was a really tough race for me. At the beginning of the race I tried to catch up with a strong group, but I coudn’t keep them as long as I planned. So I had to continue this agony alone.
I finished the race completely exhausted with my heart rate in space only seconds ahead of Neil and Jeff65.
CU next time!
This just shows how there’s always a story behind every avatar! I had no idea that Jeff and I were catching you up! I was more concerned that I didn’t want Andy_UP to catch me!
Thank you so much for commenting!
Thank you for this moment!
That was a very nice race!
See you next time
Belle course merci 🤩
