Muckers this Summer: Indoors or out we will be there!

Introduction: As the days get longer and the weather starts to play nice, the Muckers Worldwide cycling team isn’t holding back. Last Sunday, March 10, 2024, drew in an impressive 165 riders. Fast forward to March 12, 2024, and we had 101 finishers, proving that our crew is not just about talk—we’re out there breaking records and making every pedal count as we gear up for a season of racing that’s both indoors and out.

Year-Round Racing Commitment: We get it—some folks swear by the open road, while others find solace in the indoor grind. Well, guess what? The Muckers are all in, no matter the weather. Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday, we’re hitting the virtual start line on Rouvy, bringing together a global gang of riders who share our passion for the pedal. It’s more than just a race; it’s a virtual brotherhood of sorts, where the only thing that matters is the thrill of the ride.

Venturing Outdoors: But hey, we’re not all about pixels and screens. When we decide to break free from the virtual realm, we’re not keeping it a secret. We lay out our routes and start times, inviting anyone who’s up for a real-life adventure to join us. It’s not just about the ride; it’s about the shared experience, about creating a community that’s as real as the road under your tires.

Summer Racing Updates: As the temperatures rise, so do our plans. Tuesdays and Thursdays are still about the nitty-gritty race reports, giving you the lowdown on the sweat, the struggle, and the triumphs. But Sundays? Well, Sundays are a different story. We’re taking it easy, embracing the laid-back vibe of summer. Flexibility is the name of the game, giving everyone a chance to savor the joy of cycling without the competitive edge.

Invitation to Join: Think you’ve got what it takes, or just looking for a crew to ride with? The Muckers Worldwide cycling team is throwing the doors wide open. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or a rookie in the saddle, there’s a spot for you. Join us on the pavement for some outdoor action or hop onto Rouvy for a virtual showdown. It’s not just about the ride; it’s about the shared love for two wheels.

Conclusion: So, here’s to the Muckers, rolling through the seasons with the wind in our hair and the thrill of the ride in our hearts. The record-breaking rides, the outdoor escapades, and the upcoming summer vibes—it’s all part of the journey. Stay tuned as we keep pedalling forward, leaving a trail of tire tracks that tell the story of a bunch of riders who just love to ride. Cheers to the road ahead!

Kyle is a digital writer for MuckersWorldwide.com I've been out riding all over Greater Manchester, Lancashire and Cheshire for the last 12 years. It is mainly to keep fit as I love food and would be 16st if I didn't ride my bike at least 3 times a week. This leads me to Muckers Worldwide, as when the weather is un-rideable (fair weather cyclist) I move indoors to cycle on Rouvy. We have a large group of races that we race throughout winter in the UK. Hope you come and join us on a Tuesday & Thursday title of the races are "Muckers". Thanks, Kyle

I think Kyle, Neil and me should arrange an outdoor ride together at some point as I only live 4 miles from them. Anyone else local welcome too.

This sounds good Roy. Looking at some of the Rouvy Racers a few live local too, so it would be good to get out, MatthiasHeil only Manchester. I think if we should arrange weekend rides weather permitting from May to Sept. Muckers Road Club.

Looking forward to the outdoor rides. How will it work, will someone propose a ride , give a date, time and proposed route and then get people signing up? It would be good to do some rouvy routes in the real world and compare times with online riders, who could do it at the same time virtually.i suspect the online riders would always have the advantage.

I think the best thing to do is that because we are from all around the world we propose a stating point. So for us it would be something like Worsley Old Hall meet at 9am. then take a route to either somewhere like Soutport or Jodrell Bank. But if you live in Denmark you could arrange something there too. The finer details would be need to be ironed out ie letting people know the dates, times and routes. We do have the Muckers Strava page for that too.
