MUCKERS TUESDAY RACE DAY. 18/06/24
ROUVY Route Used : Tour De Suisse 2024 | Stage – 2 | Kollbrunn | 19.88miles | 580ft Climbing
Introduction:
Another nice looking Race route tonight with a slight down hill start, into the longest climb while the legs are still fresh, into a roller for the rest! 20 miler with less than 600ft climbing, its one you really need to draft’s help to get a decent place. This will be most peoples thinking while giving it full beans up the climb to hopefully still be with 1 or 2 others over the crest to then work with for the remaining part of the race. But before we get into the Main race, we have all the other start time races to have a look at and see what times they got!
I’ve put everyone’s positions in time order again so you can see how well you all did, even if you didn’t enter the “main” race.

4 NEDS in the top 10! I do not mention NEDs so the top 10 Muckers Worldwide mentions are as follows; 1st and 2nd to Muckers Worldwide Team riders “Tuden” and “denny44” with the last podium place going to “francoisvdp”. 4th comes Irish power house “JamesMcGrann” in a frantic sprint off with “HelmSyerforest” in 5th and “m-forby” in 6th.
The last 2 NEDs are next so this gives the next 4 riders a surprise top 10 mention with “MikeHagen” getting 7th, “ludwigdb” 8th, “issaclopez_GURE” 9th and final mention to the only Czech rider in the race, but our very own “RaTim”
The NEDs aren’t a punishment, we just want to make sure every mention is deserved from a level playing field point of view. So if I can’t see your stats, including your heart rate, how can I be truly confident I am treating you all the same? It’ll be interesting to see what happens to everything after the 24th when the old rider portal finally goes, i might not be able to see everything if they change it and the friendship option is deleted. lets see what happens….
Thanks everyone for jumping on and hopefully you enjoyed this challenge race route.

had a cracking race. got into a very fast group that stuck together and caught up one rider after another until we had a 13 rider sprint off for the line for 15th. I finished in the middle…. well, it was chill out Tuesdays wasn’t it?? lol
Chill-out Tuesday, so I wasn’t going to go all out trying to stay with the leaders. Still pushed it hard up the climb; highest 5-minute power of the year, so no complaints. Found myself with Mucker mates RaTim and ludwigdb, and Gure colleague isaaclopez. We were not catching the group ahead, and the group behind, while large, was not gaining. So it was going to be the four of us at the finish sprint. RaTim, I knew, was probably maxed out just hanging on, while Lugwig likes to pull and (I’m guessing!) was tiring himself out. I was just sitting in, as I suspected Isaac was. Into the last two kms, threw in some attacks to see the responses. RaTim struggled, and Isaac apparently did too, so I figured it would be Ludwig and me for the win from our group. I let him lead out and jumped with about 300 m to go. I’ve got no business beating Ludwig in a sprint, but that’s what happened! Happy with that.
You are right, it was too fast for me to after the hill. I’m satisfied, that I could hold the group till the end.
After going out on the MTB on Monday, I thought my leg would be a little tired after having a cold for a week and staying off the bike. I could see that this route would be fast and flatish. My only game plan was to find a group, jump on, and do my bit at the front when we hit a hill. That’s what I did.At the start, I found myself in a small group of about four riders with Jeff65. We pushed hard, and after five miles of riding, I could see Mucker1974’s group. I pulled our group to join them, and now we had about eight riders with about seven miles left to go. We caught up with Chak and Squalo_delle_Alpi in their group. Our group was now 10-12 riders, pushing 28 mph on the flats. With the finish line in sight, we all sprinted for it. I finished 26th. That was entertaining but hard. I will miss tonight’s championship race as I’m going out on my last ride on my Focus Bike before I get my new one next week. See you all soon.
