MUCKERS WORLDWIDE 2024 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP.
52 RACES OVER 12 MONTHS TO SEE WHO IS THE 1ST EVER MUCKERS WORLD CHAMPION:
Well we are finally here at the end of this epic year of racing! What was set up as a fun way to try and keep everyone engaged with doing the challenge routes on ROUVY, soon came to be the one of the biggest race series on the platform.
We had arranged the monthly championships and whoever got enough points over the month to be in the top 50 positions, well, they just got a nice and simple 50-1 points structure and entered onto a simple google sheet for what we called the “world championship” At first we thought nothing more of it, just a nice way to just keep everything alive for the year and not just end abruptly at the end of every month, but it soon became apparent this was getting very popular, especially once the 2nd and 3rd months were added up and people saw this extra motivation.
This is when we reached out to ROUVY to see if they would maybe be interested in supplying us with a prize or 2? They came through (and then some!) with some amazing prizes but we agreed together that we would just wait a while before announcing them as not to attract the wrong attention and not put any more pressure on those that are turning up week after week and racing with us just for the joy of racing and supporting us.
So we got through the quieter summer where we really considered releasing the prizes , but it was just too soon (yes we just about held our nerve!) but when the August results were finally in, we did report then that we’d hit the milestone that if someone jumped in and won the last 4 races outright and the rest of the top 10 didn’t score a thing, they’d still only get to 200 points, and the 10th place rider had now hit 201 points. It was now time to let people know about the prizes, and just in time for those riders coming back from the outdoor season as well.
When we did the September report in the world championship blog, we gave the full run down of the prizes on offer and then it was a last 3 months of pure competition which did not disappoint!
LETS DO A TOP 10 MENTIONS SHALL WE:
Well done to Stefan_Schmidt!!!!! 10th after the first round, joint 6th after the second, 5th in March, into the top 3 in April, 2nd in May, then top of the tree in June and never let top spot go for the rest of the year!! Lrollin you just get to hold onto your 2nd place due to your two 49 point scores in June and July! But what a try by karel_sousek to close these 2 down in the last few months. What a top 3! well done indeed.
BareRemi jumps up to 4th and its a question of what might have been if he’s not had those 2 no shows but when he was here, he smashed it and was carrying the most ballast! Top Muckers Worldwide Team rider MikeHagen is next and is consistency personified! never once actually in the top 3 positions in any month, so never had to race with any ballast, gets him 5th overall. might be a good tactic for next year, but unfortunately your reward is ballast for the start of next year as this top 10 will start with the new ballast points system right away (as well as the prize listed below the Table!)
Both m-forby in an excellent 6th and the next Muckers Team rider nielsbrynnum in 7th followed the same path as Mike by not getting into the top 3 placings but consistently scored every month. Then late-comer (he didn’t score in the first three rounds) DomMatteo_07 gets 8th, with 2 more Muckers Worldwide Team riders next with RaTim getting 9th (no score in Jan) and Grochang getting 10th (no score in June)
11th to 50th places please scroll down past the table as you all get something that we hope you use.
Remember, all 179 of these riders actually got into the top 50 placings in a Muckers Monthly championship! All you riders listed below are the cream of Muckers Racing!
We just want to end with a massive thank you to you all for taking part. It turned into a monster of an event but we think we just about kept it on the right path, and we reckon it was worth it in the long run and we hope you look back on it and realize just what you did this year!
FINAL WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP RESULTS TABLE:
*If you finished on the same points, you get positioned in whoever got the highest points in a single month i.e if your best was a 48 and the other persons best was a 46, then the rider who got the highest single month position, is placed higher. If both riders got the max at 50, It’ll then be whoever got the most 50s, and if that’s the same, then whoever got the the most 49s and so on. This is usually the best way to do these things when you want a final outcome and not a draw*

HOW TO CLAIM YOUR PRIZES:
please email us at info@muckersworldwide.com with your user name and an email address to send the vouchers codes to. you have till the end of January 2025 to claim them off us then we move on to the new championship.

it was a tough season, I think I missed maybe one race or almost, holidays calculated to return to racing, until autumn I was in the top 10, but I knew it would be It’s hard to hold this position, also because the level and number of participants exploded after the summer. I take a sweaty 16th place and fight with sharp teeth. Thanks to all my adventure companions, but remember that the Shark will attack again next season… I love you and W Muckers β€οΈ
And here we are at the end of this very, very long championship. 52 races, all incredibly intense. From the very beginning, I told myself I could try to complete all the races. I managed to stick to that goal, though not without difficultyβ2 disqualifications due to technical issues, quite a few freezes at the start, and highs and lows in form. There were good months, like June and July, but also bad ones, like March/April and November/December. In March, I nearly gave up due to health problems, and the same happened in November. But I always gritted my teeth to complete this challenge in its entirety. I havenβt counted precisely, but it must total about 1,500 km of racing (almost half a Tour de France).
As the weeks went by, Thursdays became more and more stressful. The same worries came back every week: would I be in good form on race day? Would there be no internet outages or Rouvy connection losses, and so on?
A huge thank you to my partner (Aurialie on Rouvy) for supporting and encouraging me all the time, especially during moments of doubt.
Big congratulations to Stefan, who is truly relentless and very determined. Kudos also to Karel, who is an exceptional athlete and competitor. Well done to all the pros (BareRemi, gil.mad.io, Alieno79, breers33, ErlendSundsrom, Tuden, przemokrk, hinsbergen…) who all deserve the podium, as they are incredibly strong. Congratulations to SillySilNL, the first woman, who finished 17th overall. And also a shoutout to the friendly Danes nielsbrynnum, Grochang, and m-forby.
And of course, bravo to everyone who participated in this championship.
Unfortunately, Iβm not sure Iβll do another year in 2025. This championship is exhausting over time, and I donβt think Iβll put myself under that kind of pressure again.
Congratulation, Laurent. I’m totally amazed that after 52 weeks and 1500 km you and Karel ended up in what is essentially a photo finish.
Thanks Laurent
I have really been amused and honoured for your, French-style dry sense of humor, comments on Strava – let me hear from you next yearπ€
Hereβs a thought – How about just doing one Muckers race a month and screw the points. It would be fun trying to catch up with you π
Best regards
Mads
Huge congratulations Laurent on your 2nd place πͺπ₯³!! And thank you for mentioning me βΊοΈπ. I totally understand your thoughts about 2025. I feel the same way (on my level π). I decided not to focus on the points for next year, since itβs frustrating to see the effect of not being able to participate in 1 race in a month. I also think the effect on my private life and work life was too much. So I will only look at the result in the individual races I will join. And maybe you can ask Aurialie to join the Muckers races if she doesnβt need to support you that much? You know I would love to see more women in the races π. So hopefully weβll see you both in (some of) the races in 2025π
Well done on your 2nd place. But definitely think about treating them differently next year if you do join us. Sounds like its a bit stressful up there at the top! But like Mads suggested, why not just do one a month, or if you are actually interested in the challenges, just join the race and maybe set yourself a zone 4 heart rate challenge for the races? see if you can still get top 50 at the end of the month, but don’t go into zone 5 hear rate? Or would that end up stressing you out again? It’s hard to know what to suggest, so YOU need to work out how YOU can handle it best
But we do want to thank you for joining us for the last year and hope you work out what to do going forward.
Huge kudos to Neil Rushby for manhandling this thing through an entire year. It was a massive amount of work; I’m almost sure most of us don’t realize how much! I didn’t intend to ride all 52 Thursdays but it proved to be too compelling for an obsessed person like myself. So, declining other invitations for Thursdays because there’s a trainer ride, taking my trainer on vacation, and I only missed the second February race. But it was hard. Running on fumes in December, and dragging across the last finish line. But also it was great. I think the best thing is that as I run my eye down the list of finishers almost every name I see is familiar, I’ve had interactions with many, and a lot have become what I consider good friends. So take a bow, Neil, and many thanks.
Yes Grizzly π¨π¦, good wordsβ¦ compliments for yours result π
Well done, Mike!
Incredible effort Mike πͺ. 5th place, wow π€©π₯³
Massive result! Thanks for acting as a carrot (though usually only in my head) and for showing the (Mucker) world that the 60+ category is a force to be reckoned with. I’ll join you next year and will try my best to keep up those standards — though almost certainly not to the extent that you’ve done it!
Thanks Mike and really impressive effort Mucker.
Congrats to everyone and to the Top 10 riders. Impressive work and availability for the races. Glad that a German from my Frankfurt home region won! But also well done to the Danish cycling friends. All very strong and competitiveβ¦ all over the year. What a performanceβ¦ do you guys donβt need some recovery months π
Iβm quite happy with my 36th position with four months of no points due to outside cycling and, unfortunately, I missed more Thursday main races than Tuesdays (my favourite Mucker race time from the very beginning when I think the main races have been on Tuesdays). Mucker races are the best. One wish from my side: keep the rules, kept everything simple + maintain the 7:05 start time for the main races. Everyone got used to it, right? I donβt think that many start time options are the better solutions.
I will purchase a shirt with my win π β¦
Happy New Year to everyone. You are a great community and I love to cycle with you all. Patrick
Thanks for the comment Patrick. We are keeping the 7:05 time for Tuesdays for a few months while we can compare the two start times, but we actually want the championship to not be too “one race heavy” next year. It was great to be one of the biggest race organizers, but it is a double edge sword when you are trying to blend everyone’s times together, only for those in the 7:05 race with the massive draft getting all the top places. Just experimenting with this option to make it more inclusive, worldwide.
Well done on 36th and see you next year
Hey Nei and Kyle – One and a half year with your guysπ€© Seems like yesterday I hooked up with the Muckers, you have really made a great virtual social worldwide network here on ROUVY – see you next yearπ€ Thanks for the 10th prizes run down and hey manβ¦ that was a close one TomΓ‘Ε‘ HlouΕ‘ek (RaTim) congrats on the 9th placeππ
What a year of races. The only races I missed was because of holidays (that cost me several places in the championship, especially my battle for points with Matthias Heil π). All other times there was no excuse to keep me from racing on Thursdays. Even at work I had to explain why I was leaving early at a Thursday event and wasnβt drinking π·. Priorities! Muckers races come first. Even my family knows not to disturb me in the garage on Tuesday and Thursday nights and why I eat dinner alone, earlier then them on those nights. We do it all, not just for the points, but to ride with this amazing community π₯°. Thanks Neil and Kyle for all your efforts to create the Muckers and I hope to see all of you Muckers in the 2025 races. I know Iβll be there π
SillySilNL you are amazing, I always admire you and keep my fingers crossed for you.
I don’t have enough strength to fight with all these guys, but I try to compete and do my best π
Regards, Sunniva
Thank you so much Sunniva π. Iβm always happy to see you, because weβre 2 of the few regular females in the Muckers races. Iβm glad to see Karianne now more often and hopefully we can get more women to join! The fun thing about the Muckers races is that there is a group of men for every woman π (for every level) and racing between them is always fun. CU in 2025 π
Yep, those battles were brilliant and I’m looking forward to lots more in the new year.
It’s a wrap, final race for 2024 championship (with bonus race tomorrow). I missed two races because of holiday, one without points because hr meter did not work, otherwise joined all of them, never dreamed of that! Back to race, strong field, nasty short climb right after start, not best setup after having full plate of potato salad and carp for lunch three days in row, but you have to please your family, that is what matters.
Race was decided in nasty climb, with all out effort, PR 8,5 wkg 30sec and magic of 4-spokes, we stayed six in the lead. Known names, one unknown jumping interestingly forth and back, no wonder with dumb trainer sneaking into smart trainer only race. Few more bumps, few corner braking situations, with sprint finale. Positioned well, i focused on Toni Stadler, yet i could not hang on his initial surge and finished behind rest of the group. Very happy with today, yesterday, this month, quarter, year. Great year of exciting races, thank you everyone who joined us and looking forward to new year!
Well done Karel. great effort and such a strong rider!!
First of all, great thanks to Neil and Kyle. It’s amazing what you’ve done for us all year. It was an honor for me today to be able to thank Neil directly at the last race of the season, with a little support while riding.
Now one small complaint, I think they should have been mentioned (if not the top three women), then at least the very best One. Big respect and admiration from me Silvia (SillySil).
When I decided to participate in the Rouvy races regularly in January, I discovered the World championship (found out what NED means and got a working HR sensor on my second attempt) at the end of the month. Since February, I’ve missed maybe only one race, but at the beginning I didn’t expect a high ranking at all. Gradually, I got used to giving everything in the Thursday races and thanks to the summer participations I got into the TOP 10. However, already during October I saw what kind of aces I was moving between and it seemed completely impossible to maintain my position. But I followed the motto never give up and it worked out (even by that one point ahead of Mads). There are many ifs, who lost what points and how (fairly or not but always according to the rules that Neil set), but they are forgotten. Once and for all I was in the world championship in the TOP 10 and that feeling will stay with me. It is much more than prizes for me (big thanks for them) and also more than ballast for next year (big thanks again π).
I will definitely not leave the races, but hopefully I will be without as much pressure as I was in the last 3 months.
Congratulations to Stefan, Laurent and Karel, amazing performances and an amazing fight. Congratulations also to everyone else in the TOP 10 and especially to Mike Hagen. I am not afraid to tell my friend after all those meters climbed and rides together. My last mention definitely belongs to Manuel – great work Shark!
Thanks to everyone who participated and helped create and keep Muckers Worlwide.
RaTim
BTW first 6 places – 6 different countries! In the TOP 10 three Danes and two Czechs. Where are the home ones? πππ
And sorry for the lenght π«’π«£
Thanks β€οΈ, this year we have created a beautiful Muckers group, we sweet, smile, suffered, never give up together and above all we helped each other πͺπ
Thank you Tomas ππ. I too hope that Neil will add some kind of ranking for women next year. I really think it would help to get more women to the Muckers races!
ahhhh the good old NED classifications. I miss those! But next year, NITEOR will just remove all riders with no HR data automatically which means i don’t have to waste time checking every single rider i give a mention to!
I kinda feel a separate mentions for the women just opens up a whole other Pandora’s box as I’d then have to start checking all their figures as well, its just extra work. there’s lots of great ideas to make the blog better, more in-depth etc etc, but i only have Thursday night, after the race, to then get the blog done before you all forget about it anyway ππ. If i publish the blog 2 days later, no one comments as we all have a short attention span nowadays and if something isn’t instant, its soon forgot. Just the way of the world.
Congratulations to everyone.
Sometimes I race with you and sometimes I do climbing on Sunday mornings. Thank you for the great fun and for everything you do, Neil and Kyle. See you on the virtual routes.
Keep joining us as you are the best at thumbs up!! you always give and receive Kudos very well!!
Just to add to what the others said: Absolutely brilliant series, and the Thu stampede is by far the best rouvy race every week. Really appreciate the work you two put into keeping the show on the road (and for keeping your patience with our occasional nagging, odd requests and whatever else happens behind the scenes). Also a massive thanks to all the regulars, especially those who tended to race in (or near) whatever group I ended up in. You definitely got the best out of me and always put a big smile on my face. After all these races, we know each others’ strengths and weaknesses, but there are no robots; we all have good days and bad days, and slogging it out on rubbery legs is as much part of it as winning the odd sprint (usually for literally pointless positions!) when it all comes together. Looking forward to lots more of this (hopefully the latter!) next year!
Nice one Matthias! Proper strong rider who i know is having a poor race if i see you in my nearby list!! We really try to repeat what you say about when you race regularly, you do get to know who your rivals are and just have your race with them! be it racing for 30th of 80th. Winning your own 5 way sprint for whatever position is unbelievable and you can’t help but be full of smiles as you cool down afterwards and reality creeps back in.
Hi guys. So that was 2024, what a year! First of all, congratulations to all the top riders. I can only dream of being so strong, chapeau! In 2022, after a long break, I started cycling again. In November β22 I joined Rouvy and in early 2023 I became a βmuckerβ. From then on, the show began… 2023 was already a good year and I set myself “ambitious” goals for 2024: 6.000 km of cycling and 50.000 metres of altitude. What can I say: now it’s been more than 9.000km and more than 105.000m. Nothing special for some of the Rouvy Pros I rode with, but for me it was the best cycling year of my life. With real life events like the Stelvio, Grossglockner, Sella Ronda…. Muckers! It wouldn’t have been possible without you. Thank you all so much! And a big shout out to Neil and Kyle for their efforts.
See you all in 2025 MUCKERS WORLDWIDE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP…
Nice one Mucker! I’ve personally seen you get stronger and stronger, from being someone I’d know i could beat, to then a proper level competitor to now being well up the road!! It was great to meet you in real life and ride with you (even though i was proper hung over that day) but chatting off the bike was just a good!
Well done on your achievement, look forward to seeing what you do in 2025!
I think i missed 2 races, had to do maybe 3 or 4 at the extra time slots and never once got stressed.. π€·ββοΈ It was a challenge route and if i got good points, great, if i didn’t (which was most races) then better luck next race.
I did get stressed When ROUVY switched the results page and then i couldn’t check heart rate anymore which was a rule for the top 50 at that time, so it was a bit of a free for all for a few months which i really didn’t like. Also stressed when we found out that the results page only went to the top 100 finishers!! so for a few weeks, 101 place and upwards got no points and had no way to retrieve the results, meaning we were actually relived when we had less than 100 on the start line!
Very stressed when riders glitched on the line! Yes we could see you had more than likely finished, but we had to treat everyone the same! lots had experienced glitching and we’d always said we will always use the official ROUVY finishing order for results, and just that. So we had to treat everyone the same. It always happened to the nice riders as well!!!
NITEOR came to my rescue 3/4 of the way through the year, and although we had a bit of a sticky start ( Muckers races throwing up issues they’d not seen before and my total skepticism for trying something new lol) It soon became a tool in can’t be without, cutting the blog time down by a good 50%! Thanks Davide.
so not only did i do most of the races, i also wrote a blog and worked out the scores for all the races. I got 22nd overall in the worlds ( a few spots behind “breers33” and a few spots in front of “Tuden” sounds about right doesn’t it πππ, i think that’s a fair reflection of where i am at….) Smashed it in the quiet months and even got as high as 11th in some months final championships, So i just had to keep plugging away, and if i did all the races i tended to just get enough points to get into the top 50. Just the month where we had a family bereavement was the month i didn’t get enough to scrape into it, but that’s fine, its real world, this isn’t.
So finally, well done everyone, i enjoyed it, and hopefully next years watered down version keep everyone happy or at least less stressed. Remember, no one is holding a gun to your head and you’ve not paid to do this, so just chill and enjoy the experience.
What a great group of people, hope you all have a great 2025 – Thanks Michael M. for suggesting I join you all in some racing. Good to see folks that gave this a go popping up on other rides. Sorry I missed you all at the end due to health issue, but what a fantastic job by Neil and any of the team that assisted in scaling this up to where you are now.
Nice one Mucker. It really does get “familiar” after a while and you know who you are racing against, plus you also know who to catch up or drop or wonder “omg, why are they 10 places in front of me!!!” LOL its always good to see your name in the entry list and hope you come back for 2025!
Congratulations to all who participated in the 2024 race Series & Happy New Year π
Big thank you Neil & Kyle for making the Mucker rides available for us on a continous basis – highlights of my week when I am able to join π
Cheers Muckers!!
Hi all Mucker participants, Thank you all for a competitive year with really strong efforts by all of you.
I find the concept great! Its realy cool to race with so many on so many different levels.
Thank you Mucker admins for delivering this championship week after week.
For myself, the championship 2024 races couldn’t have been better.I cannot say that i started the year as one of the top guns. After a few month i felt like i raised the level bit by bit. After rouvy changed the drafting it looked like i had a chance to fight for victories. Apart from beeing away 2 months in the summer and 3 single races throug the year, iv done all races in the championship. Giving everything.
Its been a year with a lot of wins, podiums and mentions. I even won the fight for most HC % =). Still i got beaten by a lof by Stefan, Irollin and Karel in the championship. They were great, strong and consistent. So the pressure is now on for the 2025 championship.
Iv used some time to make som stats that i want to share with you guys.
I cannot guarantee that all the stats are 100% correct.
Thank you =)

I will for sure race in 2025. Looks like you are doing a lot of changes to make the competition even more interesting.
Need to look into how i put the kids to bed while im racing the few times my wife are on work trips. I might have to try the later on races a few times.
