Palmarella to Partinello | Corsica | 14.93 miles | 315 ft. climbing
Time for a short, almost down hill route for round 2! Was 30 mins doable for this nearly 15 mile route?? lets see…
112 riders over the 8 start times set a time, so lets see what that filters down to after we apply the 3 race rules: 91 left after no-hr monitor riders removed then after the under 60kg males removed, we have a really strong 87 riders all still in!
Gotta crack on tonight as i need to get this blog finished then Pack. This also means no blog for 2 weeks but when i return on the 1st of September, i will try to get the blog out there for this month asap, or at least before Septembers championship starts.

TOP 3 CAT. A9 RIDERS FROM THIS RACE: UNDER 2.3 W/KG
What a great night of Racing. Pretty blown away with the numbers so a massive thank you to you all for turning up and we hope you had a great time.
Whilst i am away for the next 2 championship races, please check out NITEOR as the GC and the results will be kept up to date on there. Only thing that wont be is the implementation of our 3 rules so i will sort that out once i return, but you can at least get a rough idea on how its going if you go to NITEOR.
Okay, i really need to get packing so bye for now and see you in just over 2 weeks.
co-founder of muckersworldwide.com and race organizer! Been into cycling since a kid and spent most of the time on BMX and mountain bikes. Took me longer than most to get the road cycling bug but I was bitten around 5 years ago when I finally got a fully fledged road bike that fitted and I let the flat handled road bike go...
my last race for 2 weeks and i signed off with a new ftp and 20 min power! Well done Neil, be at my best right before i fly away and not ride for 2 weeks lol.
Anyway, my kinda route! Downhill start so rocket acceleration off the line and draft to the bottom! did that, now lets see if i can hold onto the hitters along the slightly too long yellow section…. NOPE! got dropped but because I’d made such a good start, the chasing pack, was quite far behind so i paced at about 3.0 and then the train caught me just at the end of this section so i thought i’d try and hang onto this very strong rider pack! did this and lasted all the way too the 2 kickers at the end which i was just happy to get over and finish. Don’t think i have enough points gathered for top 50 at the end of the month after a rubbish first race so this might have to be my spare month! Last year, 2 races was more than enough for top 50, this year i don’t think so.
Well done Mucker 1974.. I intuit that you will have to bypass the 2 upcoming climby stages, but hopefully sun, sangria and surf will get you through. Yes, it was very brisk today. I have decided i will need to reride the route on a recovery day to enjoy the scenery as I just had my head down and peddled today. Many thanks to the two strong committed lads who pushed on with me to the end. A bit of perspetive..navigating my way on Niteor, which is an interesting experience, I learned that of the top 50 today, only one person had a Z7 HR over 79%. That was me at 98%. I apparently dogged it for a moment along the way. And my NWs were 3.75. I will be a bit interested to see what comes during the next two climby races. Thanks all for the chance to participate with the Muckers…cheers
Frustration pur. I don’t know what happened in Rouvy or my Wahoo kickr but I can’t stay at the wheels and in the draft in downhill sections any more. I cannot padle faster than 130 RPM with my 53×11 gearing and it seems like anyone else uses a 65 chainring and is able to get much more power into Rouvy on downhills beyond a normal fast gearing? How do you handle the downhills so fast? Have a great holiday Neil!
Too much heat over paradise. With 35C outside i was glad that tonight race looked easy. We started with long descent section, unfortunately connectivity issue happened and when i plugged back into race, top30 was 50m ahead. I guess even Tadej Pogacar would do nothing with that in that descending terrain. I tried for few minutes, but no way. Finished in other group with Neil, Silvia, with same wkg as winning Baremi. The effort was there and this is the key. Thank you all who joined us.
Another nice race, I don’t like the downhill start because with my kickr bike have always some problem to hold a speedy pace but I try to do a good performance.
I lost a group with too hard riders but I find and work with another special, great Team with Karel, 🇨🇦 Grizzly (Mike) Ratim and Fotochic and Neil. I try to hold more concentration until the end for a god result. Thanks to everyone who rode with me, and see you for the next battle 👋🦈

Have a great holiday Neil!
bungee cord…ant BTW, i can never stay on either
