MUCKERS SUNDAY HILL CLIMB RACE. 08/10/23

ROUVY Route Used: Mt.Lemmon | Arizona | USA | 25.1 miles | 5826.77ft climbing.

53 Registered | 26 Starters | 19 Finishers ( 9 not classified due to no Heart Rate data ) | 7 DNF | 27 DNS

To all those who were on that start line this morning for this race, and looked at the challenge in front of them and stayed with it, I applaud you! Yes there’s no red sections to put up with, but we are still taking on a climb that’s just under 6000ft.

Very Strong Muckers Sunday Regular “Kaihu” showed his skills yet again with an Amazing effort to get this climb done in 1:35.56! Just over 3 minutes later comes “Dennis_R” who had to actually produce more average power than the winner to get this position! Strong Ride!

10 Minutes later “karel_sousek” gets the bump up to 3rd due to lack of data from the original bronze medal place, with “krisskinder” coming over the line next to get 4th place. “Grochang” just over a minute later for 5th place, with “PatrykS_Gdynia_PL” about the same amount of time back in 6th!

Another 8 places with no Heart Rate data means “MatthiasHeil” gets awarded 7th place in this Muckers Worldwide Results, “MinionDave” gets awarded 8th, 9th to “Slyfly” and the final mention to “Mucker1974” who must be glad now he kept going!

Don’t forget to have a look around the site please, we have some nice and interesting products in the store that are our only ask to keep this going. We don’t charge subscriptions or anything like that, but if you buy a T-Shirt etc, It all goes to keeping this whole thing going!

Well done to everyone that had a go at this. To those that didn’t get a mention, you are still classified in the ROUVY classifications, but if you want to be included in the Muckers Worldwide Results, we need to see your data. Its nothing personal and no way are saying your effort is wrong, we just want it to become common knowledge that if you enter a Muckers Race, you are all racing against others on as level a playing field as possible without going mad on rules and regulations. Anyway, please scroll to the bottom of the final results page to see the post that explains it all better.

co-founder of muckersworldwide.com and race organizer! Been into cycling since a kid and spent most of the time on BMX and mountain bikes. Took me longer than most to get the road cycling bug but I was bitten around 5 years ago when I finally got a fully fledged road bike that fitted and I let the flat handled road bike go...

19th on the road, Got a bump up to 10th though due to a a large amounts of NED’s! This was a horribly long climb and i think i am coming down with something so i used this as a way to maybe sweat it out, stuck to a nice 2.0 all the way and although the last 5 miles or so started to really feel horrible, i am so happy to have completed this and i think the amount of quitters helped keep me going as they were always quite far up the road when they kept quitting so I had someone to aim for. Don’t think the sweating it out worked, but glad to get a top 10 mention.

My second Sunday ride with the Muckers and was looking forward to a 2 hours ride up hill🚵‍♂️
I tried to stay in HR zone 4 but no chance if you also want to keep up in front. Even though I had 43 minutes in HR zone 5, I really tried to bring it down as fast as possible in zone 4 again (time in zone 4 – 1:03) Not easy to bring your HR down when Patryk was pushing the pace
    Thanks Patryk for the ride🚵‍♂️💨🚵‍♂️

First outing with the Muckers – a nice gentle introduction (not!). A great climb and awesome scenery – the descent towards the end was a nice relief. My avatar wasn’t pedalling which was weird – I definitely was – so had to turn him off. Thanks all and to Slyfly in particular for keeping me honest trying to catch. Set off planning to ride at around 70-75% of ftp but ended up averaging 81% and mostly z3 HR. Garmin tells me my aerobic effort was 5.0 – tempo but over reaching. Some strong riders in the group – Kudos!

Dream route today, I like this style. At around 10km I thought I’d try to break away from Dennis_R and PFHM and I succeeded and was able to keep the pace. It seemed that Dennis_R increased his speed towards the end. Thanks to everyone for the race day.
