What a great turn out for week night race! It’s not been over 50 on the start line for a while, but i think this is in part to what a good race route this is! As it’s chill out Tuesdays and not specific to the Muckers Championships, we will leave the results as they are, but we will not mention any NEDs.

So tonight’s first mention goes to the winner of the sprint that was between the top 9 riders! As first place continues to ride with no HR data, the Muckers recognize “Tuden” as tonight’s winner with some very strong riders around him and all coming in with an average speed of over 29MPH!!!

our next Sprint finish is a 2 way for 11th place which is won by “HelmSyerforest” with an identical time to A Muckers Team rider, but has been placed higher! Well done!!

9 rider pack all racing for 14th next! this time “prochar1” gets the better of a Mucker! I’ll be having some stern words on the team bus home! 😉

3 way battle for 23rd next is won by the Strong Mucker “MikeHagen” then we have a big enough gap to the next battle which was a 6 way battle for 26th which was won by another Mucker and co-founder of this thing we call Muckers-Worldwide: “Kylofski” !! I can report from this pack of 9 that we were all together till that slight climb near the end, but the top 3, lead by Mike broke away!! So I gotta say well rode to those 3 riders as that was a strong break, then it was left to us “slower” lot to duke it out for 26th! But it was a cracking effort all the way!

The rest of the riders all seem to be quite spread out apart from our last mention “David1951” who secured 37th by a second! Well done and just goes to show, you will always find a race happening somewhere else that’s just as important to those in it as the fight for 1st is at the front! Hope it was a good race for you!

Thank you everyone for joining us, it really means a lot, especially as we go into the quieter months. We will still be scheduling Muckers Races with the challenges that get released and if they fit into our race days and Sunday hill climbs before the challenge end date, then we will have them scheduled and ready to go!!

So please make sure we are friends (Mucker1974) as I always send invites out to my ROUVY friends list as and when I create the races. NOTE: although I schedule all the different start times for the same route, I only send the invite out for the 19:05 race. This is to stop you guys receiving 4/5 emails per race day for all the different start times and it filling up your invite box to the point you terminate our friendship as it’s just too much clutter! So please, if you can’t make the 19:05 start time, just use the race invite email as a reminder that the other start times have also been created. I always create the extra start times first so when the invite comes, you will be able to find and join them straight away. Hope that all made sense!?

Thanks again, Neil.

co-founder of muckersworldwide.com and race organizer! Been into cycling since a kid and spent most of the time on BMX and mountain bikes. Took me longer than most to get the road cycling bug but I was bitten around 5 years ago when I finally got a fully fledged road bike that fitted and I let the flat handled road bike go...

I keep saying its “chill-out” Tuesdays! I even post on the ROUVY Facebook group my intentions for a 3.0 max train gang if anyone fancies it! I do try to be disciplined, i really do!! But when its such a draft heavy, fast spinning route like this, with little kickers to pull over to keep momentum, its really hard to stay at 3.0 and let the massive pack you are with just disappear up the road!!!!😁😁😁.

To be honest, we set off very well. i think we were a group of 6 or 7, around 35th place and we were fine, but as soon as the first little kicker came, those doing the 3.0 were ion danger of getting dropped! so yes, a little more effort needed and fair play, once over the hill, the pace did let off to let the group rebunch so this was all good in my eyes. We gradually pick up other stragglers who either join us or get spewed out the back, and as we get further into it, we start dropping the odd rider on the slightly longer climbs where we are now hitting 3.5s……. in the draft!!!

but considering the profile and speed, i think we did really well as a group. its obviously easier to do a specific power level on a long continuous climb and maybe i just stick to doing specific w/kg training on those types of profiles, as this type, that really do just suck you in to race and NOT get dropped, maybe these ones, i just keep my mouth shut…… 😉😏

What a nice “chilled” race :-p
I’ve been away from Rouvy for 4-5 week since I ride outside in the spring/summer and yesterday the weather wasn’t that nice. I was tiered from start but despite a planned 3.0 – pretty fast MikeHagen and I took turns on pulling.(we’ve not the only ones)
With 2,5 km left MikeHagen, Kalle-FW and I decided to pull away from the group. I thought I had a chance to win the sprint, but Mike and Kalle was way stronger than me. But great last battle 🙂

That *was* a chill ride for me! Though I will confess I misinterpreted Neil’s suggestion. I thought he meant 3 W average, not 3 W max. When I was pulling I was watching to keep Neil at 3 W/kg, and on the ramps a little more because the average was under 3. But, hey, he said he enjoyed it! In the end, with a couple km to go, I didn’t want one of the non-Muckers in our group to win the sprint, so I surged. Kalle-FW and DolphWader and I duked it out, and I won the sprint. That was fun!

Hi Muckers, it was nice to return to Muckers race. It was a flat course but the group I was in and all the drafting it was a great fun. There was a few attacks from individuals which got cancelled as our group worked well together and we managed to catch some riders in the front too. Once again the finish didn’t disappoint, there was about 8 of us finishing very very close. Well done everyone👏💪.

Raise your hand who wants climbs in races. Giro finished and some brilliant mind scheduled completely flat course for tonight’s race. On one hand i enjoyed it as not much effort was required to stay in front group, on the other now i know i would not want to be sprinter, because sitting one hour or more in peloton and just waiting for the finish is not much actionable. Ofcourse a bit of action happened, but far from other races.

The most exciting moment was then ~30sec all out sprint. To my surprise i was the fifth two hundred meters before end, but did mistake by slowing down for a milisecond and got passed by two other racers. Very good race, do not take my previous words too seriously, i understand we cant climb Mortirolo every week 🙂 Thank you all who joined.

Last night’s Chill Out Tuesday race on Rouvy was anything but chill! A large group of us, about 10 riders strong, quickly formed a pack. The pace was relentless, consistently above 3.0 W/kg, turning this supposed “chill” ride into an all-out battle. Especially considering the relatively flat course, a mere 28 miles long with only 460 ft of climbing – hardly any hills to offer respite.

My heart rate averaged a pounding 148 bpm, even peaking at 169 bpm, a testament to the intensity of the race. Despite the unexpected challenge, I managed to hold my own and even out-sprinted Mucker1974 across the finish line at a grueling 8.4 W/kg.

Finishing 26th out of 45 finishers with an average speed of 26.1 mph, this was without a doubt the hardest “chill” ride I’ve ever done. I guess you could say I redefined the meaning of a Tuesday chill out!
