MUCKERS 2026 JUNE CHAMPIONSHIP RACE 3.

ROUTE AND RACE DETAILS:

R4H Winterchallenge: Gollersattel – Albersdorf | 20.08 miles | 1,512 ft. elevation

ROUVY SAY: Visit Estern Styria and join us in supporting Ride4Hope and MED4HOPE Austria to help reach the soap.4hope goal — and ride for a good cause! By taking part, compare yourself with Christoph Strasser and collect money for rinding a Segment for med4hope : https://challenge.sitzfleisch.net

WE SAY: A Nice winter route to take our minds off the summer heat! That’s how it works… right? Ah well, for those that turned up, this was a nice race route with everything in it and at 20 miles and 1500ft, you could set a goal time and see if you got under it! The route had everything in it, even those pesky bends right before a climb so you loose all that momentum… gotta love those lol

Before we move on, just gotta re-itterate that if you do hit any glitches or get a dsq, we need to know now! like now for us, when we are doing all the calculations after the race. So it’s now 9:30PM and we have just finished the results and not heard anything off anyone so this is how it will stand this week. It’s too late to let us know once the blog is underway and definitely too late once the blog is published. We promise we aren’t being funny or awkward, it’s just a massive mess around to re do it all and we spend all night Thursday doing this so we don’t want to spend any other night re-doing it. Hey, if it’s our error, we will so please let us know if that happens, but we have to set a cut-off for anyone who needs to let us know of any issues just so we know we aren’t spending the night on this, just to find out the next day someone got a DSQ and you have raised a case. Make sure we know within those few hours after the main race, or sooner if possible. cheers.

WHATS NEXT TO COME:

Remember you are more than welcome to come and race with us on any of our races even if the championships are of no interest to you. The more the merrier!! These championships are just here as extra motivation and fun ways to train.

Sunday Hill Climb (aka the Sunday hill climb championship)

Riposto to Nicolosi Nord | Sicily | 22.03 miles | 6,309 ft. elevation!

Roll out from the Sicilian coast near Riposto and begin the long ascent towards Mount Etna. The route climbs through quiet villages, twisting volcanic roads and lava-covered slopes before finishing high at Nicolosi Nord, surrounded by dramatic views of Europe’s highest active volcano.

The only route on the Mount Etna challenge so come along and complete this with us and get the 1000 XP for completing the challenge as well.

Search “Muckers Sunday” in the event search function on ROUVY to find all the scheduled climbs we have created so far. All start times included in the championship.

Tuesday Race Night (aka the w/kg training championship)

Mazara del Vallo to Marsala | Sicily | 14.48 miles | 194 ft. elevation

2.8w/kg target!! Shortish route with not much elevation so this might just be do-able….. might.

We also have a warm up race at 18:40 (UK)

Beckenried | Switzerland | 6.27 miles | 312 ft. elevation. Nice little challenge route to get the legs and lungs ready for the main race!

Search “Muckers Tuesday” in the event search function on ROUVY to find all the scheduled races we have created so far at the 6 different start times. All start times included in the championship

Thursday Race Night (aka the world championship)

Clonakilty | Rosscarbery | Ireland | 13.65 miles | 942 ft. elevation

The last round of this month is a bit of a short one, but with nearly 1000 feet of elevation, it won’t be an easy one! This looks like a great route to finish out this months world championship round and see how it affects the worlds GC!! remember, its all about Top 50 in this months GC and if you can do that, get those bonus points for top 3 in your cat! Simples lol

Search “Muckers championship” in the event search function on ROUVY to find all the scheduled races we have created so far at the 7 different start times. All start times included in the championship

TO FINISH OFF:

Not much to report as we covered the main topic at the start. Good luck next week and hopfully you get some decent points as these next few months are the ones to get those big results in while it’s a bit quieter!

Thanks for reading the blog and those that comment, and a special thanks to all of you that read it all the way to the end. Appreciate it.

Only 38 on the main race tonight which is a double edge sword isn’t it. Yes you have a good chance of some decent points, but you also have less draft to get you higher in the leaderboard than those riders who took part in the less populated extra time slots. My ETA here was 1:03 which is quite slow and would have put me outside the top 50 so i did everything i could to get under the 60 mins mark. Poor start but mainly due to having a few errands to do before the race meaning no warm up, so didn’t set off like a mad man and i was pretty much in last place, but once the speed finally kicked in, i passed a few then hit the first climb. aim was 3.0 all the way which i managed, then off to the next climb and try that again, but this time i could only average 2.9. I was also watching the average speed as if i wanted to get under the 60 mins, i needed to be at 21mph, and by the time the 2nd climb was done, i had an average of 17, but i’d smashed off well over 2/3rds of the elevation so as long as i had some draft to the finish, we might be ok…..

I’m basically solo lol. So i am just watching my stats. i see i am closing on Vilem on the stuttery part and i put in 1 big effort to catch just before it goes to a downhill in the hopes we slingshot our way home. The slingshot helped, but as soom as we needed to climb again, he was not up for that and i was solo again. But am i now catching Levi?? bloody hell!! i need to do one more out the saddle high power efforts up and over the last kicker then. I do it and i do everything to poer past as to not let him catch my wheel which he very nearly did, then it was all about watching the gap home and i just do it.

Really glad as taking those 2 riders meant i was coming home just behind 4world and he is my category rival!!

all in all , nice route and best result i could get. so lets see how next week goes.

    • Brian Westfall (4WorldPeace) says:

Definitely a strong effort to pass both those riders. I was totally spent crossing the line. It totally sucks descending solo when you have riders ahead working together. I guess we can say thank goodness for the stuttery part!

    • VIlemStrakos says:

On the stuttering part I was in a big crisis. I’m sorry, but I couldn’t cooperate with you longer. I was glad I got to the finish line at all.

  2. Brian Westfall (4WorldPeace) says:

This was a tough race for me. The one goal I set was to try and finish sub 58 minutes. I had a decent start, hit the long climb pretty hard, and just settled in for the grind. Sunniva, Levi09, and VilemStrakos caught me and I road with them for most of the rest of the climb but, I was struggling to stay with them toward the top, and in turn they crested before me so I had to work really hard on the short decent to get back into their draft. We hit the second shorter but steeper climb together but, I lost focus and must have held my shifter (virtual) to long when downshifting for the climb and end up in gear one, and by the time I got into the right gear I had been dropped. I put as much effort as I could to catch them but couldn’t. I think it was a combo of psychologically beating myself up for not cresting the hill with the group and physically working so hard to get back to them on the decent. It resulted in me riding solo for most of the rest of the race. I stopped dwelling on my miss and put my head into TT mode, just focusing on average speed which I needed to get up if I had any chance to hit my goal. I did catch and pass VilemStrakos and then Levi09 who I road with through the rollers but, I pulled away on the decent. Sunniva and DanWren were probably to far ahead to catch so I just focused on continuing to increase my average speed through the line. I missed my goal by about 18 seconds but, I didn’t get passed after my mishaps and gained 2 positions so all and all a decent effort. Hard not to think about what my time could have been if I didn’t loose the draft but lessons will be learned. See you all next week in race 4!

  3. Mike Hagen says:

Chatter before the race was about how hot it was in EU. We’ve had some recent record high temps into the 30s on the Canadian west coast, but I was comfortable in my 20 deg basement. But still nice to see snow! Rocket start and hit the front of the pack in time to see MatthiasHeil doing his usual off-the-front start trick. Stayed there this time to the bottom of the climb, then tried to hold 4 as the leaders pulled away. Matthias didn’t fall off fast at all, then I saw Andy_UP making a run and closing the gap. That was alarming. But he ran out of rockets before he caught up. Ended up in a group with BTK_jiri70_cz, wolli.d, and Dave12. Jiri and Dave had gotten away from me last week, and I know I have to be on the top of my game to keep up with wolli.d, so I was happy riding with these guys. We caught and dropped Sublac72, and we were gaining on m-forby, though we weren’t going to catch him. Into the finish sprint, and I knew my usual MO of going with 500 or 600 m left was not going to work. It never does. So I waited, and waited, and finally lost my nerve with 150 m to go and launched my sprint. Couldn’t catch wolli.d, but finished ahead of the other two, so maybe there is a lesson there LOL.

Eagerly looking at the cat stats after, everybody does that, right? and I see EddyDomino got the same time as my group. Pretty awesome, that, seeing as how he rode alone in an earlier heat.

    • Dominique EddyDomino RODRIGUEZ says:

Mike, you’re right we are experiencing a second heat wave here in France whereas summer has not yet begun! So I continue riding at 10h30. Fortunately, I can race with Tim_Hall and we had a good cooperation until the last 5km where he decided to fly away. It is funny seeing that I finished between you (0.5s difference) and Wolli.d (0.2s)! By the way, I achieved my best 10mn performance of the year, and also of the last 3 years!
Now, summer is coming, I will ride the 4th race of June, but for July and August it will be uncertain, real roads are calling me! Perhaps, I will try to be present for the TT races.

  4. Manuel Lamber SHARK says:

I must rode on Wednesday evening because for main race I have no compatible schedule work for join. Very big effort without draw and also after 4 intense bike ride with many Muckers in my Area where the meeting was.
At the end a good result 31st but the next week I must to skip all the event for a little vacancy in Roma. This month is more full in A4 but I’m very curious for what’s happen.
See you for July Championship 👋💪🦈
