So did anyone save something for race 2? just a flat out sprint to the finish with hardly any gradient, so the draft was going to be key here!
Top 4 looked to have had some fun and a sprint finish to top it off! “hinsbergen” got his revenge on “Tuden” for a switch of the first 2 places from the first race tonight, “adampel” got the last step of the podium, with “nelsonsnyder” getting 4th, just 1.1 second from the lead.
5th goes to “orthostice” who seemed in a little bit of no mans land, as did “stephane-martin” in 6th. hope they both didnt do this whole race on there own!
We then have a 6 way fight for the last 5 places in the top 10! The winner of this little battle was our very own, and top Muckers Worldwide Team rider for this race “denny44” claiming 7th, 8th went to “JJRobinson” who was just in front of out 2nd Muckers Worldwide rider “Berty-Bassett6” claiming 9th. “Lrollin” won that all important battle for 10th ( and final mention!😉) and was only 1 minute and 34 seconds off the lead! really strong 2nd race!
well done everyone, and especially well done to all those who did both races.
championship leaderboard will be published in tomorrows blog alongside the 2LATE4ME Results
cheers everyone.

This is my kind of route. Set it and forget it. I was feeling good evwn though I was dying from the previous rides climb. I took off at the start kinda lame but quickly found myself with the guys I am normally around. I guess we were all tired. This ride really showed that competitors can be like teammates. Mick michel and I ended up riding together the entire ride. Spoiler Alert! We finished 1.1 seconds apart on this route! We swapped back and forth countless times. It felt more like we were helping each other vs racing each other. I could see ryanio-bianchi, 700 feet ahead and I was hoping working together we could catch him. And catch him we did with a little over a mile to go. At 1 mile to go I pushed to 4 w/kg to try and stave off a sprint finish. ryanio and Mick stuck right with me. I couldn’t hold the pace and dropped a bit, ryanio made it past me and I think Mick did as well. 900 feet to go and I pushed to 600 watts to crawl back ahead of Mick, AND ryanio. Yes ryanio finished in the 1.1 seconds between Mick and I. It was a great ride and felt good to have such close competition.
I was totally exhausted from the first race, so I wanted to recover this time. I skipped my plan and decided to put in a little more effort and stay with you. But you are right: not to race, just to help each other and have a nice ride. When you started your sprint right at the end, I thought for a moment about countering your sprint… but my legs were too tired to do that 😰
It was nice to be close together in both races 💪
Second sprint race, these races are not really in my characteristics, but I want to sell dearly.
Good start, it took me a while to find a group that could let me breathe… I was hoping to have found the right one but no one perhaps had the energy to go and capture S.Ludford. So I concentrated on going under the Top 20, I rode together with BorgkingLe in the last km, sometimes I went ahead, sometimes he, in the end I hid to try to make one last final push for the 19th and this time I did it. Good battle with him, congratulations. I also always kept an eye on Fatboyastie for surprises. Seeing the end times, maybe I could have grit my teeth to catch Loudford, but maybe he was checking me out too and managed for the finale. Well done to all the runners of this double race 🤙💪
oh…ufortunately, an overheating problem prevented me from finishing the race normally. I had to wait a while twice, I would estimate at least 15 minutes, until my compi could be restarted. What a pity…..but again a furious race 🙂 I take it easy now and will try this route again, because it didn’t count for the down under challenge

Between races managed to throw some carbs down my neck in preparation for this one. Once again, a fast start needed to get in a good group which I found in yayarecki, rouvy1bryon, robbiedoo and tranberg. Punching above my weight (is that possible at 96kg) with these guys, I wasn’t going to stick, just as I started to drift off the back Mucker1974 and Andy_UP filled the gap and I was able to get a another mile or two in the good draft before finally giving up. I then ended up in a ‘duo’ to the end with tranberg, I can only assume this guy was using this race as a type of recovery ride now I have seen his Race 1 result. We were holding a steady pace of 3.0w front and 2.5w back as we shared duties. I think we were both doing exactly the same thing … calculating the distance to the chasing group with Squalo_delle_Alpi and BorgkingLE looking prominent, I was mentally allowing them to gain, 4mile 800ft, 3mile 600ft, 2 mile 400ft and adjusted pace to match. As we reached the last mile we did a little bit of ‘after you’ toying then time for a sprint, not confident I would win a short big power sprint I went 800ft, he responded, again at 500ft, he responded, last hope 100ft in the barriers, my 3rd kick and I hit the front with seconds remaining, I knew 2 more seconds would do it … but no … my body said “that’s it” and I watched tranberg cross the line. It was fun to have the energy to try a sprint … enjoyed it!!!
I would not call it recovery ride. I was just totally dead after the first race plus I am 66 kg, so a totally flat course is not in my favour. I was dangling at the back of the group for some time and it seemed like yayarecki, robbiedoo and rouvy1bryon could go on in terms of setting a (too) high pace. Glad we were two who were dropped at the same time, otherwise I am sure the next group had caught up.
The first race really did deplete the energy stores. Being heavy, this type of route is normally the only time I can hang on to the guys you mentioned above, but not tonight. Yes, we worked well to conserve what we had left and hold off the chasing group. Good sprint, I cracked first.
I stay with the four tops until half way, then when there was no one behind me I gave up… and survived
Too flat, too fast 4 me. But it’s a championship race so I got into a (too) fast group and felt I couldn’t hold on for the entire race. Lucky me, Neil let go just before I did so I ended up with him holding our position, with him doing the most pulling (hey, he had fresh legs!) and me dying in his wheel. In the end he dropped me but I was sure there was no danger from behind. Good race!
