MUCKERS APRIL CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL RACE. 25/04/24

ROUVY Route Used: Challenge Cagnes-Sur-Mer | 17.37 miles | 3425ft climbing
INTRODUCTION:
So sorry for the delay!! I missed this race myself as I was travelling out to the Muckers Flanders Get together and only returned home Very Early today (Monday Morning) so I’ve been calculating the scores and now ready to get the Blog going! (What a great trip, blog coming soon!!)
This is the first time this year we’ve had less than 50 finishers in the main race. This now presents a great opportunity for all those in the other Races to get some top 50 points, but it also means they all have to be checked if a NED or not and some of these guys might have never been checked before due to always finishing with a time outside the top 50 (which is my usual cut off to stop the checks!)
Reminder: a NED will be someone whos data I cannot see. Only way to see it on Rouvy is via the “friends” tab (which I will have sent you a friends request at some point, usually the first time you ever got into a top 50 placing on a championship race) or you sort out we follow each other on Strava. Once I can see your data it has to include heart rate data. This is not to see if you are cheating, its to stop those that do and if you think you’d like to keep going in the muckers championships and feel you’re going to be top 50, then the only option at the moment is just buy one. they are so cheap on amazon and ebay, and are also a great training tool for the money. I don’t check this data on the first round “smart trainer only” versions but that rule is set for the year so even if it was to change, it’d be from January 2025.
NEDs get removed completely from the Main Race top 50, but not from the other results as most of the time these other results NEDs are due to being new to the Muckers Races so hopefully they see this, plus my invite, and sort things out. 🤞

MAIN (19:00 GMT) RACE RESULT:
74 Registered | 44 Starters | 38 Finishers | 30 DNS | 6 DNF
30 Non-Starters today…. it’s definitely getting to that time of year that people are getting outdoors but registering for the races just in case they can’t get out. Totally not an issue and we are really happy that you chose us as the back up plan so please keep doing so, but to those who keep coming back to race with us, and rely on us to be here, we will be! Lower than winter numbers also mean a really good chance to grab some of those top 50 points that we all aim for in the colder months, so if you can, now’s the time to start getting on it and having a few good months in the Muckers monthly championship’s and get some great base points in the bag for the world championship! (see separate blog on the Muckers Worldwide Website for world championships placings)
You also get the chance to get into the top 20 special mentions placings as well now, and if you chose to, purchase the special mention T-Shirt from the shop and proudly let others know you are one of a select few! (also any purchase helps us keep things ticking along here in the Muckers Shed so all purchases go a long way to keeping the blogs coming!)
Tough Last race for this months Championship, and even with a few NEDs removed, you still had to somehow hit a high average speed of over 13mph to get top 20! Like I said, its a bigger chance to get a top 20 mention, but by no means is it gonna be easy!
“Gil.Mad.io” returned to winning ways after missing 2 races, and in what style! over 40 seconds in front of the next 2 chasers who were having there own Norwegian battle to see who got the next spot! This was claimed by “BareRemi” who just got the better of championship leader “ErlendSundstrom”. Not too far off comes “karel_sousek” in 4th then “nelsonsnyder” in 5th, but we then experience an eerily silence for 4 minutes until “Ruudbaars” breaks that silence and pops over the finish line for a very nice 6th place.
Top Muckers Worldwide team rider tonight is “m-forby” in 7th, closely followed by the strong duo of “Stefan_Schmidt” in 8th and “hinsbergen” in 9th then a short gap to “DonMatteo_07” rounding out the top 10.
A strong rider list next just separated overall by a few minutes were “tranberg” gets a nice 11th, “lrollin” 12th “boogyBill70” 13th and “macko” 14th.
15th comes “batbuilder” who was just in front of fellow Muckers “chorus” in 16th and “MikeHagen” in 17th. OldGit “perswe” in 18th then 2 more Muckers rounding out the top 20 with “SwissChris69” getting 19th and “Chak” 20th.
Well done everyone for finishing this tough tough challenge route and see you at the next one!

APRIL CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL STANDINGS:
ErlendSundstrom gets his first championship win (And podium) this month! He now gets the 1.5% winners ballast points deduction that he has to carry for the rest of the year for his achievement though….! Well done for another strong month for BareRemi who now gets a superb 49 points into the world championship pot but adds an extra 1.0% winners ballast to his total for the year giving him a massive 2.5% deficit! can he keep this up??? And finally, well done to hinsbergen for getting his first top 3 monthly championship position! And only 0.5% ballast for you but you do carry it all year.
Well done to all and especially the top 50 who will now have all been added to the 2024 world championship table that is featured on its own blog on the website.

Had to skip this one due to preperations for Flandrien Weekend. Dropped from about 10th place to 19th. 🙁
It is what it is!
it is what it is, but you are still 9th in the world championship rather than joint 9th so not as bad as it could have been. you did a really strong 3 races mucker so you were safe……
I missed 2 races out of the 4 but i think because of getting top 50 in both, and the drop in numbers now, I just did enough to get enough points for a top 50 placing out of 133 different riders who got points this month. i was actually 8th out of all the other 16 riders who only did 2 as well so that’ll do and it keeps my top 50 streak going for another month.
I was surprised to find myself in the final Top 50 after having missed two races, too! Happy to have some time off from flying this month to catch more of them. Maybe I’ll make Top 40! Ha ha!
