Thursdays are quickly becoming the rest night race night since we started doing the championship on Tuesdays! Just the single race using a challenge route and just going for it! And what a route to go for it on! A fast 2 mile downhill start then a lumpy route all the way home that just doesnt allow any rest, well, any rest after that start! I love this route and was glad when it popped up on this challenge.

looks like we had a 4 way battle for the podium tonight! 1st place went to the American power house that is “nelsonsnyder”, 2nd to the German rider “stefan793”, with Spaniard “Risckys_GURE” getting that place on the podium in front of Czech rider “Karel_sousek” who had to settle for 4th.

we then have a little gap back to 5th place which was claimed by French rider “stephane-martin” with Italian rider “orthostice” claiming 6th just 12 seconds later.

Top 6 riders from all different countries all around the world! bought together for the love of online racing on ROUVY!

3 riders next all battling for 7th , finishing with “pasjordi60” in 7th, “pavelfoltyn” in 8th and “jakimati” in 9th.

Last mention goes to “MatthiasHeil” which is really great from a personal stand point as this guy doesn’t get on my races very often, but he was one of the first rider “names” i remember when i first jumped on ROUVY and he was everywhere!! There’s a few, what shall we call them, old timers??, who jump on a Muckers race from time to time and its just really good to see those names in the finishing list so to get a top 10 as well, well, that’s just awesome.

Well done to you all for finishing this route and i really hope you enjoyed the race and got what you needed from it.

Davos on Sunday next!!! Plenty of rest needed in the meantime….

cheers everyone.

22nd tonight on a route i really like, beat my PB as well. Chat on the WhatsApp group looked like S.Ludford and myself had decided to go flat out at the beginning and see where we’d end up! We were in the top 5 all the way to the bottom of that first 2 mile downhill then we just carried on best we could. He did a lot better than me claiming 16th, where i was an extra 6 places down the road. but it was a good test, just to see if this approach was better than building up form the back.. still undecided though.πŸ™„ what I do know is I really like the challenge this route throws up and its just a fast and frantic 17 miles!

Nothing subtle about tonight’s plan, try to hit 1,000watts (nearly did it) and coast the first 2 miles at the Rouvy 44.9mph maximum. I hoped only a few riders would have this idea but the fast guys just won’t give you an inch, I hope they had a smile at these mad mid-pack riders blowing the doors off and having fun downhill. I then spent the next 2 miles letting people go that I knew were strong and trying to gauge whether I could work with some riders I was not familiar with, but even they pulled away while I was getting my HR back to crazy instead of bonkers. Then that was it, 12 miles solo Time Trial trying to keep 300watts on the rolling course to the end. Another 1.05 IF score, so I am still happy with the current form, I’ll enjoy it while it lasts.

The next opportunity i get to do a race and we have run out of challenges, I’m setting this one up again and we can put a bet on who gets to the bottom first! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

      • Steven Ludford says:

It was great fun, a lot harder than I expected, wrongly assumed it would just be the 2 of us at the bottom for a minute or two.

Really found the start of this one really hard was hoping by the end of the decent I would be in a group but it didn’t turn out thar way I was pretty much in no man’s land I had matthiashell about 150 metres ahead of me and another group of 3 about 250meters behind me and that is pretty much the way it stayed to the finish it made for a really hard race good hard route

  4. Andy_UP says:

This is a fun route. But it’s training night, not race night for me. Did 37km ride in zone 4 hr before this one, and did this one also in zone 4. Wanted to work with celesteguy but he kept letting me go and on an uphill he always cought me and then he seemed to attack. So I stopped waiting for him and solo ride to the finish. Enjoyed the scenery for once πŸ˜‰
After this ride I did yet another one, but halfway I broke my bike. It is uncetain I will be able to ride this weekend or next week πŸ™

oh what is kaputt Andy ? πŸ™
One of my 4 screws which hold the 2 chain rings at front has broken off. I orderd a new one via Internet. Before ordering, my local dealer in town told me yesterday, he cannot find these s*lly chain ring screws… I shall order them online. Haha. Said, done. 18 Euro for one screw (I only need one of the four) + 4 Euro postage *wow* https://r2-bike.com/SRAM-Kettenblattschrauben-2-fach-Force-Red-AXS But at least I can fix it quickly! That’s the most important isn’t it.

Currently it is too warm in my bike “TdF chamber”. It reminds me more of the London Dungeon at the moment, scary hot, a torture. πŸ˜‰
Instead of bothering me with the evening races in my private melting pot, I rode Naxos a little bit earlier, before the big heat came up and before my chain ring screws died… I apologize for that. At least, I held up the Mucker’s flag there!

My apologies. next time my heart will be with you again ( at HR 180 at least πŸ˜‰ )

I ‘ ll take it easy these days. Hope not to produce a pool under my bike at these temps.
      Ride safe, stay healthy

Ha! So, I’m an “old timer”? Well, I’ve been called worse, and as far as spending (too?) much time on rouvy is concerned, my wife would probably agree with that assessment.

    • Neil Rushby says:

lol, it was meant in a nice way i promise πŸ˜‚. Try Spending too much time on ROUVY and writing about ROUVY! The wife agrees with yours! Thanks again for jumping on the race!
