We have a Muckers Worldwide Team rider Win!!! But it was an early sprint that just did it for “Tuden” over “Gil.Mad.io” in 2nd and “Luca_ma” in 3rd. “BareRemi” is fast becoming a serious contender now with a strong race to 4th, just beating “karel_sousek” in 5th. No-mans-land for “alieno79” in 6th, then a race for 7th won by “hinsbergen” in 7th just in front of “ErlendSundstrom” in 8th.
The following riders all finished in the super strong 38 minute brackets with “Stefan_Schmidt” in 9th, “tomleriger” 10th, “stefan793” 11th, “lrollin” 12th, “Minyana_GURE” 13th and “nielsbrynnum” in 14th.
The 39 minute guys were next in the blink of an eye with “Grochang” in 15th, “m-forby” 16th, “s.p” in 17th and “DRAFT-MAN” in 18th.
So, who gets the last 2 Muckers Worldwide official placings mentions? Well its “CelestinaJ” with a nice run to 19th and “tranberg” 10 seconds clear in 20th!
What a quality top 20 and I hope you are all getting to know each other and who your closet rivals are! I know the temptation is always there to try and gain an unethical advantage but you will only be cheating yourself in the long run. This is training for when the sun finally comes out, but while we are here, lets have some fair and competitive fun, and lets get as strong as we can be so we smash those out door rides!
Muckers is all about Banter and Encouragement so well done to you all for having a go at this and staying with us. Please keep the comments coming as its always fantastic to hear how the race went from your perspective, and especially riders you had a great tussle with!
Please help us keep this Muckers thing going with a little purchase from the merch shop. loads of really good stuff on there and we’ve not had one complaint about anything sold so far so buy with confidence and the knowledge you are doing your bit to keep this going (And the wives off our backs as-well!! 😉)

Not my best race! Still not 100% recovered but i can’t miss a championship race! Not on your nelly!! Started well by being led into a false sense of security by a nice downhill gradient and plenty of drafting! “actually feel ok…. might finally get in the top 50 tonight” Then the downhill finished and i needed to put some effort it and… i had no effort. what was 40 something place very quickly became 60 something and i still hadn’t done the long up hill yet!! 😥
I see Mucker S.Ludford coming up behind and I’m hoping he can sense I’m struggling and as he caught, I latch on… or whatever you riders call it, and didn’t let him go! 170+bpms and struggling to even get to 2.8s never mind 3.0s but somehow we got to the end and fought off the challenge of rayzerbikes who just rode to the side of me on the climb at the very end, causing a panic sprint i really didn’t think i had!
somehow actually moved up a few places in the championship but its very close where i am to hopefully stay top 50! see you next week!
I watched the front of the main race. I saw World Tour sprinting (w/kg), 1 minute and 5 minute powers outputs that Uk domestic pros do. If you really are that good please be good enough to provide reference to similar real world performances. Some weigh in videos would be helpful too. Finally, please, please, please calibrate your trainers and do not use power meter pedals when you have an expensive trainer that auto-calibrates.
Hi Kevin, i can speak only for myself from the leaders group, im honest athlete. Ie. yesteday i had my monthly 5min max 364w which at 67 kg is 5,4wkg which is very good for amateur, but far from pro riders. Also i never sprinted over 10wkg, but im poor sprinter unfortunately. Feel free connect with me on Strava and see my other indoor, outdoor cycling / running activities throughout the year(s).
We are also looking for someone to travel around the world after every race to the top 10 to check for doping. Do you volunteer? We can not offer any pay as we don’t have any sponsors or don’t ask an entry fee in races. All the work the organisers do, they do for free in their spare time, next to a regular job and family. Keep it light, keep it fun for eveyone, it’s not all that serious.
Hi CerveloKevin, i feel you are just not happy with how we do things here mucker. Its a shame as you are clearly a fantastic rider, know your stuff, and very passionate about all of this being fair and equal. But like I’ve said to you before, we can’t do what you request/demand. Its just not for us. Other race organizers do the stuff you ask, so its not like there isn’t other options, but this comment section is all about having a say on how the race went from your perspective? or give some encouragement or a bit of banter. or answer a query. Its not for this type of negativity.
What you want sounds quite fair on paper, but you won’t be the one missing out on family time because someone has asked you to check everyone’s weight in videos? or recheck someone’s calibration video and does it still count if it was a month ago, or last week or whatever? it’ll be us, and we’ve made it perfectly clear we go with friendship and Heart rate data as our only regulations as its the quickest way to get through it. please note I said quickest, not quick! and have never said the best way. The championship blog and calculations is pretty much running into 4 hours now as it is so that’s more than enough time to spend on something most people have actually moved on from by the time it gets released.
We’d love for you to stick with us as the times you set in the 2EARL4ME races really help us see what a very strong time for the route is, but only if you can live with how we do things as most of all we just want people to be happy and enjoy the racing and experience of being a Mucker.
Since im an amateur and still beeing able to race against the best racers in the muckers comp, in some type off races 😅. I just want to tell you that the way the front group is racing is quite different to what the rest off the chasing groups are doing. In stages where im able to fight for a top five pudium you will find hills of 30-150hm. On these hills the front group is going around 400w. The race then splitts into many small groups and solo riders. From the top of the first hill no one want to pull. Then the front group slows down untlill entering the next hill. Then it repeats until all hills has been run and then the sprint for the finish awaits. Some of the riders manage to recover after each peak. Then a sprint on 10w/kg is possible. Just for a short time. Last week i did a 20 min ftp test and a few min after i did a short max watt test. You can search me up on strava Remi E Flått. The ftp test was 352 and max watt 1137 (around 16/5 w/kg).
Three races in three days, three running warm ups before, that is some load. Especially when this week’s Mucker’s races are ~20 min shorter than usually. All fine for one night lovers, but very challenging for endurance guys. Big group in the front established, thus quite easy to stay in the draft and wait who will attack first. No surprise it was Tuden, Luca, Gilmad mostly. First few bumps and group shrinked.
Main climb right in the middle of route, close your eyes, do what you can and take a look where you land on the horizon. This time i was in mini group with Tuden and Alieno, shortly behind Luca, Gilmad and Baremi. Since legs signaled cramps potentially coming i could not help much in front. Yet, we closed the gap to the escapees, rolling all towards big sprint finish. Slightly uphill ending, no more power left, 5th place. One more exciting race for every second, 5min @ 364w mas for last month, thank you all who joined!
Originally planned an easy ride tonight but some Muckers had another ride planned 50 minutes later so thought I would lend my (considerable) weight towards helping them finish in time. Started moderately, found a nice group and was happy taking turns, we caught up with the Muckers so I changed groups and changed focus. Actually turned into a great workout and I was happy with the numbers below. Enjoyed this one.
Race stats: Age : 56, Weight : 95kg, IF=0.944
Averages : 156bpm, 267w, 2.81w/kg
Tougher race than it appeared. Week with good training load and desire to play. Good start even if my directo adjusted a couple of minutes later 😥, great effort but I end up working below 40th position. I find my direct opponents but then I lose ground and I can’t understand why, if I look at the Strava activity data I have a higher average w but in the end this evening the result was losing 2 positions in the general. Except only for the final sprint where I managed to stay in front of 3/4 riders. Until next time
Same plan as Tuesday: settle into a mid-3 W/kg pace, no crazy start, see how it goes. It went well! Was in mid-60s after the start settled, but slowly moved up. Was able to do 4s and 5s on the big bump mid-way, that’s where I caught and passed MatthiasHeil, he of rocket start fame. Didn’t drift away from him all that quickly, but at least normal order was established. A nice group including friends Chorus, Andy_UP, Dok_PS, and others was about 200 m ahead most of the last half, but I couldn’t close. Caught and did some two-up with T1NS, but didn’t blow myself up in the final sprint. Best average power in a month, besting Tuesday by a couple watts. It’s a good trend, hopefully keep it going. See you next Tuesday!
Complex race… drafting didn’t work in the first minutes so I found myself to be in the 70th in the first downhill part… with the climbs to start, I pushed a lot. That went well. I was close to the 25th place but I had two riders to pass by at the sprint as I lost a few meters in the downhill section before. Glad for this result given this complex territory for me on my kickr… well done all and that’s to the Muckers for these events.
Wanted to say … thanks….
Hope you have seen that I bought the TickrFit for my arm so that you can see HR data … but I will only use this for your races.. I don’t need HR date in my bike marathons. I still like to hear into my body and my breathing… CU soon
totally understand and appreciate everything. Its the best way we could come up with to put some kind of checks in place to stop the blatant cheats from jumping on. The more cleverer cheats, well, that’s a whole other dilemma that i am just not wanting to get into. I just want us all to race, get fitter and ready for the outdoor season, and have fun!
But really appreciate the hr data as I really don’t like removing the riders I know are legit and not suppling data, but I have to as i apply the rule to everyone!
My first race back in the UK for a very long time. I was ill on Monday and couldn’t move, so the Bodmin Moor ride was out of the question—gutted. Thus, the Cairngorms became more of a “let’s see how I feel” ride than a race. Before the race, I had minor aches and pains, so I knew I wasn’t going to break into the top 50. We set off again, and there was another great turnout (100+ riders). I found myself in 95th place, realizing I needed to at least break into the 80s.
I couldn’t manage more than 3.0 W/KG on the uphills and maintained about 1.6 the rest of the time. I wasn’t bothered, though. The best thing about this route was that it reminded me of my local area where I ride outdoors. Now, I’m looking forward to spring so I can get out in the real world. See you on Sunday.
Happy recovery Kyle, Spring in my part of the world is a little later than in the UK but we are really starting to come close now – I cant wait either! Should be able to ride outdoors in the lowlands real soon , but the higher ground / low sunlight areas may need a good month or so to safely thaw out….
Race plan was to try to stay as long as possible in the front group 🥵 insane pace right from the beginning, but I got in the front group where I was consistently sourcing for a draft wheel to claim down my 170 bpm 😅 But as my legs convinced me to lower the pace, l got dropped. At that point, I had both of my 2 super 🇩🇰 competitions in the GC (Grochang 💪🏻 and Tranberg 💪🏻) behind but I could see Grochang 💪🏻 was closing the gap. My legs were in pain and I couldn’t get my eyes of the upcoming red section so as Grochang closed the gap I told him I was done 🥵🥵 for today. However I forced my legs to stay in Grochang wheel and coming into the climb I felt better and I managed to open a small gap to Grochang who got company by m-forby 💪🏻🇩🇰 At the top I was together with Minyana_Gure who clearly was not that interested in taking pulls 😉 I eased of the pace and shortly after we got accompanied by Grochang, m-forby and s.p. I told Grochang that I was going for the sprint at the 500 m mark but already with 1 km to go m-forby pushed hard 🚴🏻♂️💨💨 I passed m-forby around the 600 m mark with Minyana and Grochang right behind me, so from that point I don’t remember much except seeing Minyana passing me 😅 Thanks a great race and thanks to the organisers 👏🏻👏🏻
Sejt Niels, å holde ut når alle metrics blinker rødt😅
Hope to be able to push into the “danish group” a little more, currently working on my absolute power base and will follow up getting into race weight by April/May when I turn 50.
Only one Thursday race for me this month due to calendar conflicts but will be back for more first week in March! (Tuesday/Sundays I´ll join whenever I´m able)
Godspeed for the Feb. Championship Niels, and rest of the Muckers regulars 😀
You’ll be more than welcome in the 🇩🇰 group 👍🏻 We surely need some power engines 💪🏻💪🏻 like you to close the gap to the front pack 😅
Grochang:
Crazy fast start, managed to stay with the front group for 5 km and every little boom made my legs burn. I fell back, and a nice and steady group were formed with m-forby, Nielsbrynnum, S.P. and Minyana_GURE. Soon a Danish trio train were formed, pushing hard to keep the next group in a safe distance. At 4K to the finish line we had grounded enough distance to focus on building strong powers for the finally sprint. m-forby made the first move about 8-700m, S.P. couldn’t keep up and Minyana_GURE, Nielsbrynnum and myself were quickly reeling m-forby in, and continued to go for the loooong and false descent🥵 I had the pleasure to see Nielsbrynnum and Minyana_GURE fight for a foto shoot.
See all Muckers and non Muckers very soon😉

Since the first part of the race was slightly downhill i hoped for a easy pace into the first hill. I was wrong, as many others has commented the pace was insanely fast. I made s small mistake in the last downhill before the first climb and where forced to go 7-8 w/kg for a few hundred meters to catch the front. I manage to stick with the front in the first climb and om the secound climb i decided to just go all in to follow gil mad and alenio as i touhgt would be the strongest riders uphill. Alieno seemed to have a tough day and fell down to group no. two with Karel and Tuden. Luca was strong and was pulling hard along side gil mad with me just hanging on. In the last 1/3 there was no commitment to the pulling. After a few km the chasing group with Tuden as the strongest had catched us. Alieno lost out on the last small hill and the sprint for the victory would come down to the 5 of us. I decided to wait for it to the last 200m, but Tuden was long gone. This is the fastest rouvy race iv ever have raced in.
it was superb and a great watch! did you see the video of it on Collins YouTube channel “inside cycling world” ?
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 super video !
