A week late with the blog but we’ve left it for as long as we feel we can.
What happened? Well at the end of the main race results were hit with A google cloud outage! Some riders data saved, some didn’t. Now this in itself is not nice, but our rules and regs do say if we are hit with a glitch, we just have to suck it up and treat it as a mechanical, or a massive crash or failed drug test etc etc, not, as some suggested, a reason to not count round 2 in the championship.
The actual proper problem we were faced with was for those riders who race the “Later-On” version who couldn’t even get onto the race because of the outage. This was something we’d not accounted for so we quickly arranged a re-run of this race the following day at the same start time. This was the only reason for this extra race. It was just an added bonus that those that glitched in the first race were now going to get an extra chance to set a time if they wanted to. we’ve always set our Muckers Championship races as “best time set” rather than “first time set” So its always been there to be able to do as many races as you want and NITEOR will always run with your fastest time for the results.
So its been a strange week as every day, 1 or 2 riders data would suddenly appear on the rouvy leaderboard and i would then refresh race 2 again and let it be added.
But its been a week, Race 3 has just finished and i now have 2 lots of results to crack on with so now is the time to finalize Race 2 and get this blog out there.
103 riders data came over which isn’t far off the normal anyway, we have 75 left after no hr data riders removed then 73 riders left after 2 under 60kg males removed.

TOP 3 CAT. A9 RIDERS FROM THIS RACE: UNDER 2.3 W/KG
co-founder of muckersworldwide.com and race organizer! Been into cycling since a kid and spent most of the time on BMX and mountain bikes. Took me longer than most to get the road cycling bug but I was bitten around 5 years ago when I finally got a fully fledged road bike that fitted and I let the flat handled road bike go...
first off, sorry to all those that lost the data in the google cloud glitch! I actually had a great race and was 29th over the line, which then changed to 10th straight afterwards because of the missing data. As the week went on, Rouvy finally “settled” at 20th so i know 9 riders definitely crashed in front of me. Some of them managed to get on the bonus race and set a time, so not too bad considering it could have been a lot worse. Its been a lesson and i will put something in place for next year, with my main preference being 1 race on a Friday as a “back-up” which then means i can get the blog done at weekend rather than struggling through on a Thursday night.
Sprinters race, so i did not need conserve much energy before as i expected best sprinters will overtake this one. That was handy as it was very nice outdoors. Back to race, group of 20 riders for half of the race, followed by 11 riders for other half. It was not easy at all stay there, but i did it and we finished in big sprint finale, where i did my best, yet it was just enough for top 10. Thank you all who joined us!
