Monday?? Yes, I had to schedule a Monday Race this week due to the Tuesday being Valentines day…awwwww. I know, but if we are all to be honest, we weren’t really going to get a great deal of racers on this night of romance. Was we??
So, to the report (which I’m actually doing on the 14th 🤫) and if like me you did the elevation race on the Monday, Another 3000 ft hill climb didn’t really seem fair did it! But 16 of us were at the start line ready to either race up this climb or at least try to finish it to complete the Rouvy challenge.
1st over the line was “luiscarralero” with a superb time of 52 minutes and 42 seconds. The Spaniard is Not a regular on a Muckers race, so might just have something to do with the change to my usual days. But a great result and hopefully they will jump on another race with us again. 53 seconds later, a very regular and very strong rider “PatrykS_Gdynia_PL” coming over the line in 2nd, with “Tuden” coming over the line just 60 seconds later. This top 3 all finishing the climb in well under 60 minutes. Superb climbing!
4th was “feelslikemonday” making it 2 Spaniards in the top 4, closely followed but muckerworldwide rider “DonJulio” getting the team a superb 5th place. Glad to see him back and with a strong ride! 6th was “rouvy1bryon” who is now becoming quite a regular visitor to the top 10 in my races, with fellow Canadian, and, muckerworldwide rider, “Chak” just 17 seconds behind in 7th.
The third muckersworldwide rider in the top 10, “Shrek-1970-Challenger” popped over the line in 8th, afterwards reporting getting stuck in that no mans land of not catching the rider in front but not getting caught from behind either! Shame that as he does like to have company and loves a good sprint finish! “Rogerstrainer” had a strong climb to 9th (I do wonder if its meant to say Roger Strainer , or Rogers Trainer?) then “mgk1971” paced his effort so well that he came over the top of climb strongly to overtake 2 riders and claim 10th place over the line! Quality climbing.
As per usual, please leave us a comment and let us know how the race was for yourselves. Its always good to read your perspective.

My Rouvy name was meant to be Rogers trainer , your not the first person to mention to me (strainer) 😜.
The first group I was with were to strong for me to stay with so when I caught up with Bartel76 I decided to stay with him for the first climb till I saw you Neil catching up tussled to and fro for position for a while and got some distance between us on the decent. Bartel76 nearly caught up with me at the beginning of the final climb, however he didn’t seem to have the power to keep up.
Great race
It was a tough climb, when i got the photo of us all together i was blowing, yet adampel was taking it easy with a dodgy ankle according to his strava post 😥. I’m also unsure if i was generally doing ok or if my Wattbike had decided to glitch again so I decided to not push for top 10 just incase i took away a position unfairly. luckily its going back to Wattbike on Thursday and I’m getting a loan bike off them so if I get set up in time, i should have a better answer from then! cheers for the comment and the support. its much appreciated.
Have not been “Mucking” for a while, but it was great to be back racing with you guys. Very strong group of riders, and the two in front were just to strong for me. But great training and great fun 👍 Love this route, so lets do this again😉
nice one Henrik! if this comes up on a challenge again then it’ll be scheduled!
Oh, man!!! I got to keep up with “Chak”!!! That Poutine Power Steam Engine is got some deep horsepower!!! YES, Sherk loves a SPRINT and he would be Happy to Lead someone out for the win…Call it the Vintage SATURN V to the Moon! Maybe we can Break that Rouvy 44.7mph barrier…Just LIke Chuck (Glamorous Glennis)!!!
if you keep up with Chak, you know you are doing well!! great effort and time Sean.
100 m after the start, all your avatar riders stopped and pedaling in place. I had a comfortable lead of about 12 km. Then out of nothing the 1 st ride warped into the finish, then the second and so on. It is nice to read, that at least you saw me overtaking at the second climb.😉
just goes to show that no matter how your screen might freeze up and glitch, to others you are still riding really nice and smoothly. you did really well!
