It came to our attention this week that we need to remind you all that if you do an earlier version of the race that’s gonna be the time you set. So if you then get the chance to do a later version and set a faster time, that time won’t count if you’ve already completed an earlier race. Its always been this way, its just something we wanted to remind you about.
Talking of reminders, yes, another heart rate reminder! this is the last race so the top 50 after todays results have all been added to the monthly championship will get data checked from the last race they completed. If we see anything wrong, no world championship points will be awarded.
ROUVT ROUTE USED:
Challenge Kaiserwinkl-Walchsee | Austria 42km | 26.33 mi | 1,969 ft
EXTRA TIME SLOTS REPORT:
Classic, but tough route tonight and from a challenge that’s been going for a while now so lets see who held off doing this route to do it with us! The 2LATE4ME race had 3 on the start line but only 2 finishers so we only give the winner “C.Benn” a mention! No one finished the 2EARLY4ME version but 7 riders started AND finished the RISE&RIDE version with “ManuRuiz” getting the gold, “EddyDomino” the Silver and “jaromirb” getting the Bronze.
10 on the start line for the EARLY-ON version, 7 finishers with a top 3 of “Hans.Holm.Moeller” in Gold, “Giuli1973Cles” in Silver and “Donglin_Lu” getting the Bronze. The LATER-ON race had 2 riders finish so well done to “RJL1925” for getting the final mention in the extra time slots report!
MAIN RACE REPORT:
142 Registered for this last round so it looked like those on this version were gonna set some decent times as the draft would really help you along here. Top 3 didn’t cross the line together tonight with “Alieno79” getting the win with “Gil.Mad.io” in 2nd and “BareRemi” getting the Bronze. A battle for 4th between 4 riders ended up: “przemokrk” in 4th, “FlyingSkywalker” in 5th, “JJRobinson” in 6th and “lrollin” in 7th. Totally on his own in 8th came “karel_sousek” as was 9th place “IvanSagan86” who had “Stefan_Schmidt” 4 seconds later in 10th.
“TijsV” solos over the line in 11th place, but a battle for 12th is won by “Brampaulussen” just in front of “pontiak”. 14th comes top places Muckers worldwide team rider “Svard” with another Mucker “Grochang” in 15th place. Well done guys!!!
4 riders all crossing the line alone next with “Stefan793” in 16th, “macko” in 17th place, “m-forby” in 18th and “alanshann” in 19th.
Finally a sprint for 20th place and it was won by Mucker “MikeHagen” ! Well done Mucker!
68 riders finished this race which is really food for such a long race! Well done to you all and i hope you enjoyed the race!
FULL RACE RESULTS FROM ALL THE START TIMES (THANKS TO NITEOR)
Well done “przemokrk” on a superb October! a nice 50 points to your world championship tally but you now have an extra 1.5% of ballast going forward! “FlyingSkywalker” gets into the top 3 for the first time and now gets 1.0% of ballast for coming 2nd, and another newcomer to the top 3 “JJRobinson” gets bronze/48 points, but 0.5% ballast as well.
Thank you to the 48 riders who supplied Hr data in the last race they did with us. We were expecting more but to see just 2 riders that didn’t comply to the Muckers rules, is a great testament to how you guys want to try and keep this racing as fair and as transparent as possible. Thank you.
please see the world championship blog on the website to see how these points have affected things.
co-founder of muckersworldwide.com and race organizer! Been into cycling since a kid and spent most of the time on BMX and mountain bikes. Took me longer than most to get the road cycling bug but I was bitten around 5 years ago when I finally got a fully fledged road bike that fitted and I let the flat handled road bike go...
Legs a bit dead warming up, wasn’t sure I’d be up to a hard effort. But it’s a course I like, longer, and it suits me, and in the end the legs were fine. Fast start and got with the leaders, but they got away. No matter; worked with some others, we caught some riders, made a bigger group, and rolled up some more. Realized I felt strong about mid-way, 20 km in, on the Kranzach Climb, so I did a surge and actually thought I’d gotten away from the group. But Ulrich-Nem bridged up and brought the group with him. Even so, that was encouraging, so I tried it again on the Wallchsee Climb. Huge effort from Rens_Piccavet to hold my wheel, but at the top it was paul_pudel and I who had the gap and increased it on the downhill. After that, Paul and I knocked each other about a bit, did some cat-and-mouse, and set up for the sprint. 200 m to go, I luckily glanced at the Nearby List just as Paul started his sprint, I jumped and got his wheel as he passed, and did a slingshot by to pip him at the line. Couldn’t’ve worked out better if I’d planned it!
The jaw is sensitive after tooth extraction, so i did not know how to approach today race. Small hint provided running earlier today, which was slower than usually, meaning i can not expect same performance like when healthy. Long route with several short ups and downs. Shortly after start we formed leading group of twenty, then reduced to eleven twelve. The hardest part came in the middle, where Gilmad decided to close gap to Alieno and Baremi.
That splitted our group further and we stayed eight. One more uphill section and this time end of game for me as pace od guys led by Premek and James was too much. I end up between two groups so i focused to not get caught by Ivan and Stefan. Tough and honest racing, i just wish next time i will feel more competitive. Thank you all who joined!
My Winter season started this week. Most of the riders are still in great shape. What a speed from the very beginning. I tried my best in this race, but it’s difficult when you should ride a bit more controlled after a 6 week relaxing modus to recover. I always found a great group with lots of Muckers but I could not hold all wheels at the slight downhill sections in the beginning. The climb at the end helped to win a few positions back. So November will be tough for me but I expect that I will be at the start line for all 4 races to collect some points. There are new goals for 2025 and I have to be patient with my performance which should be better again as from January.
Great work everyone! And thanks for a lot of drafting 😉
