WHATS NEXT TO COME:
Remember you are more than welcome to come and race with us on any of our races even if the championships are of no interest to you. The more the merrier!! These championships are just here as extra motivation and fun ways to train.
Sunday Hill Climb (aka the Sunday hill climb championship)
Double header this weekend!
1st climb: Tour de Suisse 2026 | Stage 5 – Villars | 10.11 miles | 2,874 ft. elevation. You have a very nice 75 minutes to get this done if you want to start the 2nd one with the pack (remember you can be late and it wont affect your points as its all about the elevation you achieve, not how fast!)
2nd climb: Tour de Suisse 2026 | Stage 2 – Locarno | 24.48 miles | 2,162 ft. elevation. Quite a long one for the 2nd ride, so its worth trying to get to the main start so at least you have a chance to draft along the long flatter 15 miles that the profile suggest, otherwise thats a long way to ride solo to then hit the climbs…. The choice is yours…….

Tuesday Race Night (aka the w/kg training championship)
Tour de Suisse 2026 | Stage 3 – Bad Ragaz | 16.53 miles | 1,040 ft. elevation
The 2.3w/kg target and a nice route to use to aim for this. Most will probably aim to have the average well over 2.5 by the top of the climb then its all about managing your power output to the end to hopefully cross the line with that 2.3w/kg average figure.

P.S we have squeezed another challenge route in as a warm up at 18:25 if anyone fancies it. We use the: Club la Santa – Tinajo – Tinguatón | Lanzarote | route which has 1056ft of elevation over its relatively short 8 miles. looking at the leaderboard, an average speed of 12.5-13mph will have this completed in 36-38 minutes, just in time for the main race.
Thursday Race Night (aka the world championship)
Round 3 and we have a biggie:
Oberalp Pass | Sedrun | Switzerland | 27.77 miles | 2,110 ft. elevation. A route which almost looks downhill in profile, this will be a real test, especially if the heat-wave in the UK and the rest of Europe continues! Definitely expect to be in the saddle for well over an hour so make sure to keep hydrated!

TO FINISH OFF:
hope you enjoyed the short race?? 2 longer ones now to finish off the month which means we’ll have had a nice mix for the month of July. Hope everyone enjoyed the race and are looking forward to the rest of the month. These are still the best months to get those good scores in if you can before we see numbers increase later on in the year…
Thank you to Ste Ludford who helped out more than normal tonight with the scores.
And as per usual, thank you to you all for the continued support, we really do appreciate it as there’s definitely a lot of race series to choose from nowadays so to see so many regular names week in week out, is quite humbling but we also hope it means we are doing something right….right? 🤔😏
Thanks to all that read and comment on the blogs, and especially those who read right to the very end. Thank you.

Time to put up or shut up as they say! I had such a bad race last week that i stupidly said “i would have my revenge” this week! What the heck was i thinking!! Well, i was thinking i made such a mess of last weeks that i couldn’t really do any worse, but also, this is kinda my profile… just one longish climb, but small kickers which i love… if i do poor here, well, its time to just quit this cycling stuff and get back to trying to complete NETFLIX!
looking at all the earlier times, i set a goal of 38mins and that needed an average speed of over 22mph. Lets go!
The start was good, really weird not ramping up the speed at the 3-2-1 anymore as i basically have to do nothing till it hits 1 and i can then crank it and accelerate. I just nail it to over 23mph, then suck wheels to the climb, hoping to have something to get me over it. Hit the base of the climb, thumbs up to everyone who now drop me and i try to stay over 3.0 up this thing!! Man! this was out of the saddle, 170bpms all out….. then nielsbrynnm just fly’s past me 😂😂😂😂. cheers mucker, but no, don’t let this demoralize you, try and catch… yes i know i wasn’t going to, but it took my mind off the rest of the climb as i just grinded up and over. Hit the downhill and i am solo, but a nice pack behind. New Plan. recover, but keep that momentum going so they have to put it in a little to catch me and hopefully wont sail past me! 🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞 ( the thought of pushing on solo never really came into my mind!)
My average speed is decent, I’m quite impressed, I’m well over my target and well over half way and more than 3/4 of the climbing is done so theoretically, I’m going to smash my target so i can do even better if i ride in this fast approaching pack! They come within 50ft and i am out of the saddle and ramping it up so when they do pass, i can jump on, i do and we ride to the finish! I think we were down to a group of 3 as we hit the last little rise, but i had nothing left to even try a sprint, i was just buzzing with my time as it was looking good for under 35 mins, so i just kept it strong and stead over the line.
Actually got 2nd in class and this has now taken me away from last in my category of the riders who have done both races so far this month. I hit some personal PBs tonight but the realist inside me says “so i should” as it WAS a short race! The next race will be a killer though, as i can’t do this kind of effort for over an hour at 168bpms, so i think i maxed out tonight’s as best i could so i can at least be happy with that and lets see how the next 2 go.
I knew my small points lead after the TT last week wasn’t going to hold up if you had a good race but I didn’t expect you to double up on me. Great riding Neil!! You smashed it!!
Great to see you in the second group for such a long time, well done Neil!
And good to finally say hi on Discord yesterday, Christian 👋
I knew this was going to be a fast race. I had been nursing a pulled muscle in my neck since Tue (too much yard work) but thankfully the Tue race was 2.0 so I pushed through it. Iced up Tue and Wed and felt better by the evening but I was still worried it might affect Thursday race. After reviewing the earlier race times and speeds I set a goal of sub 37 min with a stretch goal of 36 min. I needed to average at least mid 23 mph. I also had to smash the start and get into the lead group and try and hold on to the first real climb. My neck felt pretty good so here we go 3, 2, 1, and off with a good start and in the lead group. I managed to hang on and even lead once I think but somehow got dropped on one of the latter rollers resulting in me riding solo until the first climb which wasn’t in the plan. the group with LinV and Stelviobound were catching me but, my average time was good so rather than back off and group up I decided to keep pushing it. They caught me at the steeper part of the climb but, I couldn’t grab on so I just had to hope that someone would fall off and I could ride with them the second half. And there he was, Stelviobound, We crested close enough to group up on the decent and my average speed was high 23 mph so I felt good about hitting my stretch goal. We worked well together (thanks Chuck) for the rest of the race, not catching anyone but, not being caught either. My average speed was up over 24 mph now so I didn’t let up on the greens but, Stelviobound kept rolling past me on the little rollers. If that scenario kept playing out it would be a tough finish for me. Well, that’s how it played out, Stelviobound pass me on the last climb and I didn’t have enough juice left to give him any pressure. Still a really good race for me, finishing at 35:25.8 with an average speed of 24.7 mph. I was really happy with my performance until I saw the leader board and Neil finished over a minute faster than me. Oh well, it was Neil’s time to smash it and that doesn’t take away from my efforts, right? Well, it’s weird that it feels like it does. Time to focus on nexts weeks longer ride. See you all there!
I got home yesterday just in time to watch the 6:30 race and thought you all smashed it. Really great to watch and you all timed it perfect with the TDF highlights on channel 5 lol.
Sprinters stage on the menu in Muckers champs, it was clear other riders will be dominating. Especially as i had some sort of sore threat, probably from air conditioning. With that i appreciated easy course, where big 15+ group stayed together for the first half of the race. After mini bumps we stayed nine and with that sprint finish came. A bit later reaction caused i can be happy not finishing last in our group. Business as usual race, but it does not need to be thrilling every time. Thank you all who joined us.
Good performance for me as second race after the first at 18.00 in French competition. A good start and I work fine with a well group with many hard cyclists, here I know that I must hold power for the 3 kickers in front of me… in the second I lost Mike and Ratim and start to ride alone, this time I opted to wait other 3 riders, my friend klinthomie and BTK_jiri70_cz and Sue Brown.
It was a pity that the other don’t push more for cath another time the group in front of us, and I work for hold a good pace for the group behind (Slyfly and Duckman2) always dangerous to have near 😅😎. At the end good sprint where I finish second of 4.
Good performance, under 30” behind Mike and Company, and good 4th place in A4 and also in general A4.
See you for the next and thanks to everyone who ride with me 👋💪🦈
I never am able to keep Duckman2 (Jon) at a distance once he locks in on me, but this time around it worked OK – all thanks to you guys! Thanks for the ride, friend!
Really nice to be back with all the familiar faces in the Muckers Championship 🤩. Haven’t done much (= ANY) sprinting in the last 3 months so the plan was basically to hang on in the front as long as possible, perhaps even make some ambitious small accelerations on the kickers just to dwindle down the frontgroup (after all the Muckers Championship is NOT a charity 😁) and hopefully get to the end in as small a group as possible – so quite satisfied with finishing #6 out of the last 9 in the front. Already looking forward to next week 👋
Well the target was to average 25 mph, that would get me to the finish in 35 mins. I executed pretty much right on script 35 mins 23 seconds. Thanks for the draft everyone, and thanks to my wife who let me buy a new trainer😍. Now I need to take a look at next weeks race. A7 can’t get any tighter.
I just looked at next week’s race – A single 2000 foot climb. I will really need to psych myself up for this one.
A flat stage? Yes please! I was hoping for a top ten, but that was before I entered the race and saw the names in there.
Anyways, off we go, plan is to be in front group at least till the “big” climb, but alas – I was totally unfocused on one of the very small bumps in the beginning (I was changing songs) and got dropped from the front 16. I waited for the next group and stayed with them, names like MikeHagen, Neil, Sharky, Ratim, Jon (Duckman) and more were there. On the big climb, a couple of the familiar names got just out of reach … 30-35 meters before the top, but as we all know, that is enough of a gap for them to leave you behind for good on a stage like this.
I was not feeling it at this point. I got into a group with Sharky, which was so nice, with company of somebody I didn’t know and BTKjiri (sorry if I butcher the username). We stayed together untill the end and we kept people like NielsBrynnum & co from catching us, but we could not get into a groove where we could catch Mike, Pan Rorisi and Ratim. A shame, really, but I wasn’t pulling as much as I normally would. My energy is just depleted these days, trying to stay in a caloric deficit.
Next week is gonna be tough to make. I will have to pack my Elite Suito if I want to join, let’s see if it fits in our little family car or not …
Have a pleasant summer y’all!
It’s a short, flat course and my legs are fresh, so let’s go for a good result. I start, stand up to put power into the pedals, and suddenly my chain drops. So much for the plan 🤷. I get going again and check the nearby leaderboard. There’s Andy_Up, who clearly ran into trouble too. We exchange thumbs up and start working together. And it’s just like Neil says: if you have one partner close by, you’ve got a race. I’m really happy with the final result, though I hope everything works properly next week 💪
