Extremely fast bunch of riders tonight who just powered along this false flat into climb route! Another win for Muckers “Tuden”, but only just in front of a very close race for the next few spots with “Stefan_Schmidt” getting 2nd, “Karol-ESZ” 3rd and “Karel_sousek” 4th. Then it looks like the climb gradually burned out one victim after the other as the rest of the top 10 come over the line solo and more than a second between each other. But what a great group of names! We have “Pfeffer” in 5th, “hinsbergen” in 6th, 7th goes to “HelmSyerforest”, 8th to “BartVandenBrande”, 9th to “DonMatteo_07” and final mention goes to Muckers Worldwide Team rider “nielsbrynnum” who finishes just over 1 minute behind 1st.
So how did the race go for yourselves? would love to know so please let us know in the comments. Well done to all that finished, all that jumped in the other time slots (really nice to see a great turn out for the 2LATE4ME race) and all of you that keep coming back to race with us time and again. You only need that 1 other person around your level and you have a race on your hands so the more that keep turning up, the more chance you have to find that scenario!
Thanks again and hopefully see you on Thursday for championship day.

Nice route but also hard in the final, every time I find a long hill, with my 9V bicycle is always difficult. In the start a well and big work group, and work very well with Regina, DuckMan2, vargapeter, Hannibal-FBE, Stephen_bellio and also yayarecki and many others. After second kicker the group is divided and I try to hold over 3.2/3.5 w/kg but I lost one position in the last 200 mt. Good effort for a 26 position.
Cough and rhyme since weekend, main concern was if i will get up to the work in the morning. During day started feeling a bit better, tried slow running to test how body will respond. Was ok, so lets make it or break it in the race. Flat beginning with draft climb at the end. Not much happened till then and top10 stayed safely together. At one point i lost attention for a sec and had a bit trouble to erase 15m gap.
Once we reached climb i went to the front, thinking that only few of us will stay. Riding there for first 2-3min, then Tuden went in the front, alongside with Stefan and Karol. With 500m to go small gaps emerged, Tuden without question, but the battle between the rest of us was open. Finished out of the podium, which i don’t like ofcourse, but given my state in the morning it is very good result. Also best 5min power, so what? Thank you all who joined!
Chill-out Tuesday is hard for me to do for some reason, so no surprise I found myself in the lead pack of 14. Feeling comfortable when we hit the inconsequential (I thought) bump at 8 km I was still shat off the back when the pack surged. WTF? Not the first time that’s happened; I clearly have to rethink my timing. But adampel was there, he’d had software issues distracting him at the wrong time, so we cruised along together for a bit. Picked up SillySilNL who’d been dropped later than me, as she gleefully pointed out. We got separated on the last 2 km climb, and m-forby came by then. I thought of putting in the effort to beat him a second race in a row, but that would be like poking a bear with a stick. No. I’m not stupid. See you Thursday!
I’m writing this on a Thursday morning, full of a cold and coughing my guts up. Tuesday’s race was the start of my cold, that’s why I wasn’t on top form. My aim was to stay with Mucker1974’s group, but I never saw him until the very last climb. I settled into a group with Jeff65 and we kept a decent pace. On the last climb, I saw Mucker1974 and decided I had to overtake him, so I gave it everything. I was dying, but my pride won out. I got him.
Back to today, Thursday, Championship day. No racing for me, sorry. I need to get over this cold. See you all on Father’s Day, hopefully.
All I know is for 60+ Mike Hagen is rapido! I’ll take whatever training plan and/or diet your on if it would be helpful. That being said I see that the groupettos I’ve been riding with are getting bigger and faster as folks are working together in a bit more cohesive fashion to lead out and roll back.
Hey, Duckman! Do you really want to know? I did almost 30,000 km in 2021, then PowerWatts HIIT training for the first few months of 2022. I’m not in the same shape now, but that really worked. But you make a good point: Muckers folk are getting stronger and faster and more skillful all the time. Groups are getting bigger. Muckers races are really competitive all the way down. Knowing the people you race against, their tendencies, strengths, and weaknesses, really enhances the races. It’s really great.
more and more people are catching on that its best to try and stick to a group than ride solo! The powers that people are producing off the line now just to try and get up and over 20mph and in a fast pack is amazing but once you are in it, you start to motor along at quite a rate and just do everything not to get dropped! So if you’re a light and super strong rider like Mucker Mike, its perfect as you can still exploit your advantages, but from a position of “draft”. where as those heavier and erm “rubbisher” riders like myself are just trying to hang on for as long as possible with that constant battle going on mentally: ” just let them go!!!, NOOOO hang on another 2 mins, nope! I’ve had enough, i’m backing off, DON’T YOU DARE!! 1 more hill!! stay with them!!!!! 😂
