Well done to Muckers Worldwide team rider “Tuden” for a super close finish to beat “Carlo-Calcagni_INVICTUS-G” for the fight for first! “Alieno79” got the sprint win for 3rd over “BareRemi” in 4th, closely followed by “breers33” in a nice 5th place.

“Sefan793” gets a rare win over fellow German “Stefan_Schmidt” for 6th and 7th, with the regular powerhouses “karel_sousek”, “nielsbrynnum” and “lroillin” finishing out the rest of the top 10.

co-founder of muckersworldwide.com and race organizer! Been into cycling since a kid and spent most of the time on BMX and mountain bikes. Took me longer than most to get the road cycling bug but I was bitten around 5 years ago when I finally got a fully fledged road bike that fitted and I let the flat handled road bike go...

Decided to start and climb the long hill at 3w/kg. Had to go a little harder to bridge up to Squalo delle Alpi and then hoped he would continue at the same steady pace, which he did and together we rode our way up to FlyingPastor before the long downhill. I was now in faster company than usual but there were no more hills for me to struggle on and I started to believe I could stick with them to the end. PS83 dropped back to us and we became a four man group, now trying to conserve energy for the final sprint. It was a long sprint, not 1000w for a few seconds, but about 500w for a minute, so it was a battle of attrition waiting to see who ‘gave up’ first. I was doubled up over my handlebars for a few minutes after this one.
    Race stats: Age : 57, Weight : 95kg, IF=1.016
    Averages : 157bpm, 283w, 2.98w/kg.

Recovery race. I know it sounds strange, but it is how it is, if you race shortly after all day outďoor ride. Hard 10min climb right after start. I could stay with leaders for first half of the climb, then had to give up. Waited for two Stefan’s and continued together. We worked nicely and our gap to the leading group did not grow much, while we kept distanced behind us llrollin and Niels. When we reached finish, i left too heavy gears and got distanced, but it would end up same anyway. Very good and fun race, thank you all who joined!

absolutely no idea what to expect here. been off work sick for 2 days prior and this was after my first day back in and i was tired. But it is championship day so lets see what happens!! Short route with all the climbing at the start so paced the climb and was soon in a nice bunch of around 5 riders all climbing at about the same power. This is exactly what i love about this profile of race. The long climb at the beginning can’t help but put you into or around riders of the same power, strength and speed, so as long as you go over the top together and in the draft, its gonna be a great race to the finish!

And that’s exactly what it was, spent most of the time with robin as we caught others up and dropped some, but at the very end it was down to 4 of us for the sprint for 29th! you could see it was an uphill finish so it was all about waiting for the right time to go! robin went first but way too early… or so i hoped… and i was shouting at the other 2 to start increasing the pace and eventually they did! We close in on robin, drop David and just as jerome starts to pass robyn, i launch my attack, pass them both, get a nice gap, let off thinking i’ve done it, only for jerome to attack again and I had to go ALLLL out to hold him off! We finish on an identical time but i wonder if he was at 181bpms and having to produce a new 1 minute power record to do it like i had to!! took an age to recover but was well worth it!!

Little bit of flat then a hill to climb, but my front shifter jams! Seriously considered trying to do the climb on my big ring, but no, off the bike, muscling the lever, *finally* got it back into position, and it worked. Now I’m 47th and last, but the adrenaline surge sends me up the hill at a pretty good rate. Thanks to S.Ludford and Squalo_delle_Alpi for a bit of draft and a rest near the top, and FlyingPastor too, and I get into 22nd at the top. Don’t catch anyone else, but my Strava chart shows fixing the shifter cost me 2 minutes and 45 seconds, and MattiasHeil and his group were only 2 minutes and 23 seconds ahead of me. Just saying!

  5. Manuel Lamber SHARK says:

Hard route, not one of my favorites with long climbs… but I also see some nice descents and so I start off determined but not hard. At a certain point I see the Legendary Mike, I think he is waiting for me, but then I see 0w and now I read why 🤣. I already know that when he starts again he will pass me like a charging bull 😉. I find myself with Big Loudford, I’m happy because I imagine him like me… someone who never gives up, before his last trips I remember that he changed his strategy, he pulls up the climbs and relaxes in the draw of the descents (he’s a magician of the descents), then I attach myself to the wheel to also hold on to 1 or 2w for free 😉, we work well together, when the descents and the flat zones begin I return the favor to keep us at a good average. FlyingPastor also joins us but I was hoping for some more helpful pitches, I don’t want the group behind us to catch up on us… we get to the final sprint, with a climb, I work well but I don’t want to overdo it, he starts the 4-way sprint, Steven seems to hold but doesn’t relaunch, I slow down and then shoot the last 100 meters again because the last few times I lost in the photo finish, I finish in front 💪.
Thanks for the teamwork, greetings to everyone 👋
